00:00My name is Leanne Williams and I'm running for Poteau Ward in the Warrnambool City
00:04elections and I'm vastly looking forward to it. So what's your reason for running for election?
00:09I've done a lot of work with various groups over the years and I'm keen to consolidate that
00:15together and become a councillor if the people choose to elect me. I've got interest in so many
00:22areas and I'm a former council employee too so I have a good appreciation for the work that
00:28our council does. I'd like to contribute. It's a great place. I'd love to help make it even better.
00:34Yep and what are your priorities on council?
00:37I think child care. Everyone I speak to, if we can help in some way with child care that'd be
00:42fabulous. Housing is obviously an issue. The environment is very close to my heart. Our
00:50foreshore area. I'm really interested in how that draft plan for our foreshore is going to move
00:56forward and I'm interested in encouraging people to have a say all the way through that process.
01:04You know there are roads and rates and rubbish as well too so because that affects everybody's
01:08day-to-day existence. So all of that and more I hope. I want to keep Warrnambool up there.
01:16I'd love to help establish some relation, you know, more relationships, better relationships
01:20with state and federal government. Whatever it takes to help Warrnambool and our wider region
01:27get that bit further down the track. Create those more opportunities for our kids.
01:32Everyone. I'm looking forward to it. Looking forward to the fight.
