00:54simple to me. This guy's going
00:58to have a whole life later when

01:01concussions. I don't care what
01:03anybody says this guy's had so
01:05many concussions. I have been
01:06around athletes with
01:08concussions and they all end
01:09the same way horribly. Well,
01:12look definitely two is a very
01:14serious topic and I appreciate
01:16your nice intro Scott, but what
01:17I don't have is a ringside seat
01:19to the Canelo fight next to you
01:20so that is unbelievable. That is
01:22truly unbelievable that you do
01:24not I have all people that
01:26I thought you would hook me up

01:45concussion is too many. So

02:26concussion is serious and it
02:28becomes more susceptible. Look,
02:31will he be ultimately cleared?
02:34I don't know. Bottom line is I
02:36hope he is cleared where he has
02:37a choice to play or retire. And
02:40I'm great for him to say, I
02:42decide to retire. If he's going
02:44to come back, maybe he comes
02:45back with a guardian cap,
02:46whether that helps or not is a
02:48different story. But I will
02:50give you this. I agree with
02:51everything you said, Scott,
02:52about the concussions. But the
02:54posturing that you see in the
02:55fencing response does not
02:57necessarily correlate to
02:59severity. The safest thing for
03:01two to do is, of course, stop
03:03playing the collision sport of
03:05football. But you could argue
03:07that's the same with his other
03:0852 teammates. Let's let him
03:10clear from the symptoms.
03:12Hopefully it's quickly. And
03:14then he and his family can make
03:15an informed decision as to what
03:17he does or doesn't want to do
03:19next and what's safe or not
03:21safe. I'm glad that all rule
03:22them this week already. No one's
03:24rushing him back. Listen, this
03:28guy got 35 mil signing bonus.
03:30He got 100 million guaranteed
03:31first two years. He's getting
03:32the money that add up to 35
03:35with a buck. This guy's got
03:37more money than God and his
03:39future is at risk. His life is
03:42at risk. Advanced dementia is
03:44at risk. Alzheimer's, CTE,
03:46brain damage, memory loss. I
03:48mean, you name it slurring. I
03:50mean, who needs it? Like, I
03:52can't imagine how honestly, how
03:54stupid do you have to be if
03:56someone gave you $130 million
03:59and said, all you have to do is
04:02stop playing football because
04:03we're giving you this money
04:04anyway, no matter what, you get
04:06the money who in their right
04:07mind would choose to have
04:09advanced dementia and brain
04:10damage the rest of their life
04:11when you're as young as him,
04:12he'd have to be literally
04:14stupid.
04:17Well, I hear you there. And the
04:19scary thing, the scary thing
04:22about head injury, we don't
04:24know what his life would be
04:26like without this fourth
04:28concussion from already having
04:29the three, right? And so, yeah,
04:32it's, it's, uh, it's look, as
04:34you know, Scott, we've talked
04:35offline and personally, the
04:37whole CTE issue and players and
04:39especially those that, you
04:40know, may have committed
04:41suicide as a result of it. It's
04:43near and dear to my heart. So I
04:44want what's best for two and no
04:45question. I'm just trying to
04:47spew the medical facts.
04:50Yeah, fair enough. Now, listen,
04:52the Steelers just gave fire
04:53moved a bunch of money.
04:54Meanwhile, he's had three
04:55concussions. Uh, when I said the
04:58story earlier in the show, when
04:59the thrashers in the NHL
05:01drafted Patrick Stefani had
05:02multiple concussions, who in
05:04their right mind would sign a
05:05guy to a multi-year
05:06multimillion-dollar deal to be
05:08a number one draft pick with
05:09the guy that had four
05:10concussions. I was like, Don,
05:12what are you doing? Like you
05:13must be crazy. And sure enough,
05:15he lasted five minutes in the
05:17NHL last week. Uh, McCaffrey,
05:20uh, didn't play. Now he's been
05:22ruled out for this Sunday as
05:24well in Minneapolis. Are they
05:26just going to have to IRM doc?
05:29I don't know. I mean, it
05:30depends on how long they're
05:31going to, they want them out
05:32for, but really what it comes
05:33down to this, it all changed
05:35when it went from calf muscle
05:37to Achilles tendonitis. And
05:39here's what the worry is. If
05:41this were a playoff game or
05:42something, he probably would
05:43play. And he's been saying that,
05:45but you can't take the risk
05:47of rupture. Even if the risk of
05:49rupture for an Achilles tendon
05:51after Achilles tendonitis is 1%,
05:53that's still about a hundred
05:55fold higher than it would be
05:57without the tendonitis. And so
05:59I think the 49ers are doing the
06:01right thing and their medical
06:02staff is doing the right, Don
06:04Lynch, Kyle Shanahan doing the
06:05right thing by CMC. They want
06:08them later this year. So get
06:09them right and take away that
06:11very small risk of Achilles
06:12tendon rupture.
06:13Oh, real quick. What are the
06:15Packers doing with love? It's
06:16like Lafleur's playing games
06:18with the media. Like you're not
06:19serious. They're going to play
06:20this guy.
06:22Well, when it happened, everyone
06:23was worried about season ending
06:25the shift in the kneecap. We
06:26said, we don't think it's that
06:27bad. And we don't think he's
06:29going to hit IR. I think it's
06:30pretty clear right now. I guess
06:32he still could hit IR, but
06:33they've listed him as
06:34questionable. No one thinks
06:35he's going to play this week,
06:37but if he can has any chance of
06:39playing before week six, which I
06:41think he does, I would target
06:43maybe week four division rival,
06:44Minnesota Vikings. They're not
06:46going to put him on IR and he
06:48doesn't need surgery, lead leg
06:50brace and try and get him back.
06:51And part of it is he's so
06:53valuable. Malik Wilson just got
06:55there, barely had a cup of
06:56coffee.
06:57Real quick. I got, uh, 15
06:59seconds. What is the deal with
07:01Hollywood Brown? He thought he
07:02was going to play. Now he's IR.
07:05Yeah. And if it's a surgical
07:06procedure with incision and
07:07reconstruction, he's done for
07:09the season. If the procedure to
07:10put it back, maybe it could come
07:12back midway through the year.
