00:00My name is Martha here in Uganda and you know what, a few minutes from now I'm going to
00:09have a chat with our superstar Fresh Kid.
00:18How did the name Fresh Kid come about?
00:20My name like it was a very long story but I think I'll cut it short for you like when
00:25I was younger I used to support Freak 4 Maker because he was like the best musician around
00:29town and I knew all of his songs so his name there, they used to call him Freak 4 Maker
00:33Fresh Boy so I love that name so much.
00:37When I decided that I should make up a name and they decided to make for me a name, they
00:41were like support Freak 4 Maker, okay just go Fresh Kid.
00:44Do you happen to have any brothers and sisters, do they also do music?
00:53We are seven in the family like but in the boys we're only two so I'm the youngest boy,
00:58they don't do music.
00:59It's only my big brother who is interested, he's the one who helped me to start my music
01:03career like getting me managers and even taking me out to show my talents to remove the shyness
01:08so yeah, yeah he's the one who I shout out to.
01:10When did your music career begin?
01:12The professional music career started in 2019, I really love music, my favourite musician
01:17Freak 4 Maker helped me first, when I met him when he was singing and then I sang his
01:21song he gave me money, he gave me shirts and he became my friend so he helped me so
01:26much to go to the top level until now.
01:33How many songs do you have or albums?
01:36I can't give a number but a rough estimate about like 20 up to 25 and I've not even released
01:43an album yet but in future.
01:51Which song among them, among all your songs is your favourite?
01:55I'm not saying all of them but maybe I'll say Banteka because it has the biggest vibe
02:00when you go on stage, everyone sings it, everyone likes vibes so yeah, that's my favourite song.
02:06Can you briefly sing for us a short acapella?
02:09Alright.
02:29Who writes your songs?
02:30My music writer is 14K Bongo but the thing is I work with so many writers because you
02:35have to feel another tone, sometimes I can have a song when it's mixed like three writers
02:41but I think 14K Bongo is the one who I started with and is the one who has helped me most
02:45so that's why I'll say him.
02:47Who produces your music?
02:49Like producing is not anyone because producing, I don't have any person I can say because
02:55there are too many producers and we have to work with many producers but the producer
03:00that I started with and is the one who has made like my most songs and like my best hit
03:05songs, his name is Lego, producer from Badman Records.
