Furious Weasel Tattoo, a tattoo and piercing studio in Milton, Portsmouth, hosted a cancer charity event on Friday, September 13, 2024, raising funds for Wessex Cancer Support and Pilgrims Hospices by offering walk in flash tattoos and certain piercings for £13 or £31.

00:00I'm Nicole from Furious Weasel. We're doing a charity Cancer Flash Day today, so it's
00:04Friday the 13th, popular day in the tattoo industry anyways. We thought we'd coincide
00:09it with a charity, all proceeds are going towards Wessex Cancer Trust and Pilgrims Trust,
00:14which are both quite close with the artists that are working here. We're offering a
00:18multiple of different piercings and tattoos and obviously just got quite a big queue for
00:22it today, which is great turnout for their charities. Yeah, hoping it all goes well.
00:27So tell me why you're doing this today.
00:29So for Nic, he had his best friend who had lots of different cancers and passed away
00:34at quite a young age, and Pilgrims Trust helped her out quite a lot, so it's quite close to
00:38his heart. And then for myself, both my grandparents survived bowel cancer, and Wessex Cancer Trust,
00:44they offer a choir, which they do a charity for, and that helps them out a lot. There's
00:49loads of survivors, there's loads of supporters. They also go to their Race for Life, and again,
00:54it's just quite a close thing. I think everyone's been touched by cancer in some form of a way,
00:58so it's quite a nice thing to offer to our clients.
01:00So is there certain tattoos that people can get today?
01:02Yeah, so we've got a lot of cancer flash ribbons, which they can have in colours for
01:05the cancers that they've been affected by. We've got survivor scripts, so they can get
01:09that done in favour of a survivor from cancer. We've also got loads of other ones that just
01:13appeal to people, just so they'll come and get the tattoos to donate to charity too,
01:16that are just generic, like the 13th flash tattoos too.
01:19And I also understand that Nic's doing some piercing as well?
01:21He is, yeah. So he's doing lobes, helix and nose piercings, just offering a few basic
01:27ones. You can upgrade for some nice sparkly gems, and he's donating all of that to the
01:32charities as well.
01:33And do you know how much you've raised so far?
01:35We're not sure yet. We're going to do a big tally at the end, and we're going to do a
01:39live video just to show how much we earn, and then we're going to split it between the
01:43two charities in half, and all the proceeds go to them both.
