Contemplation is simply being fully present in heart, mind, and body, to what is in a way ‘that’, that allows you to creatively respond and work toward what could be. Contemplation is both personal and communal, internal and external. It helps us let go of our usual, self-focused way of thinking and doing things so that our compassionate, connected, and creative self can emerge.
Today we examine the science of finding your spiritual self and how we can move towards a definition of contemplation that you can apply to transforming your life. Contemplation is the ultimate expression of our higher or spiritual lives and just like yoga, just like any other mindful or spiritual practice, contemplation requires one to go beyond the mind or in other words, it gets us to move beyond the bounds of all we know. It is more about the learning how to un-know than know. It is coming to know your true self, their true self and every other living thing’s true self and how it is all in divine relationship to the entire world without exclusion. When you look at the world, including yourself, other people and the Creator, exactly as they all are without distortions and self-created boundaries, then you will be able to grasp and comprehend what is really going on here in this mysterious and wonderful, and oftentimes chaotic universe. Perhaps this is what Jeremiah heard in the voice that said call to Me and I will answer you, and I will show you marvellous and wonderful things which you know nothing about (which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish).

00:00We need to question what we think, feel and believe, which is the practice of contemplation.
00:07This is how we heal.
00:08We heal by allowing the truth to set us free.
00:15But now before I go on any further, I want you to understand the power of contemplation,
00:20the purpose of contemplation.
00:23And we've really laid it out in the book, The Power of Contemplative Intelligence, which
00:29is your awareness that you're not your IQ, you're not your mind, you're not your analytics,
00:37you're not your calculating self that you grew up with, that had that intense need to
00:43survive and then people please and be codependent and play the victim when we had to and so
00:48on and so forth.
00:49When we realize we're not the animal, the anima, we start to need to be able to check
00:57what is real and what is true and we can do so with contemplation, contemplative practice.
01:04And contemplation simply is how we penetrate illusion, the false, the appearing real and
01:16how we then touch reality as the truth sets us free.
01:24Contemplative practice is something that I recommend to everybody.
01:27It's the zero that where meditation is the one, contemplation is the zero.
01:33It's really going beyond your thoughts.
01:39And what is beyond your thoughts?
01:42Pure consciousness.
01:45Imagine what we're capable of when we're operating from a place of pure consciousness rather
01:50than egoic defense.
01:53This is really the difference that makes all the difference in the world.
