00:00Craving authentic Malay flavors? Pay a visit to Warung Pagi Pagi in Bukit Persegetuan, Kuala Lumpur.

00:07Since opening in March, this family-run eatery has become a neighborhood gem,

00:12with locals coming to unwind and enjoy everything from simple nasi lemak

00:18to indulgent siakap asam pedas nyonya. The heart and soul behind this venture is 42-year-old

00:25Sabrina Suhaimi who hails from Johor. The space they operate from today was once a

00:31souvenir shop for Galleria Sri Pradhana. After the museum closed for renovations,

00:37Sabrina and her family saw an opportunity to transform the vacant spot into something

00:43they missed from their hometown, a humble warung. Warung Pagi Pagi took off so quickly that it even

00:51caught the attention of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim who paid a surprise visit in May.

00:57We couldn't believe that our Yang di-Pertuan Agong was actually coming to our place. We

01:03received the call from early in the morning from Istana and they called my dad and then they were

01:08like, oh Agong is coming to the warung and then we're all like, oh no way, like just in general,

01:15like no way right? Sabrina's 17-year-old daughter Kistina recounted that to their astonishment the

01:22Agong arrived in his Proton Satria and stayed for about two hours, savoring several dishes and

01:30even covering the bill for all the other customers that day. It was very special to us because we

01:36were only operating for about two, three months and for Agong to come to your place when you've

01:42only been operating for that short a while is quite crazy. Notably, the Agong praised their Soto Ayam

01:49and FMT Lifestyle agrees. It's a warm and hearty bowl of comforting flavors. Warung Pagi-Pagi offers

01:57distinct morning, lunch and evening menus that attract different crowds. The standout on their

02:03morning menu is without a doubt the Serawa Durian.

02:19Another favorite is their best seller, the Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah. The chicken is crispy on the outside and

02:32juicy on the inside, paired with sambal that strikes the perfect balance between sweet and spicy.

02:38They also offer unique and rare finds in the city such as Lempeng, essentially a Malay crepe. Dip it

02:46into the sambal bilis which packs a spicy punch and you just won't stop eating. From bone marrow

02:53mee bandung to asam pedas and daging salai masak lemak, you will be spoiled for choice.
