00:00Hey everybody, it's Leo from Hot Freaks and I'm here with our van.

00:16It is our first day of tour.

00:17We are on tour to promote our album Hot Freaks Forever and we are here in Chicago to kick

00:24things off and yeah, let's check out the van.

00:29Alright so here I'm in the driver's seat as you know it's smelling very fresh in here

00:33because it's a rental and usually, this is our third tour and my dad is the driver and

00:40he's driven us for the last two and he's going to drive us again and it's great because none

00:44of us are that great with a trailer and that's good dad stuff and you know, so usually depending

00:52on who's going to be here, this is the co-pilot area, you know, we have, we're talking about

00:57how we don't play music too much in here because the way the speakers are situated,

01:01it's like you have to have it really loud to kind of jam out otherwise, you know, dad

01:06likes to drive in silence sometimes so we just kind of, we're pretty quiet during the

01:11drives.

01:13We've got this sticker here that says remind about tow mode, I think that's just like,

01:18you know, you got to put it in tow mode so you don't skid or something, it does something

01:22with the four wheel drive or something.

01:25Here we are in the middle row, today I sat here most of the day.

01:30I had a bad day yesterday, my phone is not working and I don't have any other clothes

01:36besides this.

01:37Well, I have clothes, they're all wet in a bag in back so I was just kind of stressed

01:40out on the ride today.

01:43Guitarist Tim sat here and he's reading about the journey to the Antarctic, worst journey

01:48in the world and he brought some cucumbers which I thought was interesting because they

01:54just taste like water.

01:56And then we have multiple charging stations, everybody's got electricity, it doesn't matter

02:03to me because my phone is dead.

02:05Neck pillow, I think I got this maybe last tour and I'm really proud of it.

02:11You know, it took me a long time to figure out how to wear it and what works about it

02:13because I'm like, I thought it would be like more supportive but I guess the idea is that

02:17you can kind of sit sitting up and it keeps you, I figured it out and it's really cool,

02:21I really recommend neck pillow.

02:23Didn't spend too much, this one was only like 10 bucks.

02:27We got this organization, what do we got, a couple sunglasses in here, UR Magic 40 mind

02:34blowing quote cards, my mom gave me this, where there is great love there are always

02:39miracles.

02:41That is probably true.

02:43So like I was saying, my dad is a driver, today Sarah was co-pilot which is basically

02:50basic navigation and inside tip, later in the tour her mom is going to be the driver,

02:55my dad is switching out.

02:58And then in here we have Celeste Spot, the keyboard player, they're all getting ready

03:02for the show right now.

03:05And then right here we have Cody and then on this new seat, this is new for us, my mom

03:12is sitting there and she's doing merchandise for us for the first part of tour, helping

03:17us out here.

03:19So it's a family affair and you know usually everybody kind of naps, we stop at the gas

03:26stations and eat lunch, everybody takes a nap and then we get a little chatty last hour

03:31or so of the drive and it's a very chill time most of the time, I can't think of any terrible

03:38experiences.

03:39So these things do go back which is pretty cool in my humble opinion because just you

03:47know, just an inch is enough to help you kind of knock out for like a 15 minute, 20 minute

03:53nap which is so crucial when you didn't get enough sleep, we all know this.

03:59We have another bit of gear here, we've got this keyboard which will probably never get

04:05played but you can't leave on a tour without the anxiety of like oh gosh, what if I need

04:11to figure out some part or what if I need to work on a new song or have a time to do

04:17that, never have any time for any of that stuff, it will never ever get used but I can

04:21never leave without it because of the anxiety factor and then this cart is apparently not

04:28getting used, we have brought two of these kind of foldable cart things which are pretty

04:34nifty, maybe we'll use them on another tour or another venue, this venue we're at today

04:40has no, we can park right up front but you have to just climb up the stairs so there's

04:43no need for a big cart.

04:47Here we have multiple different kinds of pillows, it looks like everybody, there's a couple

04:51neck pillows here but everybody has like a pillow with them, you know lumbar support

04:57is really important you know so you have a choice with something like this, that lower

05:01back you can blow out when you're driving, when you're trucking down the highway you

05:05can blow that out, you need lumbar support, that's key, I don't have any honestly, I need

05:09to get some, I'm looking at no lumbar support so I got neck support, my mom bought this

05:16at the first gas station we went to today and she said it provided great lumbar support

05:20so we're big on that, oh this is my mom's lunch, I'm supposed to give it to her, it's

05:26a Fritos and a banana and then she asked me to grab that, so we'll take you to the back

05:34and you know we have been renting a van and you know someday we've talked about the idea

05:41of maybe if this van thing takes off we'll invest, get our own van maybe but for now

05:49we're renting, here we have the luggage area, another cart that didn't get used, many suitcases

05:56all jumbled in a heap sort of like you know what you might see on a Southwest Airlines

06:00kind of chuck it thing and then we got sleeping bags, many of them, last time we toured we

06:07didn't bring enough because I thought we weren't going to use them and this time we're like

06:12gotta have sleeping bags, you got more flexibility in your options at the end of the night, here's

06:16a big bag of semi-wet soapy clothes that I, this is my whole actual wardrobe, it's actually

06:23still wet and that's why I'm just going to be wearing sweats tonight on stage, really

06:27embarrassing but will give me something to relate with the crowd about tonight, I'll

06:33bring that up a lot. So we put most of our gear in the U-Haul, the Tetris guy usually

06:42Cody the drummer, my dad is the driver, usually they're packing while I'm doing the meet and

06:50greet and then we got too much stuff to be honest, we got so much merch delivered to

06:58us that I have no idea where we're going to fit it all so it's going to be a very interesting

07:01probably chaotic first day of tour process tonight, we are glad to keep most of the stuff

07:08in the trailer but you got to have somebody who wants to drive with a trailer and you

07:12got to drive into the cities with a trailer and that's not always the most fun but sometimes

07:17it can be convenient in other ways. Hey, thank you for checking out the van, once again
