00:00The plenary debates of the Camera and the National Fund for the Future are now in full swing.

00:08House Speaker Martin Romualdez has news on those who are fighting for the 2025 General Appropriations Bill.

00:20House Speaker Martin Romualdez, who is in front of the Congress, is a strong advocate that everything will go through the right process and no one will be able to escape the responsibility.

00:31That is his plan in the middle of the start of the budget plenary deliberations for the 2025 National Budget Proposal.

00:42Unlike the usual schedule that starts at 3 p.m. to 10 a.m. when the plenary session of the Camera begins,

00:50the main agenda today is the arrangement of plenary deliberations for the 6.352 trillion pesos that will be allocated to the National Fund for the next year.

01:02In his speech, House Speaker Martin Romualdez encouraged his fellow lawmakers to work quickly and with confidence while ensuring that the National Fund for the Future is right and in place.

01:16Their target is to pass the budget proposal within this month before the session break.

01:21The House Speaker also assured that the 2025 General Appropriations Bill will be in line with the Agenda for Prosperity of the Marcos Administration.

01:29That's why he also has a plan against those who are fighting for it.

01:33He also reminded each agency of the government that the Congress is watching until the implementation of this fund.

01:40In the separate statement of the House Committee on Appropriations Chair Elizaldico, he also assured their dedication and efforts for the on-time passage of the budget proposal.

03:39Angelique, at this point, the debate continues and the budget sponsor of the Appropriations Committee, Senior Vice-Chair Stella Quimbo, is serving.

03:49So now, we are talking about the general principles and provisions of the proposed fund for the next year.

03:55It means, how does it look like? How big is the expected income or revenue of the government to be a part of the proposed national budget, Angelique?

04:06Yes, Mela. Now that the plenary debates are underway, and almost all of the Congressmen are involved, are there any heads of agencies involved?

04:21Angelique, that's right. Now that the deliberation on the proposed fund is underway, Congressmen are already taking part in the debate on the proposed fund.

04:32But Angelique, heads of agencies can still join to help their budget sponsors regarding the questions of the Congressmen regarding this.

04:41And Angelique, just a while ago, one of the heads of agencies that we saw was DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulia.

04:48One of the speakers in the plenary debates is the proposed fund of the DOJ.

04:53So we saw earlier that Secretary Remulia is here and we expect that there are other officials who will be coming.

05:00But Angelique, in the debate itself, Congressmen are already involved, but we are still expecting support from the agencies themselves, Angelique.
