00:00Let me get your thoughts first on these pairings for tomorrow, before you give me an overall
00:09thought on who's going to win this thing.
00:11And right out of the gate, I like the Presidents, and I think a lot of people do too, Smiley,
00:15because you get that kind of schoolyard pick-em feel with the matchups.
00:20You know, you got to match, it's not like the Ryder Cup, where it's all like almost
00:24out of a hat, here's the five groups.
00:26This is a lot of fun, so you're kind of matching who the other guy goes with.
00:29Jason Day and Ben Onn against Xander Schauffele and Tony Finau, first match out tomorrow.
00:34Who do you think is favored there, Smiley?
00:36Who do you think is favored in that matchup?
00:39I would imagine the United States will be favored in that one.
00:42I just think that Tony Finau's ball striking, his iron play, his approach to the green statistic,
00:48it's second best in the world right now behind Scottie Scheffler.
00:52So when you throw in what this golf course presents, which is a lot of par-fours, par-threes,
00:58two par-fives, so you're going to have plenty of opportunities, I think, between that 140-165
01:04yard range in which Tony Finau is just ridiculous at.
01:08And then you throw in the second best player in the world in Xander Schauffele.
01:11I imagine they're a pretty good favorite here.
01:13I'm going to probably go with that they're a minus-160 favorite over the other pairing.
01:20You weren't too far off, Smiley, minus-145 for Xander and Tony, plus-210 for Day and
01:27On, the first group out.
01:29Second group out, the California guys, Colin Morikawa and Saheith Tagawa.
01:33And I'll say this, and I know you've seen it, Smiley, I love that Tagawa, he is like
01:37ear-to-ear smiles that he's a part of this event.
01:39I think it's very cool for Saheith to do this for the first time.
01:43Adam Scott and Minwoo Lee on the other side, group two.
01:47This is the match I'm most excited about watching, to be honest, and it'll be the match I'm covering
01:52tomorrow with NBC on the ground.
01:53So I'll get to watch all 18 holes of this, if hopefully it goes that far.
01:59I'm just very curious to see how Minwoo Lee is going to play.
02:03He's a potential next superstar in the game of golf.
02:07He was the guy that was picked by Mike Weir.
02:09I think this golf course suits him.
02:12His ball speed is 187 miles an hour, club head speed 124, and he's playing with a guy
02:17that he's idolized in Adam Scott.
02:20That team interests me because Adam Scott's played in all of these President's Cups and
02:24never really has had ultra-success with a partner.
02:28So I'm curious to see if Minwoo Lee and Adam Scott are able to win this match, to see if
02:35that pairing continues to play the rest of the week, but still, that side of Colin Morikawa
02:41and what he's able to bring, how great of a year he's had to hit the galas, has been
02:45swept on.
02:46I'm going to say they're slight favorites at, I would say, minus 120.
02:51Minus 110 for Morikawa and Tagawa, plus 155 for Scott and Lee.
