An article containing an interview in which supplements are being promoted is in fact fake, says the medical researcher quoted in the piece.
Cardiologist Prof Dr Chin Sze Piaw said that he was informed of the matter on Sept 25 and filed a police report on the same day as he is concerned that this might lead to patients stopping their heart medication.

00:00Without my knowledge at all, and without my permission at all, they used my photographs and they used my name
00:11and they made up a false or a fake interview.
00:16Fake interview?
00:17And in that fake conversation, they put me up to say in a very long paragraph,
00:26they made me out to say that there are certain proven blood pressure medicines
00:31that I mentioned in the interview that these are rubbish medicines.
00:39They made me out to say that these medicines ended up killing a very famous Hollywood actor.
00:48And they made me out to say that these medicines should not be taken anymore
00:53and instead the patients should take this product that I don't even know this product existed.
01:02First of all, I never gave the interview.
01:06Secondly, I didn't even know, I never said any of those things that was mentioned.
01:15And thirdly, I didn't even know the herbal supplement product that purportedly I was promoting.
01:24But they made out the interview to look so real that this thing can actually,
01:34I'm a victim here, but potentially thousands and thousands of patients taking these proper medicines
01:41may actually become the victim.
01:43Because if they believe the article and they stop taking the proper prescribed medicines by their doctors,
01:50they may actually suffer kidney failure, stroke, heart attack or even die.
01:56Can you explain how and when did you know about the false evidence?
02:03I was alerted on this matter on the 25th.
02:09Alerted on this matter on the 25th of September.
02:14And I immediately made a police report the same afternoon.
02:18And then an MCMC report as advised by the police and by my lawyers on the 27th.
02:25How I got to know about it?
02:27It was my colleagues, my other doctors, whose patients had shown them this article.
02:37And then they went to the doctors and said,
02:40these doctors said, don't need to take this medicine. Is it true?
02:44So then those doctors became concerned and they forwarded the article to me.
02:49A very important message for patients taking blood pressure medicines
02:56is that they should follow their doctor's advice.
03:00And if they are worried whether a certain prescription is valid or not valid,
03:06they could even check with national practice guidelines issued by the MOH
03:11or they could check with the BPFK, Bureau Pharmaceutical Pengawalan Malaysia or MPRA.
03:22Because all approved prescriptions are registered with the MPRA.
03:30And the important thing is they shouldn't stop whatever approved medicines that they are taking
03:38without a good reason and they should always discuss it with their doctors.
03:42It's a different thing if anybody wants to take extra herbal supplements as long as it's valid,
03:48but don't use it as an alternative and stop whatever existing medications
03:53because it can actually be detrimental.
