00:00The number of Chinese ships in the West Philippine Sea has increased to 251.

00:05The largest number since the AFP monitored the situation there.

00:08Chino Gaston is the one who got it right.

00:14More than a week after the BRP Teresa Magbanua was forced to leave the Escoda Shoal,

00:19almost 100 Chinese ships were added to the entire West Philippine Sea.

00:23Because of that, the number of Chinese ships in the WPS reached 251.

00:29The largest number since the AFP started to monitor and count them.

00:35This is the largest increase.

00:37From 157, it went down a bit, then it went up to 251.

00:41For whatever reason, I don't want to speculate on that.

00:44We continue monitoring, we continue performing our mandate.

00:47Notably, the number of Chinese Navy warships in the Escoda Shoal

00:51from 4 to 16 September is now 11.

00:557 Chinese Coast Guard and 3 Chinese Militia Vessels were added.

01:00Even in Yungin Shoal, where the BRP Sierra Madre, 62 Chinese Militia,

01:067 Chinese Coast Guard, and 1 Research Vessel are monitoring.

01:10But it doesn't mean that China already has control of the Escoda Shoal.

01:16The ICAD activities in the West Philippine Sea is designed to curtail us from moving around.

01:23This has been debunked by the Arbitral Tribunal 2016.

01:27And we have to continue pushing back against this because the international law is behind us.

01:33The only thing necessary to legitimize the presence of the PLA in the West Philippine Sea

01:40is for the Philippine instrumentality in the maritime domain to stop performing its mandate.

01:46Although the Philippines is unable to face China's strength in the sea,

01:50it is said that the number of warships was gradually added.

01:54Earlier, two fast attack interdiction craft arrived from the State of Israel

01:59which is capable of disposing of missiles and joining the incoming ships to the Philippine Sea.

02:05The Philippine bought the Shumna attack craft for P10 billion

02:09as part of the country's AFP modernization and self-reliant defense posture.

02:22which enhances the Philippine Navy's capability to conduct rapid and effective maritime interdiction operations.

02:29The arrival of these vessels underscores the continued modernization of the Philippine Navy.
