Surah Al-Kahf (The Cave) is the 18th chapter (surah) of the Quran with 110 verses and 12 rukus.. It was revealed in Mecca. The surah Kahaf mentions the wondrous story of a group of youthful believers who retreated from their unbelieving people to the hills and the seclusion of The Cave wherein God caused them to sleep for three hundred and nine lunar years as a sign to their people that God shall, indeed, raise the dead—and that also mentions the narratives of other marvels beyond ordinary human conception. Its name is derived from the story of the “Companions of the Cave” (aṣḥāb al-kahf) told at its beginning. This surah also deals with two other stories: Moses’ meeting with an unidentified figure , and the story of Dhuʾl-Qarnayn . A parable is put forward for the people of Mecca: the parable of the luscious gardens belonging to an arrogant and ungrateful man, which God reduces to dust. The surah opens and closes with references to the Quran itself. Whoever reads Surah Kahf on Friday, ALLAH will shower a light (NOOR) on a face that will last till the next two Fridays. Those who recite this Surah on every Friday, ALLAH will forgive all of his/her sins. Whoever reads Surah Kahf on Friday ALLAH will bless his house and protect him/her from poverty.

00:00ALL PRAISE IS DUE TO ALLAH, who has sent down the Book to His servant, and has made no crookedness thereof,
00:10upright, that He may warn of a severe punishment from Himself,
00:16and that He may give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds, that they shall have a good reward,
00:27abiding therein forever,
00:30and that He may warn those who say,
00:34Allah has taken a son.
00:37They have no knowledge of it, nor do their fathers.
00:44A word has grown large that comes forth from their mouths.
00:49They say nothing but a lie.
00:53So perhaps thou wilt cause thyself to weep over their footsteps, if they do not believe in this statement, alas!
01:05Verily, We have made that which is on the earth an adornment for them, that We may test them as to which of them is best in deed.
01:17Verily, We have made that which is on the earth an adornment for them, that We may test them as to which of them is best in deed.
01:25Or didst thou think that the dwellers of the cave and the rock were among Our wonders?
01:35When the young men took refuge in the cave, they said,
01:41Our Lord, grant us mercy from Thyself, and make easy for us the right course of our affair.
01:52So We struck their ears in the cave for a number of years.
01:59Then We raised them up again, that We might know which of the two parties was best in deed, and how long they remained therein.
02:11We tell thee their story in truth.
02:16Verily, they were young men who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance.
02:24And We straitened their hearts when they stood up and said,
02:29Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. We shall not call upon any deity other than Him.
02:42We said, then, in a loud voice,
02:47These are a people who have taken for themselves gods other than Him.
02:56Why do they not come to them with a clear authority?
03:03Who, then, is more unjust than he who invents a lie against Allah?
03:09And when you have taken refuge in them, and they worship none but Allah,
03:16then go to the cave. Your Lord will spread forth for you His mercy,
03:24and will make easy for you the right course of your affair.
03:33And thou wilt see the sun, when it rises,
03:36wandering about their cave to the right.
03:41And when it sets, it will cast them to the left,
03:46and they will be in a gap therefrom.
03:49These are among the signs of Allah.
03:53Whomsoever Allah guides, he is the rightly guided.
03:57And whosoever He sends astray, thou wilt not find for him a guardian who will guide him.
04:04And thou willest think of them as awake, while they are asleep.
04:09And We will turn them to the right and to the left.
04:16And their dog will be upright, its arms in the middle.
04:22If thou lookest upon them, thou wouldst turn away from them in flight,
04:31and thou wouldst be filled with terror from them.
04:35And thus did We raise them up, that they might ask one another.
04:42A speaker among them said, How long have you stayed?
04:47They said, We stayed a day or a part of a day.
04:52They said, Your Lord knows best how long you have stayed.
04:57So send one of you with this leaf of yours to the city,
05:04and let him see which of it is purer in food.
05:13Then let him bring you some provision from it, and let him be gentle, and let him not make you feel anything.
05:25Verily, if they come out against you, they will stone you, or make you return to their religion, and you will never prosper in that case.
05:41And thus did We raise them up, that they might know that the promise of Allah is true, and that the Hour is in it no doubt.
05:56When they disputed among themselves over their affair, they said, Build upon them a building, their Lord is most knowing of them.
06:08Those who prevailed over their affair said, We will surely take upon them a masjid.
06:17They will say, Three, the fourth of them is their dog,
06:23and they will say, Five, the sixth of them is their dog, stoning with thunder.
06:31And they will say, Seven, the eighth of them is their dog.
06:36Say, My Lord is most knowing of their number, but He knows them but a little.
06:49So do not be angry with them, except in plain sight,
06:56and do not ask for any of them from among themselves.
07:02And do not say of anything, I will do that tomorrow,
07:10except that Allah wills.
07:16And remember your Lord when you forget,
07:20and say, Perhaps my Lord will guide me to a more just way than this.
07:28And they stayed in their cave three hundred years, and increased by nine.
07:36Say, Allah is most knowing of what they stayed.
07:40To Him is the unseen of the heavens and the earth.
07:44See with it and hear.
07:47They have no protector other than Him, and He does not associate anyone with Him in His judgment.
07:57And recite what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord.
08:02There is no alterer for His words, and you will not find besides Him a refuge.
08:11And be patient with yourself with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and in the evening,
08:19that they may desire His Countenance.
08:21And do not turn your eye away from them.
08:24You desire the adornment of the life of this world.
08:29And do not obey him whose heart We have kept heedless of Our Remembrance,
08:34and who has followed his desire, and whose affair has been in vain.
08:42And say, The truth is from your Lord.
08:45So whoever wills, let him believe, and whoever wills, let him disbelieve.
08:53Indeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a Fire,
09:06and surrounded therein are its chambers.
09:14And if they seek shelter therein, they will be drowned in water like molten copper, burning their faces.
09:23Evil is the drink, and evil is the reward.
09:29Verily, those who believe and do righteous deeds, We do not waste the reward of one who does good works.
09:40For them there are Gardens of Eternity, beneath which rivers flow.
09:49They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold, and they will wear garments of green silk and brocade,
10:06reclining therein on couches.
10:11Excellent is the reward, and good is that which is agreed upon.
10:22And set forth for them the parable of two men. We made for one of them two Gardens of grapevines,
10:36and We surrounded them with date-palms, and We placed between them an array.
10:43Both the Gardens provided for their food, and you did not wrong them in the least.
10:51And We caused a river to flow through them.
10:56And there was for them a fruit, and he said to his companion, while he was speaking to him,
11:04I am more ungrateful than you in wealth, and more mighty in the heart.
11:09And he entered his Garden, and he was unjust to himself. He said,
11:16He said, I do not think that this will ever perish, and I do not think that the Hour will ever come.
11:30And if I should return to my Lord, I would certainly find better than this a return.
11:39He said to his companion, while he was speaking to him,
11:44Do you disbelieve in the One who created you from dust, then from a sperm, then made you into a man?
11:55But He is Allah, my Lord, and I associate no one with my Lord.
12:04And why did you not, when you entered your Garden, say, Allah wills, there is no power except with Allah.
12:17If you see that I am less than you in wealth and children,
12:25then perhaps my Lord will give me something better than your Garden,
12:33and He will send upon it a rainstorm from the sky, and it will become a high mountain,
12:43or its water will become deep, and you will not be able to ask for it.
12:58And he was surrounded by his fruit, and he began to turn his hands over what he had spent in it, and it was empty on its roofs.
13:16And he said, Oh, I wish I did not associate anyone with my Lord.
13:37And he had no party to help him other than Allah, and he was not able to help.
13:48There is the protection of Allah, the truth. He is the best reward, and the best reward.
14:02And set forth for them the example of the life of this world, as if We had sent it down from the sky,
14:16and the plant of the earth mixed with it, and it became a grass that the winds blow.
14:28And Allah is Powerful over all things.
14:34Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world,
14:40and the good deeds that remain are better in the sight of your Lord as a reward, and better as a hope.
14:49And the Day We will move the mountains, and you will see the earth exposed,
14:58and We will gather them together, and We will not leave anyone of them, and they will be presented before your Lord in rows.
15:08You have come to Us as We created you the first time.
15:14Rather, you have claimed that We will not make for you an appointment.
15:21And the Book has been placed,
15:29so you see the criminals afraid of what is in it, and they say,
15:37O woe to us!
15:39And they say, O woe to us!
15:43And they say, O woe to us!
15:47What is with this Book?
15:51It does not leave a small or a large thing except that it has counted it,
16:01and they find that which they did was present.
16:05And your Lord does not wrong anyone.
16:13And the Book has been placed,
16:17so you see the criminals afraid of what is in it,
16:23and they say, O woe to us!
16:27And they say, O woe to us!
16:31What is with this Book?
16:35It does not leave a small or a large thing except that it has counted it,
16:53and they find that which they did was present.
16:57And your Lord does not wrong anyone.
17:01And when We said to the angels,
17:05Submit to Adam.
17:07But they submitted except Iblis.
17:13He was of the jinn,
17:15so he disobeyed the command of his Lord.
17:19Do you take him and his progeny as allies instead of Me,
17:27while they are your enemies?
17:29Evil is the reward for the wrongdoers.
17:37I did not make them witness the creation of the heavens and the earth
17:43nor the creation of their souls.
17:46And I did not take the misguided as my helpers.
17:52And on the Day when He will say,
17:54Call the partners of Mine whom you claimed,
17:59then call them, but they will not respond to them.
18:05And We will place a barrier between them.
18:10And the criminals will see the Fire,
18:18and they will think that they will fall into it,
18:26and they will not find a way out of it.
18:34And indeed We have expounded in this Qur'an
18:38for the people every kind of similitude.
18:43And man is most of all in dispute.
18:49And what prevented the people from believing
18:54when guidance came to them
18:57and they asked forgiveness of their Lord,
19:03was that the way of the ancients should come to them,
19:08or that the punishment should come to them in advance.
19:12And We do not send messengers
19:15except as bearers of good tidings and warners.
19:19And those who disbelieve dispute falsehood,
19:23that they may deny the truth with it.
19:27And they took My signs,
19:31and they were not warned in mockery.
19:37And who is more unjust than he who is reminded of the signs of his Lord,
19:43but turns away from them and forgets what his hands have sent forth?
19:48Indeed, We have placed a barrier over their hearts,
19:54that they may not understand it, and in their ears is deafness.
20:00And if you call them to guidance,
20:04then they will never be guided.
20:08And your Lord is the Forgiving, the Possessor of Mercy.
20:12If He were to take them for what they have earned,
20:16He would have hastened for them the punishment.
20:20Nay, for them is a promise,
20:26and they will find no refuge other than it.
20:30And those cities We destroyed when they were wrongdoers,
20:36and We made for their destruction an appointed time.
20:40And when Moses said to his servant,
20:44I will not leave until I reach the junction of the two seas,
20:50or spend a period.
20:53So when they reached the junction between them,
20:57they forgot their fish,
21:02so he took his way in the sea, running away.
21:06And when they had passed,
21:10he said to his servant, Give us our lunch.
21:15We have certainly found from our journey this meal.
21:22He said, Did you see when we turned to the rock,
21:27and I forgot the fish.
21:31And I did not forget it, except that Satan made me remember it.
21:37And he took his way in the sea, wondering.
21:41He said, That is what we wanted.
21:46So they went back to their footprints, telling stories.
21:52And they found a servant of Our servants.
21:56We gave him mercy from Us,
22:01and We taught him knowledge from Ourself.
22:06Moses said to him, Shall I follow you,
22:10or will you teach me from what you have been taught?
22:16He said, You will not be able to be patient with me.
22:22And how can you be patient with what you have no knowledge of?
22:28He said, You will find me, if Allah wills, patient.
22:35And I will not disobey you.
22:39He said, So if you follow me, do not ask me for anything,
22:47until I give you a reminder of it.
22:52So they set off,
22:56until, when they boarded the ship, he broke it.
23:02He said, Did you break it to drown its people?
23:06He said, You have come with an order.
23:10He said, Did I not say that you will not be able to be patient with me?
23:17He said, Do not take me for what I have forgotten,
23:22and do not prevent me from my task.
23:26So they set off,
23:30until, when they met a boy, he killed him.
23:35He said, Did you kill a pure soul without a soul?
23:41You have come with a terrible thing.
23:45He said, Did I not say that you will not be able to be patient with me?
23:53He said, If I ask you for anything after this,
24:00do not accompany me.
24:06You have reached an excuse from me.
24:10So they set off,
24:14until, when he came to the people of a town,
24:20he asked for food from its people,
24:24so they refused to host them.
24:29So he found in it a wall that he wanted to build,
24:35so he built it.
24:37He said, If you wanted, you would have taken a reward for it.
24:43He said, This is the separation between me and you.
24:49I will inform you of the interpretation of what you could not be patient with.
24:59He said, This is the separation between me and you.
25:04I will inform you of the interpretation of what you could not be patient with.
25:11As for the ship, it belonged to the poor who worked in the sea.
25:18So I wanted to repair it.
25:21And there was a king behind them who took every ship by force.
25:29And as for the boy, his parents were believers,
25:35so we feared that he would make them transgress and disbelieve.
25:44So we wanted to give them their Lord,
25:50better than him in purity,
25:56and closer in mercy.
25:59And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphans in the city,
26:06and under it was a treasure for them.
26:11And their father was righteous.
26:15And their father was righteous.
26:24So your Lord wanted to reach them both,
26:29and take out their treasure as a mercy from your Lord.
26:39And I did not do it on my own accord.
26:43That is the interpretation of what you could not be patient with.
26:49And they ask you about Dhul-Qarnayn.
26:53Say, I will recite to you from him a reminder.
26:58Indeed, We established him in the land,
27:02and We gave him a means of everything.
27:08And he followed a path,
27:10until when he reached the setting of the sun,
27:14he found it setting in a boiling spring,
27:20and he found with it a people.
27:24We said, O Dhul-Qarnayn, either you will be punished,
27:30or you will take in them a good thing.
27:35He said, as for the wrongdoer,
27:40we will punish him, then he will be returned to his Lord,
27:45and He will punish him with a terrible punishment.
27:50And as for the one who believes and does good,
28:00We will give him a good reward,
28:05and We will say to him,
28:07From Our command is easy.
28:09Then he followed a path,
28:13until when he reached the setting of the sun,
28:17he found it rising on a people,
28:20whom We did not make a cover for them.
28:25Then he followed a path,
28:29until when he reached the setting of the sun,
28:33he found with it a people.
28:37He found with it a people,
28:41whom they could hardly understand.
28:45Then he followed a path,
28:49until when he reached the setting of the sun,
28:53they said, O Dhul-Qarnayn,
28:57O Dhul-Qarnayn,
29:01Gog and Magog are corrupting the earth,
29:06so shall we make for you a barrier
29:10between us and them?
29:15He said, My Lord has given me good power in it.
29:22So help me with strength,
29:25I will make between you and them a barrier.
29:30Give me the pieces of iron.
29:34Until when it is balanced between the two sides,
29:39he said, Blow.
29:42Until when he makes it a fire,
29:47he said, Give me.
29:51So blow on it a fire.
29:54But they could not make it appear,
29:59nor could they make a cover for it.
30:03He said, This is a mercy from my Lord.
30:08So when the promise of my Lord came,
30:13he made it a barrier,
30:17and the promise of my Lord was true.
30:22He said, This is a mercy from my Lord.
30:27So when the promise of my Lord came,
30:32he made it a barrier,
30:35and the promise of my Lord was true.
30:39And We left some of them that Day,
30:44and some of them that Day.
30:47And the trumpet was blown,
30:50and the trumpet was blown,
30:53and We gathered them together.
30:56And We presented Hell, that Day,
31:01to the disbelievers as a display.
31:05And We presented Hell, that Day,
31:09to the disbelievers as a display.
31:13And their eyes were covered
31:18from My remembrance,
31:21and they could not hear.
31:26Did those who disbelieved think
31:30that they would take My servants
31:34as protectors besides Me?
31:39Indeed, We have prepared Hell
31:45Indeed, We have prepared Hell
31:52for the disbelievers as a descent.
31:59Say, Shall We inform you of the losers in deeds?
32:07Say, Shall We inform you of the losers in deeds?
32:14Those whose effort has gone astray
32:17in the life of this world,
32:20while they think
32:28that they are doing a good deed.
32:34Say, Shall We inform you of the losers in deeds?
32:41Say, Shall We inform you of the losers in deeds?
32:46Those whose effort has gone astray
32:49in the life of this world,
32:52while they think
32:59that they are doing a good deed.
33:04Those who disbelieved
33:08in the signs of their Lord and in meeting Him.
33:14Their deeds have come to naught.
33:25Those who disbelieved
33:29in the signs of their Lord and in meeting Him.
33:36Their deeds have come to naught.
33:39We shall not give them a weight on the Day of Resurrection.
34:07That is their recompense, Hell,
34:14because they disbelieved
34:17and took My signs and My messengers as a mockery.
34:23Those who believe and do good deeds,
34:30Paradise will be their abode
34:49They will abide therein
34:57They will not desire any change therefrom.
35:06Those who believe and do good deeds,
35:12Paradise will be their abode.
35:19They will abide therein.
35:22They will not desire any change therefrom.
35:26Say, If the sea were a sponge for the words of my Lord,
35:32the sea would surely overflow before the words of my Lord would overflow.
35:50And if We brought with it the like of it as a support,
35:55Say, I am only a human being like you.
36:00It is revealed to me that your God is one God.
36:13Whoever hopes to meet his Lord,
36:26let him do righteous deeds
36:40and not associate anything with the worship of his Lord.
