00:00And we are back for a coast-to-coast here on a Wednesday.
00:06That's right.
00:07It's back.
00:08A golf Wednesday on C2C.
00:10And why?
00:11Because we have the President's Cup being played this weekend.
00:15Internationals against the United States.
00:18It is a road game for the United States this year.
00:20They don't have to go very far, though.
00:22Just north across the border to Royal Montreal, which is where they will be playing this weekend.
00:28And of course, if it's a golf Wednesday, we've got to get the whole golf crew in here
00:32and get it rocking, including, of course, the Prime Minister, Cam Stewart, as we get
00:37ready.
00:38Hi, Cam.
00:39How are you?
00:40Are you ready for the President's Cup?
00:41I'm loving this, Carver.
00:42Like, I'm excited for this President's Cup like I am for a Ryder Cup.
00:44Like, this is cool that it's in, you know, Montreal, and the crazy French-Canadian fans
00:48are going to get all wild.
00:49Like, you think they're bad at a Habs game?
00:51If you give them a couple of Molson exports and get them wild, if the internationals do
00:54good, it could be chaos.
00:56America, a deeper team.
00:58Canada, though, one thing I've noticed, Carver, Mike, we're taking them out to the hockey
01:01game and stuff like this.
01:03He seems very, very prepared compared to President's Cup teams in the past.
01:07These guys really want to make an impression.
01:09They don't want to get blown out and get embarrassed in this thing.
01:11I think it's going to be closer than expected.
01:13It might be closer than expected, Cam.
01:15In fact, they just moments ago announced the pairings for the four-ball tomorrow, the opening
01:22event.
01:24Jason Day and Ben Ahn against Xander Schauffele and Tony Finau in the first match.
01:28Adam Scott and Minwoo Lee against Colin Morikawa and Sahith Tagala in the second match.
01:34Sun Jae Im and Tom Kim against Scotty Scheffler and Russell Henley in the third match.
01:39Taylor Pendreth and Christian Bezidenhout against Wyndham Clark and Keegan Bradley.
01:44And the last match of the day, Cam, will be Matsuyama and Corey Connors against Patrick
01:50Cantlay and Sam Burns.
01:52So just off the surface, Cam, before we give the picks for tomorrow's matchups, two things
01:56stick out for me.
01:57Number one, usually the X-Men and Cantlay are together on the U.S. side a lot, and they
02:03are not going to be, at least for tomorrow's festivities.
02:06And the other thing is, Cam, they didn't put any of the Canadians together.
02:10So you have Connors with Matsuyama, you have Pendreth with Bezidenhout, and Matt Hughes
02:15didn't get in the lineup the first day.
02:17I love that too, Carver.
02:18I don't want them together.
02:19And also, I like that Weir didn't put them out early.
02:21They're going to be very nervous, and you can't go down early.
02:24That's the whole thing.
02:25I think Captain Weir did a great job, Furyk.
02:27Also breaking up good friends, Scotty Scheffler and Mr. Burns in that.
02:32So two of the regular American teams.
02:34That's another one.
02:35People don't know about that.
02:36But Scheffler and Burns are best friends, so he's basically getting other guys acquainted.
02:40I think the internationals did a great job too, like Pendreth, the guy who murders the
02:43ball with Bezidenhout, who has a good short game.
02:46I think both captains did a good job.
02:48We'll see how it works for America, because if they lose those matches, people are going
02:50to go, why didn't X-Man and Cantlay stay together, and Scheffler and Burns?
02:55Opens you up to a lot of problems, that's for sure, Cam.
02:57All right, let's rip through this here.
02:58We got a lot to do.
02:59Let's start with really just in terms of who do we think is going to win the entire thing.
03:04Then we'll get through all the individual guy stuff.
03:06Here's what I have, Cam.
03:07And the United States, of course, is a heavy favorite in this.
03:11They are minus 340 to win the President's Cup, plus 260 for the internationals.
03:16I am going to go, Cam, United States minus the three and a half points, which is minus
03:23130.
03:24Obviously, history tells you here that they have done a great job winning this.
03:27They've only lost it once.
03:28They've tied another time.
03:30Now, one thing scares me, Cam, is that on the road ones is where it's usually a little
03:35closer when they do go on the road to wherever the internationals is.
03:40But this was juicy to me, US to win by four to six points at plus 340.
03:44Those are my two plays to win the whole thing, Cam.
03:47You know what?
03:48I think the USA wins two, Carver, but I think it's really close.
03:50So how do we attack this thing?
03:52Kind of like what you did from both sides.
03:53You got USA, and if they win by four or more, you're loaded.
03:56And for me, if USA wins by three or under, I'm laughing.
03:59So I got USA to win between one and three points, plus 385.
04:04I like the internationals at plus three and a half in this spot.
04:08So my goal is if they lose, lose by three or less, I hit both.
04:11And internationals get the first point.
04:13I kind of like was waiting for this, but I like their matchup out of the gate.
04:17I'm glad they didn't play the Canadians.
04:18I thought Mike Weir might do that.
04:20So I think it's imperative that they get off to a good start in this tournament.
04:23So I'll take it at plus money.
04:24It's kind of like a first round leader play, Carver.
04:27I think they come out of the gate and get people excited.
04:29Hey, Cam, you got to be having Jason Day is your first one to potentially get you that
04:35first point.
04:36That's not a bad one there.
04:37Jason Day and Ben Onn is who you'll have against the X-Men and Tony Fee now to start.
04:42All right.
04:43Let me start with some of my guys here.
04:44Scottie Scheffler, top overall point scorer, plus 700 for me.
04:49There you go.
04:50Sahith Tagala, top U.S.
04:51I'm going to do a couple top U.S.
04:53Tagala's talked about this thing, Cam.
04:55He is so happy to be here.
04:57He's one of the few guys playing in one of these big events for the first time.
05:00Plus 1,200, 12 to 1 for him to have the most points.
05:04Tom Kim on the international side for me, plus 750 to be the top international point
05:10scorer.
05:11That's my line now here, Cam.
05:12And then Tagala, top rookie at plus 400.
05:16Bradley, top U.S.
05:18captain's pick at plus 750.
05:20And Corey Connors, top international captain pick at plus 330.
05:25Those are the individual props I've gone with so far.
05:27I like the way you did it, Carver.
05:29You went for a little bit more and I went a little bit safer, but still all plus money.
05:32So let's do this thing now.
05:33We both agree on Colin Murakawa.
05:36I think he's going to play great.
05:37I got him at plus 650.
05:38No, sorry.
05:39Tom Kim.
05:40I love seeing you.
05:41If Tom Kim is the top international point scorer at 750, this tournament's paid for.
05:44Colin Murakawa, perfect fit for this course.
05:47It's tight and dangerous.
05:48I like him there.
05:49Corey Connors, top Canadian.
05:50All he's got to beat is a couple of guys here, and I think Corey Connors is the best golfer
05:54out of the Canadians.
05:55Adam Scott, basically against Jason Day and Minwoo Lee at top Australian.
05:59I know he's motivated.
06:00He wants to do better as an older guy with the younger guys.
06:03And Tom Kim, top Korean.
06:05If we like him top international, take him top Korean too as well.
06:08I love that.
06:09I think he's going to win the gala for top American rookie.
06:12Love it.
06:13And this is an interesting one.
06:14Minwoo Lee, top international rookie.
06:15It's basically a matchup bet.
06:17Minwoo Lee versus Mackenzie Hughes.
06:18I'll take Lee at minus 120.
06:21Yeah.
06:22Look, Cam, this is a lot of fun.
06:24I like the President's Cup.
06:25I know it probably doesn't get as much gas as the Ryder Cup gets.
06:30You know, there's not as much history behind it, but it's a fun event.
06:33I think the internationals will have...
06:35I think they're going to push, Cam, for the first couple of days.
06:38I think it's the singles on Sunday where, you know, I just think the US, when you start
06:43to get guys like Sheffler and X-Man and Gantley in there, I think that that might overwhelm
06:48a little bit for the internationals on Sunday.
06:51Great call.
06:52If the internationals have a lead, America can still win with the singles.
06:54But if they're down going into the singles, they might win by seven points or more.
06:58It's going to be an absolute blow.
06:59So I expect them to be up early and America to come back late.
07:03Cam, I love that Golf Wednesdays is back.
07:06And we do have some tournaments coming up here in October as well.
07:09Oh, I hit a winner last week with Billy Horschel in Europe!
07:11I saw that!
07:12He loves Europe!
07:13Yeah!
07:14He won it twice in a row!
07:15Look at you!
07:16Nice job!
07:17Cam's throwing a Golf Wednesday!
