00:00When I think of the word access, I think about exposure, opportunity, and vision.
00:06The ability to see anything and everything that's possible.
00:11That's why I'm thrilled to be partnering with Blavity and MasterCard on Access Amplified
00:17to celebrate Black changemakers and community leaders.
00:21I am here to share my insights into the world of financial security, wealth building, and empowerment
00:27to show you how financial education played a central role in my success.
00:34So while I was on Wall Street, I worked in asset management.
00:37And so I started to do what I saw our wealthy clients do.
00:39They might have started with $100 million, I started with $100.
00:43Being surrounded by millionaires and billionaires, I wanted to take what Wall Street gave to me
00:48and give it to the people that Wall Street tend to overlook.
00:51So one of the key financial challenges that I feel like we face within society today is our identity.
00:56If you don't come from money, you're not around wealth, your desire to obtain it may exist
01:01but your belief that you deserve it is often non-existent.
01:04At Amplify, we focus on creating digestible content, resources, and tools
01:09to show people that you can start small and build big.
01:12It's about putting people in a position to, one, learn, but you can get to a space
01:16where you're unlearning who you have been and then choosing who you want to become.
01:21To the individual who's just starting their journey to build financial security, to create financial ease,
01:27you have to value being an owner more than you value being a consumer.
01:32The wealth gap is getting wider, but we got to give the tools and resources to the people who need it,
01:37who want it, but just don't know where to get it.
01:40So it's extremely important for companies like MasterCard to truly effectively lead with their heart
01:45to grow the minds and hearts of the people that they serve.
01:50Now that you've heard my journey, what's yours?
