00:00This tour has been great for me because it's taken me right back to those early days.
00:06People forget that The Shadows and I actually started five years before The Beatles did.
00:11And there's always been this thing about Studio 2 at Abbey Road.
00:15Well, of course, when we first went there, it wasn't called Abbey Road.
00:17It was called EMI Recording Studios, the record company's name.
00:21It was when The Beatles got there and they did a fantastic album called Abbey Road.
00:25And quite rightly, I think they changed it to Abbey Road Studios.
00:28But we were there five years before them.
00:32People think that they owned the place, and they did not.
00:37We owned it. We merely rented it to them for a while.
00:41But they did wonders there.
00:43But for me, that corner of Abbey Road,
00:46they still have these big steps that came down from the actual studio area.
00:50And right in the left-hand corner, that's where they stood me and covered me with these things.
00:55In fact, with the drummer here, we're trying to get this curtained.
01:01But that's what it was. I stood behind those to sing.
01:05And I fell in love with the place.
01:07I can see why Paul and the others desperately wanted to be there.
01:10You know, I met him, I don't know, a few years ago.
01:13They were celebrating like 50 or 60 years of EMI.
01:16And he came up to me and said,
01:19I said, what?
01:20He said,
01:23And I said, what are you talking about?
01:25He said, because every time we called, they said,
01:34And I said, Paul, please. And this is absolutely true.
01:36Bruce Welsh is the one that used to book the studios for us.
01:40He came back many, many times and said,
01:43We can't have it because the Beatles are there.
01:46So there we were getting angry with each other for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
01:50But that place was my birthplace.
01:52And I recorded Move It.
02:13Come on, move it, baby, let's move it and I'll move it
02:20Shake it, baby, shake it, baby, please don't lose it
02:26This rhythm that gets into your heart and soul
02:32Well, they love to tell you, baby, it's called rock and roll
02:37Well, they say it's gonna die, but honey, please let's face it
02:44I just don't know what you're going to be facing
02:49Well, violence, eclectus, I've got nothing on
02:53Real country music that just drives along
02:59Honey, move it
03:06Move it
03:29Come on, move it, baby, let's move it and I'll move it
03:36Dance, honey, dance, baby, please don't lose it
03:41You know it's all over town, there's a brand new beat
03:48And it's hanging in the air like a Mississippi
03:54We are fireflies in the night and both fronts broken
04:00Here comes the train and boy, yes, she's smokin'
04:06Headed out from New Orleans to clear to L.A.
04:09You better get ready, it's a brand new day
04:13Yeah, move it, move it
04:18Violence, eclectus, I've got nothing on
04:21Real country music that just drives along
04:27Yeah
04:36Ooh
04:40Ooh
04:52Yeah
05:06Thank you very much
05:08It does take me back, I tell you
05:10I get so happy when I think of that choir in that studio
05:13And of course it wasn't just the Beatles, loads of people recorded it in Abbey Road
