00:00Each and every game for those in the hunt for October has some
00:08sort of playoff ramification that of course the case
00:11yesterday up in the six in the rubber match between the Mets
00:15and the Blue Jays. Bowden Francis who is named after Bobby
00:20Bowden and his father a big Florida State fan just to
00:24confirm in two of his last four starts DRS has entered the
00:28ninth inning writing a no no a no hit bid. He has been great
00:34since the start of August as we will share in eight starts. He
00:39is only allowed eight total earned runs including just one
00:43yesterday as he took the no hit bid into the top of the ninth
00:46Francisco Lindor at the dish hits a solo shot against
00:50Francis. So then he is taken out of the game from then on the
00:54New York Mets in a tied baseball game at one all in the top of
00:58the ninth score five more runs including a three run home run
01:02off the bat of Francisco Alvarez and the New York Mets
01:05win six to two scoring all six runs in the ninth after not
01:10recording a single hit in the first eight frames. Yeah. I
01:15wonder how analytics actually like that game from Bowden
01:18Francis. The reason I bring that up we very rarely see this.
01:20He's going into the ninth inning with a no hitter Ben.
01:22He's got one strikeout which means the ball was in play
01:25constantly throughout the night because he only had one
01:27walk here. That's incredible. Like that bat bit rate that he
01:31has batting average of balls in play. That's astoundingly good
01:34and quite frankly extremely lucky. But also if you are the
01:38Mets love to see the fight back you're beaten down for
01:41eight innings here in a game you absolutely must win to hang
01:44around in that wild card race and in the ninth inning it's
01:47like hey man this guy's coming out of here again. We haven't
01:48touched him all night and then you get six total runs to win
01:52six to two. That is an impressive performance because
01:54all if you're on just social media you're saying hey this
01:57guy's got a no hitter going to go out. They're going to win
01:58one nothing. And then if you just flash back in a couple
02:01minutes and saw the Mets scored six times on a guy that had a
02:04no hitter into the ninth. Now granted he only had the one
02:06earned run got knocked out of the game but the bullpen
02:08completely fell through. That is a great win for the New York
02:11Mets in one of those games where you're just throwing in
02:13the towel saying nothing is working here and let alone you
02:15score six runs. And as I pointed out on the opening how
02:19could you have this in the top of the ninth inning with a guy
02:21throwing a no hitter in a one to nothing game lose in nine
02:25innings not even in extras. You're total. That's got to be
02:28one of the worst beats I've ever seen.
