Digital reporter Emma Downey gives her top five binge worthy TV picks to watch this week.
Transcript
00:00Hi guys, so if you're anything like me, you are getting very excited for this Sunday because
00:08it's autumn, start of autumn, network, cosy nights in, lots of movie marathons, TV marathons,
00:16box sets and on that note, I have been watching a few TV series, thrillers this week and I
00:23thought I would share them with you just in case you're stuck for something to watch.
00:28So my first one that I've been watching is The Teacher, which is on Channel 5 and it
00:34stars Cora Toynton and Emma Chase Scanlan and anything he's in, I'm biased cos obviously
00:41he's an Irish actor but I just think he's fabulous, anything he's in I will watch.
00:46So it follows the teacher on a retreat and one of the students is found dead and it is
00:56a whodunit. I don't normally guess but I did guess within the second episode of this so I'm
01:01very proud of myself but it is still worth a watch even if you don't guess who it is.
01:05And then the next one, Channel 5 is serving up at the minute, serving up the goods,
01:10is one called The Wives that I have just started watching. So I've watched two episodes of this
01:16and it stars Jo Joyner, who used to be Tanya Bronning in EastEnders, again anything she's
01:21in I'll watch, I love her as well. She usually does provide good thrillers and her friends,
01:28so there's three of them and their fourth friend died a year previous. So it does flash back and
01:34forth when they've met up a year later. Again it's going to be a whodunit. I think by the second
01:40episode I have guessed but again with these type of things I could be wrong, so probably I'm wrong,
01:45but yeah at the minute I'm excited for it because I was watching The Night Sleeper on
01:50BBC One which is about a derailed train which is a cyber attack. I'd describe it as kind of
01:56the speed movie meets Oriental Express, Murder on the Oriental Express. It's good but I veered off
02:02the tracks on episode two of this, pun intended, to watch The Wives so if anybody's got past episode
02:09two let me know. And then Dead and Buried on BBC which is an Irish drama. BBC seems to be serving
02:16up a lot of Irish dramas at the minute after they've done Kin. It's also, I really enjoyed it,
02:22I've watched two seasons of it so they're both I think on BBC now and it also stars Emma Chesca
02:29and then again and it's like a mafia thing but the very first episode you'll not see what's coming by
02:36the end and it does grip you. It's like another show that used to be on called Love Hate so it's
02:41very very good if you haven't watched it. And then Netflix The Perfect Couple starring Nicole
02:46Kidman. The woman doesn't age! It's about a married couple and their family and one of their sons
02:53is getting married and someone, I'll not spoil it, ends up dead, one of the guests, and it's a
03:02whodunit. I didn't guess whodunit but on the fan forums an awful lot of people were like
03:07oh it's so obvious that who it was. I personally didn't think it was but it has a very good cast
03:13so they are my top five picks for this week. If you haven't watched them and you are stuck
03:18I hope you you pick one and enjoy it. Let me know!
