00:00Welcome to Test for English, and let's go now to see images from Lebanon as the latest
00:05Israeli attacks unfold.
00:07On Friday, the Israeli army launched an attack on the southern suburb of Beirut, specifically
00:13the residential neighborhoods of Haret Harnik.
00:17First images of the Israeli aggression are from today, September 27th, against the southern
00:23suburb of Beirut.
00:25Local sources have claimed that there are also underway 10 continuous raids, and let's
00:32recall that this happens for the second consecutive day and for the eighth time since October
00:382023 that Israeli occupation forces have attacked.
00:43This according to different media news outlets, including Al Mayadeen from Lebanon.
00:51Let's recall that we're looking at images from today from the latest attacks from Israel
00:58to Lebanon.
00:59This is from a recent attack that took place in the outskirts of Beirut.
01:08Israel's military launches an unprecedented attack on southern Beirut with dead and wounded
01:14at the scene and the buildings brought down as the assault on Lebanon intensifies.
01:21Let's recall that this is happening on the same day that Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin
01:26Netanyahu, addressed the General Assembly of the United Nations at the headquarters
01:34in New York and stated that he was there to ratify the account on Israel and stating that
01:41Israel always seeks peace.
01:43While this speech was going on, Israel was intensifying its bombings, its strikes on
01:50Lebanon and these images are of the first images that we are receiving on site describing
01:58the amount of the attacks that are underway.
02:07So different explosions have been heard, also plummets of smoke have been seen in different
02:15parts of Beirut as the Israeli attacks continue to be registered in Lebanon and Israel apparently
02:28continues to not give in to a global call for a ceasefire not only in Gaza but also
02:37in the region and instead of going into a ceasefire effort, apparently everything indicates
02:48that we are looking at a situation that is expanding into other areas of the region with
02:58more Israeli attacks of a devastating nature.
03:02Let's recall that these attacks on Lebanon have been constant and specifically since
03:09Monday this week, hundreds have been killed after an intensified campaign carried out
03:19by Israel that has addressed the situation before the UN today and stated that it was
03:26not against the people of Lebanon but against Hezbollah and of course the numbers and the
03:35registers tell us otherwise with the number of civilians that have been killed, that have
03:40been hit and also the amount of destruction that these attacks carry.
03:49Let's recall that smoke and debris have engulfed Beirut after new Israeli attacks and we are
03:57looking at the first images, these are from today and from the most recent attacks after a week
04:05of continuous strikes from Israel onto Lebanon, Israel that in the meantime has also not ceased
04:15to strike different areas of the Gaza Strip at the same time.
04:21Residents have described the situation to different new outlets as complete chaos in the city,
04:29in the different regions and suburbs of Beirut where this is happening after the strikes,
04:36of course bringing not only mourning and chaos but a lot of commotion to the entire population.
04:47And in this context we have been following closely what is happening at the headquarters
04:54of the UN where today Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that he does not care for the global
05:02calls for a ceasefire that was said at the headquarters of the United States while this
05:09was going on in the Middle East.
05:17We will continue bringing you the latest in the region in upcoming news briefs, stay tuned with Telusor English.
