00:00Not a new motorist in Metro Manila is stuck in traffic and stuck in the heavy traffic of the vehicle.

00:57There are many vehicles.

00:59According to the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines and Truck Manufacturers Association,

01:04just this August, 39,115 new commercial vehicles were added to the roads in the country,

01:12including cars, SUVs, trucks, and buses.

01:15From January this year until August, 304,765 units of private vehicles were sold and used on the roads.

01:2510.3% more than 276,215 in the past two months.

01:33MMDA says this number is random in Metro Manila.

01:37According to the LTO, 80,000 vehicles are added to the roads every month,

01:47including motorcycles, buses, trucks, and 40% of them are registered in Metro Manila.

01:55This is the base.

01:58If you include the ones in Karatig Province,

02:02from time to time, they enter and exit Metro Manila.

02:08Maybe that's about 50%.

02:10According to their latest data in 2023,

02:12there are 3.6 million vehicles passing through Metro Manila every day.

02:17What we're doing is we're looking for alternative routes

02:22so that our countrymen have options.

02:28MMDA calls for the use of live lanes to reduce traffic.

02:33What's being complained about, aside from EDSA,

02:36is the traffic on Commonwealth Avenue.

02:38They say they're looking for a solution.

02:41Including the installation of a bus lane.

02:48This week, they're constructing a tunnel from Commonwealth Avenue

03:00to East Avenue and Quezon Avenue.

03:04They say 10,000 vehicles pass through Commonwealth Avenue and Quezon Avenue,

03:08and 8,000 pass through East Avenue.

03:10MMDA is planning to place the Suez-Chon in QCLGU, DPWH, and DOTR.
