Kate Abdo apologises to husband Malik after hilarious gaffe during Champions League TV coverage as Thierry Henry HIDES, while Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards are left in stitches

Kate 'Abdo' left the star-studded CBS Sports panel in stitches with an amusing mistake while fronting their Champions League coverage on Wednesday night.

The presenter accidentally introduced herself with the surname Abdo - by which most of the public knows her - despite recently marrying Malik Scott and adopting his.

She and Scott tied the knot at an intimate ceremony on Sunday, September 8, and thanked God for the gift of marriage on Instagram.

And it appears her new reality is taking some getting used to, with her mistake leaving Jamie Carragher fighting for his ribcages' lives.

'Good evening and a very warm welcome to our Champions League post-match show, it is so good to have you with us,' began the presenter in a smooth fashion.

Then came the blunder as she began introducing herself: 'Kate ab-'.

She quickly caught herself and held her head in her hands as she apologized to Malik, who is Deontay Wilder's boxing coach.

Carragher burst out laughing and leaned back while Micah Richards let out a shocked roar and quickly diverted his attention to the sanctuary of his notes.

Thierry Henry, who people have joked is in love with Scott due to their on-air chemistry, hid his face behind his papers and rubbed his chin.

'That was worse than your Fox one,' barked Carragher, nodding to the time Scott introduced CBS Sports with the name of a rival broadcaster.

From there things went smoothly as the presenter continued with her introduction.

'Kate SCOTT, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards. Good to see you, everybody!'

At Kate and Malik's wedding earlier this month, the latter's son and daughter were present and posed for a picture with them after the nuptials.

Fans were quick to take to social media to offer their 'condolences' to Henry given the ongoing joke that he is in love with presenter Scott.

One social media user wrote: 'Keep Uncle Titi in your prayers in these tough times. Kate Abdo just got married.

Born in Manchester, England, Scott initially worked with networks such as Sky Sports and Fox Sports before making her mark in the United States. She is widely recognized for her work as the host of CBS Sports' coverage of the UEFA Champions League.

Abdo's career took off when she became a regular presenter on Sky Sports, focusing on European football and other major sporting events. But it was her fluency in Spanish, German, and French that made her stand out.

The 43-year-old presenter worked across global platforms, covering events like the Ballon d'Or, where she conducted interviews with elite athletes in multiple languages.
