00:00We lost the trivia game, so here we are.
00:10Hello, come see our show, Drag Race Live.
00:14I get to go out in drag on this trip.
00:19And it's hot. Yay.
00:23Hi, Drag Race Live, come see our show.
00:26Drag Race Live at the Flamingo.
00:28We're in a fucking beautiful feather outfit and no one wants to take flyers from us.
00:35This is awful.
00:42This is not an easy job.
00:44Buy tickets to our show so we can keep the lights on at the Flamingo.
00:48Yes, please.
00:49Oh, take two.
00:50He got my flyer.
00:51He got my flyer.
00:52Well, good, lucky you.
00:53I have this much left.
00:55I know, mine are almost gone.
00:57We can't go home unless we get rid of all of this.
01:00Please take it.
01:03Sissy that walk.
01:04Hi.
01:05Sissy that walk.
01:06Hi.
01:07Come get us and see us while we're young and sexy.
01:10Come see RuPaul's Drag Race Live.
01:12It's the gayest show on the strip.
01:14I think it's your voice.
01:16Hi.
01:17Hi, come watch our show.
01:19Come watch our show.
01:21Hi, guys.
01:23Hey, Drag Race Live.
01:24We're the fly girls.
01:27Hello.
01:28Well, I've reached a new low point in my life.
01:34Can you pick these up?
01:35See you.
01:36Oh, hell no.
01:37I can't bend down.
01:44So now that I've had enough of being ignored on the strip,
01:46I would like to go support Nick and Cameron in their debut of the commercial
01:50that's going to play during the show.
01:51Yeah, we were out there handing out flyers for our show,
01:54so it's going to be really cool tonight.
01:56Yes.
01:57Come and see our show.
02:01On the bullhorn.
02:02Yes, yes.
02:04All right, y'all.
02:05This is a new commercial that we're playing in between the show,
02:07so Jenna, let's hit it.
02:19Yeah.
02:20Come on.
02:21Hot.
02:22Woo.
02:24Yeah.
02:38Wow.
02:40So cute.
02:42Oh, my God.
02:44It's so good.
02:45The commercial was so cute.
02:47So was Cameron.
02:48Cute, right?
02:49Oh, I love him.
02:54Hello.
02:55I am Julia Tunes.
02:59And Jonna is coming over to my house to watch me cook,
03:03because I'm cooking for the cast tonight.
03:07It's open.
03:09Hello, Kennedy.
03:11Hey, honey.
03:12Woo.
03:13I brought you something.
03:15What is it?
03:16Because you know I drink Pinot Grigio.
03:18Okay, I'll take it back.
03:24What I'm going to do is combine everything.
03:26I cooked the noodles.
03:27This is the meat.
03:29Isn't that spaghetti?
03:30It's a pasta noodle.
03:32Okay.
03:33It's a penne pasta.
03:34Penne?
03:35That's the name of it.
03:36Penne.
03:37The shape of it, yeah.
03:38Penne.
03:41Okay.
03:43I was going to tell you.
03:45Seasoned really well.
03:46See, when you have gesso, your refrigerator is supposed to look like that.
03:51Okay.
03:53And then when you say, would you like something to drink?
03:56Yeah, let me see.
03:57I have soda.
03:58Open it up.
03:59Wine.
04:00Open it up.
04:01Because you don't have nothing in your refrigerator.
04:03Do you have any chrysanthemum tea?
04:05What the fuck is that?
04:07Kennedy loves to tease me, but I really like her.
04:09Nothing really offends me, honestly, so I like it when we play together.
04:15I got to mix it all together and then put it in the pan and put it in the oven.
04:19Would you like me to assist?
04:20Nope.
04:22No, ma'am, bitch.
04:23One of my grandmothers was strict, like, you can't be in the kitchen.
04:27So I didn't really start learning from her until I got older and I started calling and asking questions.
04:32But when we was kids, she didn't allow people in the kitchen.
04:35My mom had us in the kitchen.
04:37My dad's mother had us in the kitchen, so I learned a lot.
04:41One of my grandmothers is coming.
04:43It's going to be her birthday.
04:44She's going to be 92.
04:45Has she seen you perform before?
04:47When I won Miss Gay USA, both my grandmothers, my mother, like, my gay parents, everybody came.
04:54What's a gay parents?
04:55You don't have drag parents?
04:57Oh, got it, okay.
04:58Drag, gay, chosen family.
04:59Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:00Yeah, I have mom, I have mothers and dads.
05:02That's cute.
05:04Do you support your grandmother?
05:05I really take care of my whole family.
05:08A long time ago, I understood my destiny, and part of that is taking care of my family, so that's what I'm doing.
05:15My other grandmother's in the hospital right now.
05:17Yeah.
05:18She had a stroke last year, the day after Thanksgiving.
05:22I can relate.
05:23I mean, two days ago, my dad was in the hospital for open heart surgery.
05:27Oh, Lord.
05:28So he has, like, you know how we have, like, arteries in our hearts?
05:31Mm-hmm.
05:32Four of the five was blocked.
05:34Oh, God.
05:35So I was like, damn, what have you been eating, Dad?
05:37In terms of, like, support, I also was like, oh, I gave my, you know, my family an allowance as well, and we're going to cover his operation fee and stuff.
05:44Mm-hmm.
05:45So I think it's nice that we get to do that back for them.
05:48Yeah.
05:49You know?
05:50And Drag Aloud gives us that opportunity, because…
05:52Who would have known?
05:53Like, because before the show, it was hard out here for a pimp, okay?
05:58After spending time with Kennedy, I feel that I respect her even more, and I love her even more.
06:04Kennedy.
06:05What did you actually think of me when you first saw me in the show?
06:09Tell me the truth.
06:10I appreciated that you were, like, nice.
06:14You know?
06:15Okay.
06:16And I had to check myself, too, because, like, I was wondering, like, what is going on?
06:23Like, she got all this rehearsal and all this stuff?
06:26Because I didn't have to do that.
06:28Everything that you did to get settled in, I didn't do it.
06:32So you just jumped into it.
06:33Yeah.
06:34Wow.
06:35I had to really do a lot of self-checking, like, bitch, stop that.
06:38Like, you know, she have to do what she have to do to make sure she gets what she need to get.
06:43So…
06:48Do you want to know what I think of you?
06:50Oh, Lord.
06:51I think when people first meet you, they might think you have a walla.
06:55But once you get to know you, I think you have a cuddly side.
06:58I know how much you loved my black fishnet.
07:02And one day, you just walked in, and you were like, here are some nude-colored fishnets for you.
07:07And I was like, oh, that's so cute and shady at the same time.
07:11I'm not going to talk about you and not have a solution.
07:14I think it's endearing.
07:18All right, I'm going to go prepare for the show.
07:20I'm going to get out of your hair.
07:21Okay.
07:22Thank you for this wine.
07:23I probably won't ever drink.
07:24It's really good.
07:25Bye-bye!
07:26Oh!
07:36It's time to get ready for the first show of the night.
07:40And oh my God, I am so late.
07:46Why are you running late anyway?
07:47You usually get here early.
07:49I literally pulled the food out the oven and came on.
07:52Really?
07:53Yes.
07:54I can't wait to taste this.
07:56My granny, she's the one who taught me how to fry chicken.
07:59You know, I use her technique on, you know, frying chicken and keeping it crispy and stuff.
08:06Because if you ain't got crispy fried chicken, then you ain't got no fried chicken.
08:10Oh, baby.
08:11What is you doing?
08:12Baby, I don't know what you doing.
08:13This is not shaking back in our house.
08:20Hey, ladies!
08:22I cook for y'all.
08:23I have food for us between the shows.
08:25Thank you!
08:26And if you want, like, something light, it's a piece of chicken.
08:29You can have a little piece of chicken.
08:30A light piece of fried chicken.
08:33But I need to test this right here to make sure.
08:36Can I just look at it?
08:38Yeah, you can look at it.
08:40Oh, that definitely need to be tested before you give it out to everybody.
08:44We haven't even started the first performance and they are already hovering, honey, like some vultures.
08:49Oh, this looks good.
08:50I got fried chicken for you to eat.
08:52Between shows.
08:54Between shows?
08:55He needs it.
08:56Yeah, it's between shows.
08:58Here's the thing.
08:59If y'all start eating now, we're not going to be able to film.
09:02They is ready to eat right now and it is not time.
09:05Get out, old swine!
09:09I had a lovely afternoon with Kennedy and we talked about our families and stuff.
09:14So it was really sweet to get to know her more as a person.
09:17We all do drag, but what drives us and I think family is a big part of what she does and so is mine.
09:24Do your family ever come see the show?
09:27Actually, everyone in my family has seen the show.
09:30Brothers, sisters.
09:32I think just my younger brother hasn't made it out yet.
09:35But mom, dad, step-mom, step-dad.
09:39Brothers, sisters.
09:41I think your mom was here when I was here.
09:44Yeah, she came for my birthday actually.
09:46I actually reunited with my mom.
09:50She came to the show.
09:51She surprised me.
09:53And for the past year now, we've had a better relationship.
09:57To see her in the audience and surprise me, it was a very big stepping stone, milestone for me.
10:02So it was a big deal.
10:04Yeah, it was crazy.
10:05It was shocking.
10:06I was like, is that my mom?
10:08And then I saw my step-dad and I was like, oh my God, that's my step-dad.
10:10That's my step-dad.
10:12And so I feel like my relationship has been so much stronger since then.
10:17My mom has only seen me one time in drag.
10:20Ever?
10:21She doesn't really like it.
10:26I think it's hard for her as the only son of the family to do drag.
10:30I think now she's more okay with it.
10:32But to each his own.
10:34I think my dad's more okay with it.
10:36I feel like I love drag so much and no one's going to tell me to stop.
10:39And as long as I'm not hurting anybody and I'm entertaining people and I know that I was born onto this earth to do this because it makes me happy,
10:47no one, not including my mom, is going to stop me from doing what I love.
10:51I love it, mom.
10:55My dad has seen me in drag once, I think, at this point.
11:00He's very supportive of the fact that I have a craft that I'm very good at and get to sustain my life off of.
11:06But it's just kind of like a different world for him.
11:09And then my mom was never well enough to come and see me while I was doing drag.
11:12So it didn't work out for that, but she had seen pictures and she was happy for me.
11:16She was my favorite person.
11:19My mom passed away from a long-term illness about a month before the lockdowns happened.
11:25She kind of put up a front where, like, nobody really knew how bad it was.
11:30I'm sorry, man.
11:31A lot of this comes from her.
11:36So it felt very nice to be able to just share a little bit of that.
11:41Yeah.
11:42Today, though, my aunt and uncle who live in Henderson are here in the audience.
11:47So that's going to be great.
11:48They've seen me in drag when I was out here for Piranha, I think, last year, doing a gig there.
11:53So they've seen me in drag before.
11:54I don't play favorites, but they are, like, definitely, like, top three aunt, uncle.
11:58Karen, you know you're included in that, too.
12:00And they rock.
12:02And I'm very excited that they're here.
12:04Because they saw me at, like, Piranha, which is a lovely, fun time.
12:07But it's a little bit less of a spectacle than this show is.
12:12Yeah.
12:13So I think they'll be like, oh, bitch, she's at the fucking Flamingo.
12:17She's, like, headlining a show with a bunch of other girls.
12:20Like, this is cool.
12:21My aunt and uncle have seen me do drag before, but they've never seen me do one of my burlesque acts.
12:27I don't really know what the vibe's going to be, but hopefully they like it.
12:31Well, not too much.
12:32That'd be kind of weird.
12:33They had fun, though.
12:35Well, then, especially because they live here, they know the history of Vegas.
12:38And Flamingo's the longest-running casino here on the Strip.
12:42Really?
12:43Mm-hmm.
12:44It's the oldest one on the Strip that's still here.
12:47So when they close down, it's going to be our fault.
12:48They're going to be like, we should have never had the drag queens in here.
12:51It was the queens.
12:52Absolutely.
12:53These queens are wild.
12:54And not profitable.
12:55We're going to be really excited.
12:56Are we starting right at 7, by the way?
12:58We got 10 minutes.
12:59I look incredible.
13:01Every single time, I'm like, how do I do it?
13:10Flamingo Las Vegas is proud to present RuPaul's Drag Race Live!
13:19My aunt and my uncle are here in the audience tonight.
13:23They've always been super supportive and fun.
13:48I'm the image of your own imagination.
13:57It feels great to have them in the audience.
14:03It's time to eat!
14:07Kennedy cooks every week for the cast.
14:09That's why we can't fit in our costumes.
14:13Oh my God, look what Derek's doing.
14:16Derek!
14:17Look at what Derek is doing.
14:18Derek, I'm not even mad at you.
14:20You better do it, bitch!
14:21I've been here before.
14:22I am so proud of you.
14:24Oh yeah, I got a whole plate.
14:25This is cute.
14:26Oh, this is good.
14:27Bon appetit.
14:28I love y'all.
14:29Bon appetit.
14:30Kennedy really is house mom.
14:32Baby, the way she be cooking.
14:33Show mom.
14:34I don't know no other way.
14:36I think food and dinner especially is very important.
14:41It helps us be our very best too.
14:43A lot of the people that I work with,
14:45they're not used to home cooked meals and things like that.
14:47We live a fast life.
14:49What did your family think of the show?
14:51They loved it.
14:52They absolutely loved it.
14:53They just were blown away.
14:54And they're also very, very happy that they didn't have to stay up late
14:56because they're old.
14:58My grandmother's coming at the end of the month.
15:00Yeah?
15:01It's going to be her birthday.
15:02How old is she going to be?
15:0392.
15:04You better fucking work.
15:05That's amazing.
15:06She's never been to Vegas.
15:08And she's just ready to play the slot machines.
15:10That's going to be fun.
15:11You gotta see the show first, okay?
15:14All right.
15:15We got 15 minutes, everyone.
15:17Kennedy, this was so good.
15:19Thank you, Kennedy.
15:20Thank you for cooking for us.
15:22It's a little expression of my heart.
15:23Your heart tastes great.
15:24You got a big heart.
15:25And yeah, it tastes really good.
15:28Now that the meal is over and I'm full,
15:30it's time to get ready for the second show.
15:42It's exhausting doing two shows in a night.
15:44You would think it'd be easy.
15:46You're already in drag.
15:47You could do it.
15:49But to give a full show energy-wise twice is demanding.
15:51It's a lot.
15:53And so I'm always looking forward
15:55to getting untucked upstairs.
15:57What's going on here?
15:59Under construction?
16:01I don't know.
16:03I don't know.
16:05I don't know.
16:07I don't know.
16:09I don't know.
16:11I don't know.
16:16All right, on the count of three.
16:18One, two, three.
16:22Oh!
16:24Yes!
16:26All right.
16:28I think it's truly an honor to be included on that wall.
16:30It is truly incredible.
16:32It really is.
16:34That's fabulous!
16:36This is so cute!
16:38Oh my God!
16:39I've been here since the beginning of the show.
16:41I remember the opening night.
16:43Evie Oddly.
16:45I made it.
16:47And Vanjie.
16:50The statue is lovely Naomi.
16:56Wow!
16:58Oh, look at Silky!
17:00You look good, girl!
17:02Me and Derek, you do look good.
17:04That's my old showgirl outfit.
17:06I love yours, Kennedy.
17:09That looks great.
17:11It's everybody that's ever done the show,
17:13whether for years, weeks, days.
17:15And I feel really special being included in that.
17:18I'm the 29th queen on this wall.
17:20I belong there.
17:22I deserve this.
17:24Derek, you've been here since the very beginning.
17:27Is there anyone that you want to see come back?
17:29For me, I want Roxy.
17:31Me too!
17:33Roxy was one of the most fun people I've ever worked with.
17:35That's the diva, that's the doll.
17:37I would say I had a great time at Aquaria.
17:39We didn't know what to expect when she got here,
17:41and it was like the opposite of what we thought we were getting.
17:44And she was the coolest.
17:46She actually came in and read us right away too, which I love.
17:48And it was amazing.
17:50I fell in love with Georges too.
17:52Yeah, Georges is a lot of fun.
17:54I knew Jada long before that, so we just clicked.
17:56Plastique was a doll to work with too.
17:58Plastique was so fun.
18:00Amazing to work with.
18:02Now there's a few on the wall you're like,
18:03one of these things is not like the other.
18:06It's kind of like, how'd she get here?
18:09But it is what it is.
18:12I would want Vanjie to come back,
18:14simply because we were cut up back here for sure.
18:17This is a prestige group of girls that get to be on this wall.
18:21I feel really lucky.
18:23So you know, there's been like 500 queens out of all the franchises,
18:27and I feel like we are one of the 29
18:29who are very blessed and lucky to be part of this amazing experience.
18:33So let's cheers to that!
18:35Cheers!
18:43So I'm number 29.
18:45Who do you want to be number 30?
18:47This would have been a great opportunity for Chi-Chi.
18:51Absolutely.
18:53Like she would have showed up and showed out.
18:57The crowd would have eaten her up.
18:59Showed her.
19:01She had very good work ethic,
19:04and she was one hell of a performer.
19:10And we would have had a good time.
19:12For sure.
19:13She was fun to tour with.
19:14Yeah.
19:15Yeah, I miss her so much.
19:16I want to see Alyssa.
19:18Oh, fuck yeah.
19:20Alright!
19:23Baby, the show starts at 9.30, baby.
19:26Now Alyssa ain't going to get here until about 9.45.
19:27Y'all get ready.
19:29Oh, baby.
19:30Baby.
19:31But I'm not ready yet.
19:32I have to get ready, baby.
19:33I'm not ready yet.
19:34I mean, I would love Alyssa to host.
19:35It would be a comedy hour.
19:37Girl, you had rolls all over the place in the back.
19:38It was disgusting.
19:42Back rolls?
19:46Girl!
19:49This show is too structured for my good sister.
19:54I think Camden would be great at this, too.
19:55Oh, yeah.
19:57Lady Camden would rock at this.
20:04Kennedy, thank you again for cooking for everybody today.
20:07That was so sweet.
20:08Yes, it was awesome.
20:10If we don't take care of our bodies, we can't do no two shows.
20:13Kennedy, you do more tricks in this show than anyone that's been in it.
20:17Kennedy does more tricks after the show.
20:19The jump split is probably the best thing I've ever seen.
20:23It's scary to watch.
20:26Like, people legitimately cannot do what you do.
20:29Like, it's not an option on the table for, like, anyone.
20:32Teenagers.
20:33Like, you are incredible.
20:35I love what I do, and it's all a part of me keeping the legacy of drag dance alive.
20:41When I made a choice to make this my career,
20:44that was a part of drag culture that I wanted to hold on to and perfect and make it my own
20:50so I could be part of the blueprint that would carry on after me.
20:55My grandmother, Coco, who's, like, an absolute sickening, sickening, sickening entertainer
21:01in the pageant community, but she also danced the house down.
21:04Your mom, Tiffany Arriagas, who is a living legend.
21:08You know, she's used to, you know, being in the spotlight.
21:11Who is a living legend.
21:12You know, she's used to twirl to Donna Simons.
21:16Oh my God.
21:17Like, a 17-minute megamix and she would dance the house down.
21:21She would have, like, six costume changes and never leave the stage.
21:23She's, like, almost 70 now.
21:24She's still living.
21:25Coco's mom, Mocha Montrese, she would dance the house.
21:30Yeah.
21:31For me, that's what keeps me together.
21:33That's what keeps me grounded, and that was my reasoning for doing drag.
21:36It's to keep the drag legacy that I learned many years ago alive.
21:42A lot of people not doing what I do, and a lot of people haven't chosen that specific part of our drag history
21:50to make it their own and to press forward.
21:54It's a legacy, so it holds a rich history in drag.
21:59It's a part of our drag history that is very faint in a sense because everybody can't do it.
22:06Latrice, you want to try the jump split?
22:08She used to do it, but she just stopped.
22:12You get older.
22:13She used to do it.
22:15Latrice, you used to do that?
22:16Baby, you better ask somebody.
22:18I used to carry.
22:19I did not know that.
22:20She used to do it because when I had moved to Orlando, I felt the earthquakes in Miami when she would do it.
22:25Stop it!
22:26I felt that stuff.
22:27Oh, wow.
22:28Back when I started, I was 16 years old.
22:31We learned how to do makeup by going and watching the girls get ready at the club.
22:35It was no internet or nothing like that.
22:38No, no such thing.
22:39We all can relate to that.
22:41There was no tutorial.
22:42You have to go and then go home and try.
22:47They said, okay, you have somebody that's good, paint your face, take a picture, and put it on your mirror,
22:55and then you try to emulate what you see on your face.
22:59It was trial and error, bitch.
23:01Mostly error.
23:02Mostly error, bitch.
23:04Mostly error.
23:05Coco just started doing her makeup.
23:07She just started doing her makeup.
23:09Doing my makeup right.
23:11Oh, doing it right.
23:12Yeah.
23:13Yeah, that's true.
23:14Yeah.
23:15Miss Coco, you're going to have to do a little bit more pink in the eye.
23:17You concerned about what's going on over here when you need to be worried about what's going on over there with that same makeup you've been running on the runway every single time.
23:22My whole career, I was based on talent.
23:24It had nothing to do with what I look like up here.
23:26Every time I saw Coco, somebody else was doing it.
23:28Oh, really?
23:29Yeah.
23:30Yeah, I pulled a fangina.
23:32Somebody else was doing my face.
23:33Yeah.
23:34Fuck you, bitch.
23:35Wow.
23:36Would you like me to clear that up?
23:37I was on the show, Drag Race, UK versus Europe.
23:39I painted my own face.
23:40We know.
23:41And the first, oh, bitch.
23:43I painted my own face and it was fine.
23:46Yeah, we saw it.
23:47It was fine.
23:48I just prefer sitting there.
23:50Okay.
23:51I think it's a diva move and I like it.
23:53I like it.
23:54J-Lo doesn't paint her own face.
23:55No.
23:56Mariah doesn't paint her own face.
23:57Yeah, don't paint her own face.
23:58Bitch, I know how to do my fucking own makeup.
24:02Hookers.
24:03We're glad you're here, too, because you being from another country, you're teaching us things every day.
24:08You learn different cultures that way and I love it.
24:10Yeah, and the way you be talking in language, you kind of turn me on, too.
24:13I've been wanting to learn it, too.
24:14I'd be like, uh, uh.
24:15Oh.
24:16Okay.
24:17Yeah.
24:18Uh, uh.
24:19It's a language.
24:20Yeah.
24:21Oh, my God.
24:22Uh, uh.
24:23Ty, you feel like very assertive.
24:25It's just the language, but it's a beautiful language.
24:31Latrice, how has hosting been?
24:33Oh, my God.
24:34I love it.
24:35It feels like the Cinderella slipper, like the perfect fit.
24:37Like, it's.
24:38Baby, that's a big slipper.
24:40Okay, so this is what I want then.
24:44Okay.
24:45Since y'all got so many motherfucking jokes and shit.
24:47So, my last night Monday, hosting, right?
24:50So.
24:51Monday?
24:52That's it.
24:53I know.
24:54For my going away, I want to do a good old fashioned reading challenge.
24:59That I will not be a part of.
25:00I will be judging.
25:01Well, that's unfair.
25:02No, yeah.
25:03No, it's fair because it wouldn't be fair to you if I was in it.
25:05Trust and believe that.
25:06I don't want to read to girls.
25:09It's too easy.
25:10All right.
25:13So, y'all know the assignment.
25:14I'm going to put a little prize to it.
25:16So, do your homework.
25:17I'm ready to go.
25:18It's time.
