00:00Please help me welcome to the stage, Ann DePee!
00:15To the bath phone, Ann!
00:19Thank you, Steve.
00:20While I'm having so much fun, I forgot what I'm supposed to do.
00:26This is...
00:27Wow.
00:29This crowd out there is amazing, you guys.
00:31Thank you for coming today.
00:35Jim and I are so excited to be here, and we're so honored.
00:38We're so honored to be present today for this unveiling.
00:41We're fans, first and foremost, and we look forward to this star being a milestone for
00:47Batman fans to visit for generations to come.
00:51Along with Jim, we shepherd our amazing team of dedicated comics talent and editors to
00:56continue Batman's adventures through the pages of DC Comics, reaching readers all around
01:02the globe.
01:03By the way, we have so many comic talent here today, and our DC staff is here.
01:08Our Gotham editorial team is sitting, I think, right there, so say hi to them!
01:18Batman has inspired countless writers and artists like Neil Adams, Scott Snyder, Tom
01:24King, our very own Jim Lee, Jeff Loeb, Frank Miller, Paul Dini, Denny O'Neill, Greg Capullo,
01:34Grant Morrison, Andy Kubert, Jim Aparo, and Tim Sale, all to tell stories of heroism and
01:40perseverance.
01:43Batman's story has transcended his comic book origins, becoming an American myth.
01:50Batman is remarkable in that each of us has our own favorite Batman.
01:54With his stories resonating across generations, from kids to teens to adults, from the pages
02:00of comics to the large and small screens, he continues to inspire, excite, and entertain.
02:08His stories can be funny, sincere, scary, outlandish, and unbelievable, and all of it
02:15is still Batman.
02:18Woo!
02:19I mean, honestly, I have the best job in the world, right?
02:24I get to do this, right?
02:27It's been almost two decades since I've started working with Batman, and his story still takes
02:32my breath away every time.
02:35Incredibly, but not surprisingly, Batman has stayed relevant for 85 years.
02:41His story evolves and changes while staying steadfast to the mission of justice.
02:47Our job at DC Comics is to tell his stories, and next month, adding to his canon, we're
02:53sharing a new reimagining of the Batman mythology for comic fans to discover.
02:59Woo!
03:02From Scott Snyder and Nick Drago—let's do that again, huh?
03:07From Scott Snyder and Nick Dragota, this Batman is still the Dark Knight, cape and cowl and
03:12all, but his origin story is entirely new.
03:16We can't wait to share it with you.
03:18It's going to be epic, and who knows, we hope that may be one of your new favorite
03:22Batmans.
03:23I'll end with what I think is Batman's greatest strength.
03:32While he is one of the few DC heroes without actual superpowers, Batman possesses the unbelievable
03:38ability to bring fans of all kinds together around something they truly love.
03:45Woo!
03:46Woo!
03:47Woo!
03:48Woo!
03:49Woo!
03:50Woo!
