00:00Nice back beautiful pretty awesome almost the same spec
00:30You
00:37What is going on you guys welcome back to the channel today
00:39We're in the Porsche 911 Carrera 4s Cabriolet this one being a 992 the eighth generation of the 911
00:46Now this is another vehicle from the beautiful fleet over at Monza Exotics
00:49Go hit them up if you're in Southern, California looking to rent any luxury or exotic car
00:53They will take care of you and you can rent this exact
00:56C4s Cabriolet from them today now going ahead and jumping right into the video the 992 C4 s is powered by a twin-turbo
01:023 liter flat-six married to an 8-speed PDK or dual clutch gearbox
01:06Although it's also available with a 7-speed manual gearbox. This one here is optioned with the PDK 8-speed
01:11It produces 443 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque with a 7,500 rpm redline and a top speed of
01:19188 miles an hour
01:20pushing that power to all four wheels
01:22Since this is a 4s the Ford denoting all-wheel drive the Carrera 4s Cabriolet has a 0 to 60 time of 3.6 seconds or
01:293.4 seconds if optioned with a sport chrono package
01:32Which this car is equipped with the 992 C4 s Cabriolet has a curb weight of three thousand six hundred and forty one pounds
01:38Making it 154 pounds heavier than its coupe counterpart due to the retractable roof
01:42Although it's just 0.2 seconds slower in its sprint from 0 to 60 than the C4 s coupe is and a whole second faster than
01:48the previous generation
01:50991 C4 s Cabriolet
01:51Now this particular car is finished in white over a Bordeaux red and black interior as well as optioned with that awesome red Cabriolet roof
01:59Which I think accents the interior and complements it very well
02:02Now the Cabriolet has been a staple of the 911 lineup since 1982 and the 992 being the eighth generation
02:07Has obviously seen numerous updates both inside and out while building on and improving its DNA
02:12Now at the time of this video the facelift of the 992 will be rolling out soon as I've already seen a few mule and dealer
02:17Cars on the road locally
02:18So there's gonna be even more design element changes in the 992.2 911s than the 992.1 which we are in today
02:25Now starting at the front of the car
02:26It's important to note that the 992 generation is nearly two inches wider than the 991 was and it seems the 911s are growing
02:32More overall in size with each new generation
02:35Where it is noticeable when side-by-side with the 991, 997, 996 and especially any of the older air-cooled generation 911s
02:42Where it's starting to almost morph into a grand tourer
02:45First things first the car's roundness has definitely been tightened up a bit with some more aggressive lines compared to some of the previous
02:50Generation 911s like the 991 and those before it and some of those visual cues off the bat
02:55Obviously those air channels a lot boxier than the 991 along with the mirror there and especially this hood
03:01There's a better close-up at those front air channels there along with this which is the front camera
03:07Nice to have two and then taking a look here
03:10We've got our turn signals which also dual as the daytime running lights and then these beautiful LED headlights
03:17Along with the Porsche lettering in there inside the housing
03:22Now coming down below the front bumper here. We'll see that plastic kind of rubberized front splitter
03:27This car does have the lift on it
03:29Which I've never found a need to use that in any of the regular 911s
03:33Even some of the RS's if you just know how to take the driveway angles correctly
03:37But it is nice to have if you're worried about scraping the front splitter
03:40Although this is plastic not like you really have to worry about some expensive carbon splitter to replace
03:45But that's just one more nice thing this car's option with that front axle lift
03:50Another cool thing to note here on the front end of the car
03:52We've got this boxy hood as well as in front of the windscreen here these distinct recessed lines here
03:57very reminiscent of the
03:59993 and I think it overall fits the car very very well and looks fantastic
04:03And while we're up here at the front of the vehicle you've got your gas tank location right here traditional to any 911
04:10Now moving to the side of the car here
04:11It's constructed of an aluminum body and I've gone ahead and put the roof up so you can see that the cabriolet has the
04:16Same side profile as the coupe with the soft top tapering seamlessly into the bodywork
04:21Now this is a real nice improvement over the previous cabriolets since the soft tops of the past never retained that iconic 911 silhouette with
04:28The roof up. However, the 992 does not fail to do so and it is still very clearly a 911
04:33Now with the roof back down you can see that notorious hunchback of the cabriolet. Some people hate it
04:37I honestly don't mind it
04:38But it definitely does break up that classic silhouette of the 911 unique to only the cabriolet models
04:44Now taking a look at the wheels this car is optioned with a set of rs spider wheels
04:4820 inches in the front and 21 inches in the rear for your brakes
04:51You're looking at 13.8 inch rotors with six piston calipers in the front and four piston calipers in the rear
04:56This car is also available to spec with rear wheel steering
04:59Although this particular one is not optioned with it
05:01Coming up to the door handles of the car porsche has switched to these flush mounted door handles versus your traditional kind of pull handle
05:08It looks sleek fits the car very well
05:10but i'm not the biggest fan of the practicality of it because
05:12It's a little finicky sometimes with the keyless entry of when it wants to and when it doesn't want to open
05:16There we go did just now
05:19But another thing is it'll also decide to close when it wants to if you've been
05:23In the car for too long and someone else tries to get in once that does shut
05:27Uh, you kind of have to jam your fingers under here and it's not too fun to get in and as noted before much
05:33Boxier more angular mirrors than the previous generation 911s
05:37Also fits the design elements of the car super well since they did go for that a lot more sharper look on the 992
05:44Continuing to the back of the car not much has changed apart from the width
05:47You can still see all those classic 911 design elements
05:51As you can see on the rear fenders here flush doesn't have those ducts that you would find on the rs or the turbo models
05:56Moving to the back of the car
05:57You'll see that iconic 992 mono taillight that runs the entire
06:01Rear length of the car as well as just how wide the 992 generation 911 is
06:07We can see here these rear lid slats painted in silver and another cool thing to note
06:11Is that there's actually nine on this side nine on that side two in the middle. So that denotes 992
06:18Moving down just a bit more here
06:20We can see this rear spoiler that deploys at 55 miles an hour or you can do it manually from inside the car via the infotainment
06:27And here's a quick visual of it with the spoiler up
06:34Now moving down a little bit more we can see those sport exhaust tips that the car is optioned with
06:39And they are molded tips. So they're not joined to the pipe
06:41If you take a look inside here, you can see the actual exhaust right there
06:46Now
06:48We'll go ahead and release that engine compartment here that is down from the inside this little button right here
06:53Hold that down
06:55And that will pop your engine cover there
06:58And once again in typical porsche 911 fashion
07:01Not really much for you to see other than your oil right there because they don't want you messing with anything
07:06Little side note. Sorry for all the noise two blackhawks there construction over here. It sounds like an absolute war zone
07:12But we're going to just deal with it and continue the video and while we're on the engine to reiterate
07:15You've got that perfectly engineered twin turbo 3 liter flat-six positioned right over your rear axle married to an 8-speed pdk gearbox
07:22with an output of 443 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque with a
07:267500 rpm redline and a top speed of 188 miles per hour
07:30Something else to note is that the carrera saw a move from naturally aspirated to turbocharged starting with the 991.2 generation
07:36So while this is not a turbo or turbo less model the carrera engines are now turbocharged as opposed to their naturally aspirated
07:42Predecessors now some people weren't a fan of this and while I love the naturally aspirated flat-six myself
07:46The turbo lag in this car is very very minimal unlike some other turbocharged vehicles and to close that compartment up same procedure
07:52You just hold this button down right here
07:55And it will shut
07:57Now taking another look at that hunchback with the neatly packed away roof
08:00It's prominent but I don't consider it to be an eyesore the way some people do
08:03And there's not really any other place for it to go do the engine position
08:06So it's kind of a sacrifice you have to make if you want the cabriolet over the coupe
08:10As for the roof mechanism itself
08:11It's reinforced with magnesium plates and is operated from open to close or vice versa in just 12 seconds
08:16And can be done up to 31 miles an hour now
08:18We'll head back around to the front here and pop that front trunk or frunk
08:22There's three ways to do so you could either do it with the button on the key
08:25Inside there in the same little button panel that we open the back with or coolest way here
08:30That not too many people know about swipe your hand like that and it will open up
08:34pretty nice touch
08:36And upon opening that it reveals 4.6 cubic feet of space which really isn't too bad given that this is a true sports car
08:42I mean you can fit a suitcase in there some groceries, whatever you need and then up here
08:46You've just got your washer fluid right there and then popping this you've got your flat patch kit
08:51And then a few tools right there. So nothing too crazy
08:55And that's about it for your front trunk there
09:00Coming back around to the side taking a quick peek inside you'll see that this is a two plus two seater
09:04So you have those two seats in the back, although not very practical you're not going to fit an adult back here
09:09You'd be hard-pressed to even fit a kid or a car seat back here unless you have that passenger folded up
09:14I guess it is nice to have if you really really do need a seat for whatever reason
09:19You can make it happen not comfortably for either the driver or the passenger in the back seat
09:23But if you really had to you can make it happen as you can see my driving position is back pretty far
09:27So you're not going to be able to fit anyone anyone's legs in there
09:32And then another uncomfortable part is that you know due to the engine and roof mechanism in the back
09:37these are straight up and down so
09:40Probably the most uncomfortable back seat you can sit in
09:43But it is there if you really really needed to use it
09:46And one last thing to note before we head to the interior of the car
09:49At the time of launch for the 992.1 c4s cabriolet
09:51You were looking at a starting price of a hundred and thirty five thousand dollars
09:54Which could easily be specced up to two hundred thousand dollars
09:57But the new starting price for the 992.2 c4s cab is a hundred and fifty one thousand
10:02And before we go ahead and jump into the driver's seat
10:04Take a look at these sport seats and that beautiful bordeaux red along with the rest of the interior
10:10You got the embossed porsche crest right there. Very nice as well as
10:15Whole updated command center and everything with a mix of the analog and digital elements for the 992 generation
10:23Now hopping on in
10:24First thing to note shut that door
10:26You've got your door locks and controls up there your window controls here
10:29And then just like any other car your seat control is down there
10:32And traditional to any 911 you've got your key on the left this one obviously keyless start
10:37So it's this built-in fob there
10:39Which you can actually remove if you need to put the physical key in
10:42But the left key on all 911s dates back to le mans where they would do running starts to the cars
10:47So it's a little bit quicker to jump in start the key with the left
10:50Will they throw it into first gear with their right hand because
10:53Any time save that tenth of a second even counts on the racetrack and porsche has stuck with it ever since
10:59And of course above the key here
11:00We have some of our light control buttons and another thing to note that I don't like they're changing
11:05Since this is the 992.1 on the new 992.2s which are coming out. This is no longer the
11:12Little fob twist there. It's actually a push start button and that button looks so tacky
11:17It's just I don't know why they did away with this. This is cool enough now moving on to the steering wheel
11:21We've seen an evolution from the 991 generation with an updated wheel as well as just about everything else inside and outside of this car
11:28We'll go ahead and put the car into auxiliary mode to take a look at a few things
11:31First things first you've got this all new cluster for the 992s
11:34As you can see you've got that analog tachometer in the middle encompassed by the two flanking lcd screens on either side of it
11:41Wasn't a huge fan of that still all right though because you got that analog gauge in the middle
11:45Although on the 992.2s they're doing away with that completely. So it's going to be a full
11:49Electronic screen now, which i'm not a fan of at all and as for the steering wheel
11:53You've got that awesome updated leather wheel with these kind of floating buttons here
11:56You've got your voice control here along with the volume adjustment there. This is the
12:01Individual button so you can program this button to do whatever you want it to do whether that be
12:06say open the exhaust valves or
12:08Turn off the auto start stop. You can set this button to do whatever function you like
12:13You've got the skip ahead for your infotainment music, whatever which kind of weird
12:18There's a skip ahead, but there's no way to skip back
12:20And then to the right side here
12:22You've got your phone button and then the back button to control this right side of the screen if you were to click that
12:27That right there pushes your back button. And then this will control some of the functions that you can sweep through on the screen there
12:36Look at a few of those
12:38And to the right of that dial this button will toggle the control between the right lcd and the left lcd
12:44Which is manipulated with that button there
12:47So this will swap sides for you to control it and then below we have the drive mode button where you can select your different
12:53drive modes between
12:54normal
12:55sport sport plus
12:58Individual and wet individual being where you can set
13:01different types of arrangements for the chassis and exhaust spoiler whatnot to
13:07Suit your liking if it's not one of these specific set modes
13:10I usually always keep the car in sport plus because why not in a 911?
13:14And another thing to note actually about that wet mode is that if it senses the ground is wet
13:19The car will automatically put it into wet mode and lastly on your drive mode select dial here
13:23This middle button is your sport response
13:25If you push that you will have a little bit of an increase in power for that sport response
13:30It starts with a 20 second timer and counts down there
13:33It's for that little extra oomph on the road when you step on it
13:36And I believe when you put the car into launch control, which we'll see in a little bit
13:40I always hit that button for the sport response, but i'm pretty sure it will automatically
13:44Adjust to it
13:45So you don't even need to hit that if you put the car in launch mode when you're launching
13:48Now that covers all our steering wheel buttons moving on to the column here
13:52You'll see we've got a few stocks that come off of it. This right here is for your cruise control this year
13:57We've got our turn signals and brights obviously and on the right all our wiper controls here
14:02And of course last but not least on this beautiful steering wheel
14:04We've got our paddles here left side your downshift paddle right side your upshift paddle
14:09Which you can put the car into a manual mode by clicking this m here
14:12And it will allow you to shift gears on your own with these paddles
14:16Now before moving on to the rest of the interior
14:18I'll touch on the sport package that this c4s is optioned with which gets you the aforementioned sport chrono package
14:24Sport exhaust and the porsche active suspension management or pasm sport suspension
14:28Which lowers the car by 10 millimeters and also unlocks a stiffer setting for the adaptive dampers
14:33Now dive in a little bit deeper into pasm for those that are unfamiliar
14:37In normal mode the damper force is increased if the vertical movement of the body exceeds a certain value
14:42So for example, you know when driving over bumps in the road prevents instability of the car
14:46So in contrast sport mode slightly reduces the damper force as the car's body movements increase to improve contact between the wheels and the road
14:53And this prevents any hopping or displacement of the car while at the same time improves comfort
14:57So in normal mode depending on the vehicle speed and lateral acceleration
15:02The damper force is set differently for the inner side and outer side of the vehicle when cornering
15:06And this prevents vehicle instability and increases the driving precision
15:09So the damper characteristics are adjusted individually for the front and rear axle during acceleration during gear changes
15:14And when the accelerator pedal is released now also included in the sport package is the sport chrono pack which gets you things
15:21Such as select driving modes launch control some transmission tuning the dash mounted stopwatch timer, which we've got right here with the clock
15:30Pretty soon right there
15:31Your pcm performance display mode stiffer suspension tuning
15:34Although this car takes that a step further since it's got the full sport package and pasm options
15:39As well as porsche's active driveline mounts tire temp monitors and the porsche sport response technology
15:45I think it's a no-brainer for any porsche
15:47Especially any 911 to option it with the sport chrono now move it over here to the center of the car before we get an
15:52Infotainment we'll start with all the buttons and everything here
15:54We've got our nose lift
15:55Which will lift the front of the car just a bit if you need to get out of a driveway
16:00Or a steep incline speed bump, whatever that may be
16:02Although I don't find there to be any issues with regular 911s like this a little different in the rs's, but i've
16:09Never encountered a situation where it's necessary to use that
16:12However, I guess it is a nice option if you want that and then we've got our sport exhaust controls here
16:17Of course your hazard lights this will turn off your traction control and then this will activate the different pasm modes for the car
16:25Now coming down a little bit more we've got the ac vents obviously as well as over here and over here
16:32Starting with this. You've got your defrosters for the front and rear windshield
16:36You've got your climate controls here. So temperature for your ac and then your fan mode button there
16:42This here will adjust the volume for the infotainment
16:45Which you can also do on the steering wheel with that
16:48And then this will allow you to control some of the options on the screen
16:51If you don't feel like messing with it with the touchscreen while you're driving just need to make a few adjustments
16:56You could do so with this button right here and moving down to your gear selector here
17:01One of the only things I don't like about the 992 personally
17:03Well apart from this piano black that they put everywhere
17:06I'm, not sure why they decided to move some of the buttons around these are cool
17:10But I don't know the the layout of the 991s was just a lot more high quality looking down the sides here kind of weird
17:15They did away with that and decided to just use that piano black
17:19Not big on that
17:20But the only thing I don't like about the 992s most of them at least is the weird little usb stick gear selector here
17:27We'll go ahead and i'll turn the car on real quick so we can get a better look at that
17:31You pull it down towards you for drive
17:34push it away for reverse as we can see there and then click that for park and again, this is the
17:40Manual button back to the overall design for the gear selector not a huge fan that they did away with the regular
17:48Pull down lever that was in all the other porsches. Uh, the 991s. I think it's just
17:53Compliments the car much more higher quality looking so not sure why they chose to go with this in the 992s
18:00Although if you option it with the uh, seven speed manual, which I would have personally done if I specced the car
18:05You don't have to worry about that and it's kind of funny that the only 992 that doesn't have this weird little gear selector
18:12well, other than the manuals, of course is the
18:15gt3s
18:16They don't have this even the automatic pdk ones. They don't have the little
18:22usb stick you've got the actual lever so
18:25Not sure the reason behind it
18:26But one of the few things that I don't like about the 992 and continuing down the column a little bit more here
18:32We'll see that nice 911 detailing there again with that kind of floating design. That's also mimicked right here with these buttons
18:39You've got your soft top convertible controls. It's open right now. We'll go ahead and close it do so by just holding that down
18:44and
18:45We'll shut the roof and that again is done in just 12 seconds
18:49So pretty quick and can be done at speeds up to 31 miles an hour
18:53And we'll open that back up
18:56Same deal 12 seconds up to 31 miles an hour
18:59To open a roof
19:04Below your soft top controls there. You've got your mesh wind deflector
19:07You just hold that button down and it will deploy your wind deflector, which actually works very very well
19:13I don't really drive with it up. I probably will for the sake of audio later on in the video
19:18But I kind of like that open air wind experience
19:20However, when it is up it does its job very well and you get minimal wind inside the cabin
19:25Now flanking each side of your convertible controls for the respective seat
19:29You've got your cooled seat selection here for the fans as well as heated for both the driver and passenger side
19:34And then below the cup holder, which we'll get to in a second. You've got your parking brake
19:38Just pull it to activate it push it to turn it off
19:42And then in the middle here where we've got our key
19:44We've got the cup holder, which is kind of cool. You can actually pull this out if you want to swap it for
19:50this right here
19:52Just pop that in and that's just kind of a
19:55Little cubby put the key in I always just leave the cup holder in because it holds the key too
19:59If you don't want to drink in there
20:01But that's just another nice little feature that you can swap out if you don't want the cup holder
20:05Now you already caught a little glimpse of it
20:07But moving on to the glove box here pretty decent size as you can see
20:11I just have a little portable charger manual on there and then this is that
20:14Other attachment if you want to get rid of the cup holder, but it is a nicely sized glove box
20:19So lots of stuff you can fit in there and then another thing to note that passenger cup holder
20:23Right here press that out and that will deploy
20:26they did away with the uh
20:28Set up they had the 991s were
20:31Just about right here. There's this little flip down thing that you'd hit and they'd both pop out there
20:35And I guess they decided it was better to opt for the center one here along with that one
20:38Although I did like the uh, the previous generations, but these both work very well above us here
20:44We obviously have our little sun visors pop out just like this
20:48They don't deploy any further than that
20:49But that's all you're really needing this and same with the passenger side
20:52Then of course our rear view mirror here as well as your light controls for overhead lining and your sos button there
20:58And before we move on to the pcm infotainment got one more look at that awesome sport chrono
21:04Lap timer and clock right there on the dash
21:08And for a little demo of the different exhaust notes, this is in normal with the
21:13Sport exhaust valves closed. We'll let you hear the back of that now at idle
21:20And now we'll go ahead and put it in sport and sport plus which opens the valves
21:25As you can see on screen here and then move around to the back so you can hear them at idle
21:33All right, now we'll go ahead and take a look at the pcm infotainment
21:36I put the top up so it's a little bit less glare, but we've got that 10.9 inch display for the pcm
21:42Which is the porsche communication management supports apple carplay not android auto
21:47It's awesome. It's the update's fantastic
21:49It's streamlined quick easy to use not too distracting when you're driving and you've got all your different menus here from your navigation to media selection
21:57Bluetooth hookups for the phone and everything
21:59Climate and then down here. You can control a few other apps as well. A lot of different options on here
22:05I usually leave in car
22:07Gives you an overview of all the controls and everything
22:09And then you can this so this is the additional sport chrono pcm screen that comes with the package
22:15If you go back up here to drive
22:17You could also select your modes from the screen here in addition to the dial on the wheel, but go ahead put in sport plus
22:23Here the valves open up
22:25And then if you want to you can hold that down that will deploy the spoiler
22:29And that also activates the pasm when you put it in sport plus there as you can see the chassis goes from normal to sport
22:35And that just about covers our interior as you can see
22:38Mostly everything leather in here all these nice high quality touch points from your dash to the door cards and panels there
22:45Everything. Oh one more thing almost forgot. You've got your little center console not too big can't fit much in there
22:50But you could put a cell phone wallet keys, whatever
22:53But yeah that covers your interior of the 992 c4 s cab
22:59Now last thing i'm going to do before we take off here
23:02Not fun, but gonna get in the back and show you how little room there is
23:06You can fit someone back there, but i'm not going to even be able to get this close probably so hop in the back here
23:11I even move the seat up a little bit. So it's not as far back right now as it would be when i'm driving
23:17Yeah, as you can see there is not much space back here
23:20I am fully upright
23:22Yeah, I can't even get this
23:23closed
23:26But you know if you had to
23:28Shove the driver up towards the wheel
23:31And fit someone back here
23:32You could technically um, and it does have seat belt
23:35So if you really needed to shove people in the back seat, you could get it done
23:38Just not comfortably and like I said, you know, these aren't
23:42Even really flat. They're almost at a forward leaning angle because of the engine and roof mechanism back here
23:49But yeah, there you have it and hopping out since no one really uses this
23:52um
23:53You actually can pop these down to hide the seat belts if you want since it's
23:57Pretty rare to find people in the back of 911. Although I did see on pch four people in a 992 turbo s
24:04Didn't look comfortable, but still looked like they were having a good time
24:07All right
24:07So now that we've taken a pretty in-depth look of both the inside and outside of the car
24:10Let's do the fun part and let's go for a drive
24:18And again, i've never found the need in the non rs 911 to ever use that
24:24Front axle lift, but it is a nice option to have and now we'll go ahead and we'll drop the car from normal into sport
24:30And then sport plus and also hit that m to utilize the manual shifters and put the car in manual mode
24:37So
24:49Again i'll be putting the roof up in a second. Um, just for the sake of the video the audio and wind noise
24:54Um, but it is a nice day to have it down. I will say and clear it up a little bit
25:07So
25:23And we'll go ahead and put that mesh wind deflector up here
25:27As well as the windows up hopefully be a little bit quieter
25:34Yeah, it helps a little bit
25:37And I will say with it up like this now you have virtually zero wind inside the cabin
25:42Which is super nice if you don't want your hair flying all over the place, but to still have that open roof feeling
25:51Great open air experience in this car
26:07So
26:37So
26:53Another thing that is so awesome about this car is how rigid it is. There's
26:57No flex to it, you know that you would find in many other convertibles
27:01A lot of the older 911 cabriolets too in this there's just no flex to it
27:27And again, you've got that very tactile feedback steering
27:31a little bit heavier given that this is an all-wheel drive, so not as light precise steering as the
27:36c2s is
27:38um
27:39But again, that's that's a given when you're dealing with all-wheel drive
27:42But that engine mounted right over that rear axle is just so so planted. All right, so no one around
27:48We're gonna go ahead and we're gonna launch it
28:01So
28:04Not bad not bad at all
28:12And we'll go ahead and put that roof up just for the sake of the video
28:17Sorry about all that wind noise
28:20Kind of hard to cancel out when you have the top down
28:31So
28:35And as you can probably already tell that
28:37443 horsepower engine is more than enough power for the road, right? It's no turbo s or rs, but still
28:45It's perfectly adequate for the road
28:47There's going to be very few occasions where you're going to need more power than that on the street. It gets the job done
29:02And
29:04Those pdk shifts are just so quick so instantaneous
29:08Um personally, I would still spec one of these with the manual seven-speed gearbox. Just given the car it is
29:13It's not a track car. So i'd rather have that enjoyment of a manual analog gearbox
29:19Um, but still with that said there's no competing with the speed of that dual clutch gearbox
29:23I mean the pdk is just such a flawless transmission. I in no other supercar
29:29Or any other vehicle have I experienced a gearbox quite like porsche's pdk. It is genuinely flawless
29:36And i'm sure you guys already picked up. There's a little crack through the windshield here
29:40Covers over kind of towards the middle not sure what caused that but again, this is this is a rental
29:46So, I mean not every renter respects the car takes care of it. The alignment's a little bit off
29:50um
29:51that crack in the windshield, so I don't know who had it last but clearly
29:55Did something to it, so i'm sure that'll be fixed soon, but this car does have
29:5940 000 miles on it. And like I said, it is a rental not everyone respects the vehicle
30:03So that kind of just comes with the territory
30:07Other than that though, no flaws in this car
30:19And even with that, uh passive suspension in sport it is still just so smooth
30:25So
30:28And the power delivery is so progressive and predictable very linear response
30:34And that car just communicates with the driver very well, it's very approachable
30:39Super comfortable and fun car to drive all around
30:42So
30:50And no matter where you are in that rev range the uh, the power just comes on so smoothly
31:12Oh
31:15And overall this car is just so balanced and efficient
31:18This really is the perfect sports car that you can daily especially this one given that it is all-wheel drive
31:25um now personally for me if I were to daily a
31:29Carrera s I would probably go for the c2s versus the c4s. Just given that it never really rains here
31:34It's not like i'm in the snow at all
31:37But this specific c4s
31:40Is the perfect car if you are somewhere where the climate's a little bit more wet or you get snow
31:44You could drive this thing year-round without any issues if you had to throw chains on it even um,
31:50It's another option you can get from the factory if you want a set of um chains for this car
31:56but even without them, I mean all-wheel drive you could take this thing just about anywhere and
32:01super comfortable
32:03I mean, it's you don't have the space of an suv obviously
32:06But a decent amount of room in that front trunk and it's not like you're really going to be having people in the back
32:10So there's some room back there to fit stuff
32:12um
32:13yeah, if you don't have
32:15kids, you got to shove in the back or extra people or
32:18Big items you take with you. There is no reason that you could not daily a 911 like for me personally
32:24I daily a cayenne, but there's nothing that I do on a day-to-day basis or need really that I couldn't also do in this car
32:32So that's another nice thing is how perfect this would be as a daily
32:41And for your gas consumption you get 21 city 30 highway 26 combined which is also pretty impressive
32:48I mean, that's that's better gas mileage than i'm getting in my cayenne. So that says something too
32:55And comparing this
32:56With the coupe the cabriolet, obviously, there's some drawbacks having that soft top roof, but
33:03They're almost canceled out in this car with how quiet the road and wind noise is when you have it shut in here
33:09Um, it's not like a lot of other convertibles as well as how rigid and stiff the chassis is you're not sacrificing much
33:16It's certainly indistinguishable on the road with the coupe
33:19um
33:20The only time you would really notice it would be on a racetrack if you're really pushing the car to its limit
33:24And if you're buying a cabriolet, it's just a different demographic like you're not really going to be tracking the car
33:31And most tracks won't even allow it due to the structural integrity of the roof
33:37But like I said on the road indistinguishable from the coupe
33:47Not sacrificing much
33:54So
34:24So
34:34And just about two days ago, I actually, uh tracked a 992
34:38uh carrera s coupe the c2s onto c4s
34:42um absolute blast and I mean
34:45Comparing that to that. I've driven a lot on the road
34:47There is no difference on the road between the c2s and the c4s cab
34:51Uh, well other than the all-wheel drive obviously
34:54But the only disparities kind of come in when you're on a track where the coupe's going to have that advantage over the cabriolet
35:01Beautiful spider right here
35:07All right doing a little coffee run here
35:11Snag a spot
35:13So
35:20All righty perfect
35:27Try not to get run over
35:39Not a bad spot
35:41Yeah, all right, we got the coffee time to get back on the road
36:01Perfect
36:05All right good to go
36:11So
36:15Pop her back in manual
36:41So
36:44So
37:06I'm interested to drive one of the 992.2 soon to see how the differences stack up with the 992.1s like we're in today
37:13um
37:31And again, I always say i'm gonna try to keep the yapping at a minimum
37:36But it seems like I always end up talking through the whole video anyways
37:43So
37:48And again that pasm adaptive suspension is just so nice makes such a difference in these cars
38:13So
38:25Go ahead and demonstrate that top retraction in motion
38:43So
38:53Beauty I really don't get all the hate with the uh hunchback. I think it looks good
39:13So
39:27Yeah, this thing is just so much nicer with that top down
39:34Especially when the weather's like this 98% of the year that turbo spool just sounds so good, too
39:44So
39:57Not too smart, but
40:01Yeah, one noise that I will never ever get tired of is a porsche flat-six
40:08I mean, come on
40:14So
40:21How could you ever get sick of that
40:29It's really like a symphony
40:30I know some cars as good as they sound like some of the lamborghini v10s and 12s
40:34I love them. But after a little while they get a little little obnoxious this though. It's just
40:39It's the right volume. It's the right pitch. It's just
40:43It's like music to my ears. It always sounds good. It never gets tiresome
40:49Something else awesome about the uh cabriolet is that it so closely mimics those uh
40:56class leading dynamics of the coupe
40:59You forfeit so little with the 992 when it comes to going from the cabriolet to the coupe
41:05where it doesn't have nearly the amount of drawbacks previous generations did when choosing between the
41:11coupe or the convertible
41:13and
41:16It is nice to have that option for open air personally, I don't think I would
41:20go for a uh
41:22Cabriolet, just because i'm not a big convertible. Wow. Nice paying attention that audi came about an inch from slamming into those pylons
41:29um
41:30as I was saying, I just
41:32I'm, not a huge convertible guy. It's nice, but I can never really see the need for me to live with one
41:44Although I do love the targas I think if I if if I were to pick a
41:50Money is no object daily. I think I would probably go for a
41:55gts targa
41:56Such an awesome looking car
42:01And again, especially around here
42:04And you get the best of both worlds with that open air experience from the targa
42:08only real drawback is that
42:11Big increase in weight with the big glass targa top, but
42:15who cares
42:17i've driven plenty of those
42:19All different generations, but even the the 992. Yeah, you have that big roof
42:22But it's not really like you're going to be tracking that kind of car anyways
42:25So it's no drawback that you would face on the road really
42:40So
43:11So
43:31All around just such a phenomenal well balanced well driving car
43:37That's why there really is no substitute for portra
43:41Again with all the different cars i've driven pretty much every supercar every modern supercar from every manufacturer
43:48There's a reason why porsche is my favorite
43:51And it's funny because this is a sports car. It's not even a supercar
43:54So
44:10So so good in every way
44:14You don't get any of that annoying wind noise and kind of rattle that you do in a lot of soft top vehicles
44:24So
44:54So
45:24So
45:54So
46:08Again just zero flex in that chassis. It's so nice so rigid for a convertible
46:24So
46:35And again that turbo lag is just so so minimal it's almost non-existent you kind of forget this thing is turbocharged
46:42There we go another 992 c4s cab that one's got the aero kit on it, too
46:48Option with the rs design wheels as well
46:52Let's see what's up with this guy
46:57Nice spec i'm shooting a review on it right now. Oh, okay. Yeah. I love that awesome spec. Oh, thank you very much beautiful
47:04Pretty awesome almost the same spec. Uh, that one's got the aero kit on it as well
47:09The cabriolet top in black instead of red like this one and then the yellow calipers
47:14Which means he's got the carbon ceramics on it
47:17um, and it was also
47:18Spec'd with those rs spider wheels
47:23Now once again to reiterate just how
47:25Incredibly comfortable and practical this thing is if you really wanted to daily it there's
47:31Not really anything this car can't do
47:33Other than some serious off-roading obviously or carrying a bunch of passengers. But other than that
47:39Not much this car can't handle
47:42Well, ladies and gentlemen that brings us to the end of our pov review and drive in a porsche 911 carrera 4s cabriolet
47:49Again, I want to give a huge shout out to monza exotics for making this video possible
47:52Go hit them up if you're in socal looking around any luxury or exotic car as always. Thanks for watching
