00:06It's not Christmas yet, but some fur babies in Quezon City have already given birth

00:10as a sign of World Rabies Day.

00:13There are also reminders from fur parents as a sign of care.

00:17That's what we're aiming for.

00:22Faye's arrival was calm and swift from her pet cat, Hoshi.

00:26We were at the vet and he took a skin sample.

00:31I didn't see that he was already agitated or something.

00:34The vet said he would give instructions.

00:36I was petting him.

00:38Then he scratched me.

00:40The wounds are long and deep.

00:42His pet cat has an annual anti-rabies shot.

00:46But he immediately went to the hospital to make sure.

00:49My bite was category 3.

00:52So category 3, because he's agitated.

00:55My cat has anti-rabies.

00:57He's in their cat.

00:58And he's my cat.

00:59But this bite, he's so deep.

01:04She also did another test on him

01:06to make sure that he didn't get an infection from the cat's fur.

01:10The Bartonella Henselae Bacteria Test.

01:13And that is a cat scratch disease.

01:17I still haven't gotten a result from that.

01:20The Quezon City Veterinary Department said

01:22that even if the pets are always at home,

01:25the pet owners should not complain.

01:27How sure are we that they don't know how to crawl under the gate

01:30or they don't know how to cross the gate,

01:32especially if the pet is a cat.

01:34So we could never take the risk.

01:37This year, as of September 14,

01:40the Department of Health reported 354 rabies cases.

01:44The government's target for 2030

01:46is that no one will die from rabies.

01:49That's why World Rabies Day is reminding the public

01:52to fight against rabies.

01:58to bring your dogs for vaccination.

02:01Rabies is fatal, it's dangerous,

02:09In Barangay Bagbag in Quezon City,

02:11more than 200 volunteers conducted a large-scale rabies vaccination.
