24:34okay welcome back uh yeah let's talk about filmmaking sure
24:40yeah because i'm a filmmaker myself okay yeah uh
24:47so pre-production okay there's three stages we have to some classes i don't know about it okay so
24:53pre-production uh you're scouting for filming location location scouting okay and also you
25:02hire some actors actresses okay and some writers as a producer okay uh sometimes you hire some
25:10director as well okay so and then uh you come up with a story okay pre-production okay okay storyline
25:18screenplay okay and then production okay this is one two three pre-production production and
25:24post-production okay yeah production phase you're filming with camera okay with actors actresses
25:33okay yeah post-production you're editing it putting things together like music background
25:39music and some editing some special effects okay and post-production also distribution
25:46okay you uh submit to some film festivals and marketing there and sales okay or uploading to
25:56some social media online streaming services like getting motion on youtube stuff like that
26:00it is post-production okay okay yeah okay
26:08so uh pre-production yeah you come up with a story okay maybe based on your personal experiences in
26:18the past or it could be somebody else's story that you read about you heard about okay yeah
26:27and some characters actors actresses okay like john mary
26:39steve rachel some characters
26:46okay and their lines their conversation sometimes a monologue the thought process
26:57and interaction between characters
27:01their feelings
27:04all right their opinions about
27:09what's going on in the world
27:12all right in the news or it could be about one person's opinion about another person
27:21um okay yeah brainstorming okay so very creative process
27:30screenplay yeah storyline okay yeah it's fun okay well
27:38um
27:52look i was in los angeles california in 2006 and 2009 okay uh so yeah i'm very well educated when
28:00it comes to filmmaking okay so also in medicine wisconsin university i took some classes too okay
28:06cheers yeah
28:12even in isaka new york yeah cornell university where i was
28:15after before i dropped out after two years phd program yeah we did some uh
28:23christmas holiday uh acting
28:27gig
28:30okay yeah i was a producer one of the producers there okay so
28:35yeah we present this acting for like 10 minutes okay to our professors and our graduate students
28:42okay colleagues okay yeah it was about wizard of oz a spin-off of that okay so
28:50yeah brainstorming okay yeah
28:53um
28:56yeah so there was like not solo production it was theatrical more collaboration yeah
29:05phd candidates right yeah computer science department okay so uh but yeah there are many
29:10ideas and um so we brainstormed about the screenplay uh they did not not choose my screenplay
29:20they chose somebody else's screenplay and that's fine okay so yeah welcome future leaders
29:28my proud yeah good evening yeah cheers happy monday
29:38yeah so
29:39so yeah therapy won't metamorphobia is a solo okay it was just me okay but some other productions
29:50yeah i work with other people okay and uh brainstorming and
29:58yeah multiple people involved like different characters
30:03actors actresses and uh
30:08yeah
30:10then you finalize a screenplay okay different characters and actors actresses they memorize
30:18their lines and now you're on camera how exciting we are filming acting
30:27acting
30:37good times
30:52yeah
30:57in medicine Wisconsin days yeah video production class yeah they did not adopt my screenplay
31:04they loved somebody else's but i was a director of that project okay so okay that's fine yeah
31:21yeah cheers yeah
31:27in school setting okay filmmaking like mr stevie monson uh he was like outside of school okay
31:35mr stevie monson he is business major okay he he didn't even study anything about
31:41filmmaking maybe he took some classes i don't care but uh yeah when it comes to filmmaking yeah
31:48mr Kenton Tarantino okay he didn't go to like college at all okay yeah but
31:57yeah he just learned about filmmaking by watching a lot of movies
32:04okay he was a clerk in a video store back in the days okay yeah maybe blockbuster or
32:13uh whatever okay yeah
32:20so no formal education necessary when it comes to arts including filmmaking okay so
32:31yeah you just go out there and start filming
32:34okay after you come up with very nice story compelling story okay they will touch people's
32:44heart it could be comedy drama romance horror action whatever okay yeah
33:00yeah
33:01yeah good times cheers

34:07okay
34:17you
34:47you
35:17you
35:47you
36:17you
36:47you
36:51okay welcome back
36:56yeah so we are talking about filmmaking okay very cool yeah so uh thank you for inspiring us
37:03yeah great future leaders yeah so nowadays you can make a movie with your cell phone camera
37:10because cell phone camera these days high technology is very high fidelity
37:17yeah but back in the days when i like that okay so uh i didn't even have a cell phone when i made
37:23this movie therapy for metamorphobia okay yeah it took like 25 grand well not 25 grand twenty five
37:31hundred two thousand and five hundred dollars okay yeah panasonic dvs i have to take out some loan
37:39to buy that camera okay it was tough yeah cheers
37:48okay
37:51what i bought it okay and uh yeah mini tv digital camera okay and uh
38:00and uh yeah but these days you don't have to buy some fancy cameras
38:05the cell phone camera will work okay yeah
38:11and
38:13the way i wrote the screenplay i went to cafe i have full-time computer pro job in
38:18los angeles california okay but yeah during the weekday nights
38:25and weekends pre-production yeah i will go to cafe i downloaded some screenplay
38:32formatting software okay for free okay yeah so like
38:39type some conversations
38:45yeah like between me and a rock me and a cactus right yeah
38:54something like that right what's a monologue
38:57saturday lucky right because i made this movie all by myself okay but
39:01but in some other productions yeah i work with other people okay so yeah actors actresses
39:13and uh yeah so it depends what your production be you could be all by yourself or it could be
39:21with some other people involved yeah they'll call that was a deal yeah so
39:28so yeah the your screenplay could be about future your imagination your ambition your fantasy
39:40okay or it could be based on past experiences or observations or other people okay
39:51or it could be your personal experience or it could be your imagination in the future
39:57yeah it could be about past or it could be about future okay like how it was in the past or how it
40:04you how you want it to be in the future okay yeah yeah screenplay is like writing a novel
40:12okay yeah or it could be a hypothetical like how it could be or it could be about past
40:22alternative universe of history how it could have been
40:29okay you're learning from the best welcome to human high school okay yeah
40:37now let me talk the hero is warm enough okay
40:52oh yeah so it could be science fiction a little bit right let's imagine improvised like
41:08yeah improvisation technique yeah i'm very well educated on that okay well turned
41:15yeah imagine uh on end insert uh want to
41:27be
41:32or hair stylist
41:36okay yeah giant ant as big as a human being okay on end
41:44insect right this ant want to be a hair stylist
41:55yeah i'm knowledgeable in entomology study of insects okay so
42:02uh this ant uh clip the hair of a person as a hair stylist barber okay uh with his uh his whole uh
42:14jaw your end jaw okay so uh and some humans may not feel comfortable with this idea
42:30of this gigantic ant as big as a human being cutting whole his hair with this ant jaw mouth
42:45okay
42:48something random there okay so okay
42:53what's the idea i'm just brainstorming here okay so random stuff
43:04okay yeah be creative original yeah like expanding expanding the boundary of imagination
43:14okay yeah kind of science but science fiction like sci-fi and a little bit of horror element
43:22there too okay scary stuff okay welcome friends yeah might be proud of you future leaders and uh
43:31and what is this gigantic ant hair stylist and barber insect is drunk
43:41with a vodka terrapot car right
43:51and imagine how many human customers would be willing to have haircut
44:04haircut by this gigantic drunken ant insect
44:18yeah even very creepy right yeah it's even a horror comedy a little bit okay
44:23some elemental side science fiction sci-fi okay
44:26so yeah okay yeah cheers yeah so it's giving you some ideas okay yeah imagination
44:38creativity originality okay yeah cheers welcome to humor school
44:51yeah yeah filmmaking right yeah
44:57yeah
45:13hey i'm a gigantic ant insect and i'm a barber yeah welcome to gigantic

46:22i'm more than 25 years young okay so okay
46:32yeah okay that's that's that okay so and my reaction child would be like
46:53oh relax honky lee okay i'm an ant okay cutting your hair with my jaws
47:02gigantic insect and yeah

47:25entomology you love insects yeah let me cut your hair with my gigantic jaws okay
47:34yeah i'm we were 25 single female okay so
47:44okay yeah that's an idea right sure yeah it doesn't have to be about ant okay yeah it could
47:53be about anything okay so i'm just giving you one example that's all improvisation
47:59improvisation yeah impromptu right yeah just not prescriptive okay yeah i did not think about this
48:10until today okay yeah improvisation it's like magical okay so yeah imagination on the spot

49:31honky lee and the barbarian yeah it's not screenplay
49:38sure
49:42it kind of partly inspired by france kafka right yeah uh the european novelist okay
