00:00For the first time, Alice Kuo admitted having been an unwitting victim to illegal POGO operations,

00:06a claim the entire Senate panel held in disbelief. Likewise, Senator Issa Ontiveros let the cat out

00:13of the bag on a retired PNP chief allegedly having links to POGOs and an unsavory character,

00:20an undesirable Chinese national who faked his Filipino citizenship. Our Daniel Manalastas

00:27has more on the supposedly last Senate hearing, which has just been extended.

00:33This is what this Ms. Mayor Alice Kuo claimed during the Senate hearing on illegal POGOs.

00:59Not a mastermind, but rather an alleged victim.

01:02Senator JV Herzeto also wondered if some international crime syndicate was using her.

01:29Tony Yang, alleged brother of former economic advisor Michael Yang during the Duterte

01:45administration, also faced a panel of senators who questioned personal and identification

01:51documents like his birth certificate.

01:53When I was here, when I was two to three years old, it was my grandfather

02:22who helped me come up with this birth certificate.

02:37It looks to me, Mr. Yang, the birth certificate is fake.

02:40Ontiveros also questioned Yang's LTO driver's license application

02:45and alien certificate of registration.

03:15Senators found it hard to squeeze information and the truth from Yang because of the language

03:20barrier.

03:21Hence, a need for a translator in the hearing.

03:24But senators aren't buying it.

03:50It's really saddening.

04:00Next, senators grilled Yang over alleged involvement in POGOs.

04:04Yang denied having POGO-related business.

04:07But according to Hontiveros,

04:21Now, I know that Orawan is a POGO service provider.

04:25So, before, I had a transaction with a POGO company for renting out a condo unit for them.

04:37Which, all right, please continue, Ms. Carolyn.

04:39The name, the name that I had a transaction with is Tiosri.

04:43Senators also revealed pictures showing Yang with a former PNP chief.

04:48It was just us visiting the head of police in Cagayan during that time who is seated in the

04:55center.

04:56In a text message, retired General Acorda said he loved his country and the PNP organization

05:02and only did what he needed to do as a police officer and Filipino.

05:06Senator Rola de la Rosa, meanwhile, read the statement of the Council of Chiefs

05:11after allegation of an unnamed ex-PNP chief who allegedly aided Goh in fleeing the country.

05:18This is a sweeping accusation which maligns and brings dishonor to all of us, former chiefs

05:25who have dedicated the best years of our lives in the service of the Filipino nation.

05:31However, if the information turns out false after validating the report,

05:37we hereby demand a public apology, no less, from the same officer.

05:42Retired General Raul Villanueva, who divulged the information, said sorry.

05:47I don't want to put malice on our chief PNPs.

05:51I'm sorry if that's how our chief PNPs interpret it, but I hold them in respect

05:58because each of these chief PNPs has their own legacy.

06:02Senators later on held an executive session with Goh,

06:05and they invited former PNP chief Acorda to the next hearing.
