00:00There are a few things more flattering to a football fan and owners of football fans
00:06than having serious football folk talk to you as if you're an equal and discuss the
00:12whys and the wherefores of this piece of recruitment or that piece of recruitment or why we do
00:17this at Corner Kicks and why we do that at Corner Kicks. People love that, having the
00:21lid lifted and being brought into the inner circle. I think you wouldn't be the first
00:27owner to have an unofficial role in that regard. The difference with him was that it
00:34was made official and he still seems to be quite involved in it. It's also quite a convenient
00:40scapegoat for every time Hibs get a signing wrong. Every club gets signings wrong and
00:51particularly at the end of the market that Scottish football clubs are operating in it's
00:55going to be a low strike rate. But you can just go, that was Ian, he did that one. Instead
01:03of like, actually we had four scouts look to him, thought he was going to be brilliant,
01:06the manager liked him, the head of football liked him and we signed him. And it didn't
01:11work out because that's what happens in football sometimes. And they go, that was Ian who did
01:14that one. So he became a kind of a scapegoat for things a little bit as well.
