Isaacman was tethered to the SpaceX craft during his spacewalk, and Nicole says the whole thing was safe. She says there is no more danger to a civilian than for a NASA astronaut, as private expeditions include the same training as NASA missions.

00:00Yeah, you know, I mean, I wasn't intimately involved in any way with the training that
00:05these, you know, this group of four, you know, humans have done for the past, for the last
00:10several years, actually, building up to this day of, you know, popping that hatch open
00:15and, and moving out.
00:18You mentioned Ed White.
00:19It's like, they're not starting from scratch, right?
00:22They've got this history and experience from what NASA has done, what our, you know, our,
00:28you know, our international partners have done with spacewalking to, to build on.
00:33And they have, you know, when they, when they went out of the hatch today, they took all
00:37of that with them.
00:38I, I'm, I'm feel very confident that they did that with them.
00:42You know, SpaceX is a company that NASA has partnered with to take our crew members to
00:48and from the International Space Station on that same Dragon capsule.
00:53And the, I don't know, just the integrity and the diligence that's gone into building
00:59up that company in partnership with NASA and the experience there, I think lends itself
01:04to what they did today as well.
01:06Knowing those four people that were in that capsule today, none of them were going to,
01:10were going to pursue this if they themselves didn't feel like there was the safety in place,
01:15the diligence in place to make that happen.
01:18And they tested out, you know, this new suit they did, you know, you didn't see him crawling
01:22around, you know, you know, just going out to the end of that tether kind of willy nilly.
01:27This was a very deliberate test flight and you saw it every step of the way.
01:32If you listen to it, you heard it every step of the way.
01:35And that made me happy.
01:36You know, that gave me goosebumps too, to see how that progressed today.
01:40And I'm really looking forward to how this builds out in parallel with, and in concert
01:45with what NASA and the other agencies are doing in spaceflight as well.
