00:00The idea of three promotions in a row is unheard of in women's football in this country,
00:06and yet that is what Newcastle United Women are trying to do this season.
00:10Manager Becky Langley has spoken of being unapologetically ambitious,
00:14but how does she drill that into her players?
00:16I guess that I just try and be that enthusiastic and upbeat with every conversation I have with them.
00:22So there's that almost contagious enthusiasm every day to be better.
00:28So yeah, we're very keen on, as soon as the girls walk through the door, the day's started,
00:32we're raring to go, and this is our goals, this is our aims, and this is where we want to get to.
00:37So we're constantly on them to be better every day, I guess.
00:42But to be honest, they're such driven girls anyway.
00:44We've recruited people who've got the same ambition as us.
00:48So in terms of, you know, it's not always going to be sunshine and roses, of course,
00:52but at the same time, I don't need to be giving motivational speeches to them every day.
00:57They're very motivated, driven individuals anyway.
01:01This is uncharted territory for Newcastle United Women,
01:04but they do not fear what is to come this season in terms of opposition in the Women's Championship.
01:11We are the new kids on the block to a certain degree, so there's a little bit of unknown, I guess.
01:16Any team coming up from the division below, you would imagine, has got a lot of learning to do.
01:22Equally, one thing that is a huge strength of ours is we know how to win.
01:25We know we've got the momentum from two back-to-back promotions.
01:29We know that nobody's ever done that before, went back to back to back.
01:34But at the same time, like I say, we'll be keeping our feet on the ground and taking it game by game
01:40and making sure that we're best prepared to give it our all in every game.
01:44But mistakes are going to be made.
01:46It's the nature of tackling a different beast, I guess.
01:51We're doing everything to make sure we're super prepared going into that season starting on Sunday.
01:56I'm really excited about it.
01:59New signing Deanna Cooper has already been overrode by the response from the supporters
02:05and is relishing getting going.
02:09It's been really good. It's been very different for me.
02:12I'm a Southern girl. I've played for Southern clubs and I've never really left the South, to be honest.
02:19But the players and even the general public, the fans that I've met, have been so welcoming.
02:26And you just get that feel that everyone wants to do well and everyone wants to work hard,
02:31which I think if you ask any of the Geordie girls in the team, that's something that they pride themselves on.
02:36So it's good to be a part of.
02:38Cooper made clear that in every game this season, the side will look to play on the front foot
02:43and ultimately win matches.
02:46We will give our all in every single game for every single minute that we're on the pitch.
02:50And that's, again, something we pride ourselves on.
02:52We will give everything for the badge, everything for the club and everything for the fans,
02:56who I've already seen are absolutely incredible.
