00:00Here in Arizona, laws enabling counties to invalidate registrations of voters who have
00:06moved out of state are in place under a federal appeals ruling.
00:10Voting rights groups argue that the legislation unfairly targets voter registration efforts.
00:15Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court approved a Republican request to partially revive an
00:20Arizona law requiring proof of U.S. citizenship for voter registration.
00:25Over in Georgia, the Republican-leaning Electoral Board has given the green light to a controversial
00:30rule requiring ballots to be counted by hand.
00:33The move has prompted criticism from both Democratic and Republican officials.
00:37There are several things that concern me about this.
00:40Number one, I do think it's too close to the election.
00:42I do.
00:43I think that it's too late to train a lot of poll workers that have already started
00:47their training processes.
00:48And to go back and have to retrain them on something like this.
00:51I think there's a lack of resources in many counties to effectuate this rule.
00:57The board has also adopted rules giving county officials more power to question vote results.
01:02This could potentially allow Trump allies to prevent certification if he loses.
01:07Further north in Michigan, the Republican National Committee has filed a string of lawsuits
01:12questioning the way absentee ballots are counted in the state.
01:16The RNC has also sued in Nevada, along with the Trump campaign, to force officials to
01:21check that registered voters are American citizens.
01:25Earlier this month, a court in North Carolina denied a request from the RNC that sought
01:29to block the state from accepting digital ID cards issued by the University of North
01:33Carolina at polling places.
01:36The committee is appealing the decision, a move which, if successful, could make it harder
01:40for students to vote.
01:43In Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court decided that mail ballots cannot be accepted if they
01:48do not bear the correct date on their outer envelope.
01:50A move that voting rights groups insist will nullify thousands of legitimate ballots.
01:55Meanwhile the Supreme Court in Wisconsin is looking into a case that would ban mobile
01:59voting sites.
02:01Some Republicans argue that their repeated use could increase the risk of voter fraud.
