00:00So the really important thing about the Brick by Brick campaign is that survivors of domestic
00:06abuse can have their own space. For example, if you were a woman who had a teenage son,
00:11for example, some of these refuge spaces would not be available to you because you're in a
00:15communal atmosphere. Or if you had three children, for example, or even a pet, a dog or whatever,
00:22they would not be available to you. But in this new place the Brick by Brick campaign is supporting,
00:29you can have your own space so there will be no restrictions on you to be in that safe space with
00:35your teenage son, your three kids or your dog or all of them. There's a space for you to be safe
00:42and anonymous. So most people who are fleeing an abusive partner, some of them have been planning
00:49it for a while, but some of them have to do it in a very spontaneous way. And so a place has
00:55to be available to them at the drop of a hat sometimes. Having that space available that is
01:00right there right now is a lifesaver and a life changer. A lot of the time in these campaigns
01:06you will donate your money and you'll see the place that's been built, you will see the effects
01:11it will have. For various reasons you can't do that in this campaign. You have to support it
01:16on good faith. And having worked with refuge for so many years, I can tell you from personal
01:22experiences, that that money will go to a really great cause. And refuge is a place where people
01:28turn to and can be safe and that they can trust. And that is essential. Having somewhere that you
01:34can trust and feel safe in our system today is unimaginably important.
