00:00Jesus told the parable of ten merchants who were waiting for the bridegroom to arrive, five were prepared and five weren't. He called the five who were prepared wise and the five who weren't foolish.
00:16Are you prepared or not prepared? Are you wise or foolish? Jesus wants you to be prepared. You will be wise if you prepare yourself to meet Jesus. I was prepared to meet Jesus because I was prepared to meet Jesus. We are comforted today.
00:36When you pass away, will your family be comforted because they know that you are ready to meet Jesus? You don't have to wait years to be able to come here to meet Jesus. My job today is to both comfort and help prepare you for the unexpected.
00:53Kai's death was unexpected. She was prepared. Who would be foolish to believe that we decided that Kai was the only one who lost us and would die without our children. Some people spent more time pre-fighting than they planned to spend preparing for their children. Some people spent more time brushing their wives and their children than they spent preparing for their children. Some people spent more time studying than they spent preparing for their children.
01:22First things first, prepare for eternity and then fly to heaven. Prepare for eternity and then enter the highway. Prepare for eternity and then enter heaven. Eternity is a long, long time. Jesus and I, all the Christians on earth and in heaven, would like each of us to prepare for eternity and to have it on our own.
01:45For my experience of being in several car wrecks, that is not the time to prepare for eternity. If a pilot is waiting until an emergency to prepare for eternity, he or she will probably be doing many other things than prepare for eternity. I should have let Kai not wait until her emergency to prepare for eternity, but prepared for years to come.
02:08As for us, Kai is in heaven. I'm trying to picture heaven in my mind. It's heaven-like. New Jerusalem is described in Revelation 21. It's 1,400 miles north and south, 1,400 miles east and west, and 1,400 miles south and north. That's as far as from here in Mexico and over Colorado. Then there are 8 hours of work in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and Colorado.
02:37Scripture tells us the height as well is the square miles. So, if we're to layer heaven, I don't know if you get it or not, but I suppose if we're to layer every 10-mile, 53,000-foot-high layers, there'd be enough room for sky, clouds, airplanes, and airplanes in between those layers.
03:00There'd be 140 layers each 10-miles high. The area of New Jerusalem would be as large as 140 borders, plus 140 California, plus 140 Arizona, plus 140 New Mexico, plus 140 Utah, plus 140 Nevada, plus 140 Colorado.
03:23The total square miles would be 274.4 million square miles. Why would God make such a big number? Scientists tell us that the total number of people who have never heard that word is twice the number that are alive today.
03:42Scripture tells us that it is not His will that any should perish, but that all might be saved. So, I'm not going to make a big number for all of us to be saved and go to heaven. Jesus said He's prepared a place for us.
03:59It's amazing that Jesus created and prepared heaven big enough for all of us that any would choose not to be saved, not to go to heaven. There are several pastors here today who would be willing to help you with prayer.
04:17If you'd like to pray with us, we'll discuss any questions that you have. We'll lead you to the highest heaven.
04:47Lord God, creator of all things, thank you for life, breath, and freedom. Thank you for your care and promise. Thank you for providing a place in between the earth and the fire.
