00:00I try to get up and I am unable to walk I thought I had a stomach bug I've been
00:15on birth control since before we got married but the doctor says well you are
00:18in fact pregnant we had no idea our sister was pregnant you got to be
00:22pregnant silly to be in labor whoa whoa whoa there's a whole human inside of me
00:27was about to come out when I went into the hospital I thought I had a stomach
00:30ache and I came out with a whole baby one in 2,500 women who give birth have
00:36cryptic or hidden pregnancies and don't know that they're pregnant until they
00:39give birth just by the look of like terror and shock on her face I knew that
00:44that she didn't know in no way shape or form was she mentally prepared for this
00:49normally people have nine months to prepare this is like nine minutes
00:54everything moved so quickly I felt like I was literally in a movie
01:03oh you look handsome it's fine I can do a little mom lick it's fine so how did
01:17this all go down let's start from the beginning it's February at 2022 and I'm
01:26a senior in high school my family lives in Covington Kentucky my priorities are
01:30getting ready for college and figuring out what I'm gonna do with the rest of
01:34my life I am so excited for graduation I feel like high school has been the
01:38longest four years of my life and I'm ready to get started with something new
01:41what do you do for fun I love hanging out with my boyfriend my family and
01:46attending church every weekend Gabby's really funny and like into beauty so I
01:52feel like I always ask her for tips like oh you have like new lashes today like
01:56where'd you get those or she always has advice to give and I feel like she's
02:01always very level-headed Abby's just very kind makes me feel
02:06warm like I can talk to her about anything very intelligent I can just go
02:10on and on really me and Keondra actually met in middle school so seventh grade
02:14we were both 12 which is crazy he actually stood up to a bully for me it
02:19was a boy kicking in back of her chair and I told him to stop that so I
02:23basically stood up to a bully for her I think they were sneaking and dating at
02:28sixth grade I was 13 when we started dating actually so we have to remember
02:34that we were there at one point our mom's watching this me and Gabby are not
02:44your typical teenagers we don't really party or drink or smoke we just love to
02:49spend time together so there is one thing that you guys did that teenagers
02:53do right yes we had a lot of fun for religious reasons I didn't want to
03:05really go to my mom about birth control I didn't want to go behind her back or
03:09do anything like that so I kind of you know just went without it
03:21he's supposed to get snipped when was that supposed to happen that's been
03:26supposed to happen for a really long time
03:31since September 2022 and my husband and I have five kids together Alex is a very
03:41nurturing person her first instinct is always to the kids I'm a phlebotomist
03:46for a plasma center I draw people's blood all day I'm on my feet all day
03:50working 40 hours a week and raising five kids my personal time now is pretty much
03:56taking a shower and going to bed with so much on your plate do you ever get time
04:00for yourself my husband and I played Dungeons and Dragons Alex and I are just
04:04two big kids ourselves I mean that's why it's really an important like facet to
04:10making our household work is that pressure relief that valve I was
04:14actually really resistant to playing it I thought it was stupid just slowly over
04:18time he won me over gaming has to be consistent so we get together on a
04:22weekly basis and we run from about 4 to 5 p.m. to 1 2 a.m. I'm a level 7 dwarf
04:27and I create things out of stone we're nerds so it's not a frat party it's just
04:34a fun time it's a good time for adults to get together and be adults this is
04:37the only alone time we have together that's how we reconnect and it still
04:41remain like a couple and sometimes the Dungeons and Dragons campaigns end with
04:45a little romance too it's my senior prom I actually got a chance to decorate and
04:55kind of coordinate prom so I was really excited to see the finished product
04:59Gabby looks beautiful it's a four-length dress that's form-fitting she looked
05:05very elegant and I came to the realization that wow she's grown up I am
05:11feeling amazing I felt the most beautiful I've ever felt in my life we
05:14dance it was night that I will never forget so she is pregnant at prom but we
05:22just didn't know this
05:26it's Halloween 2022 our kids love Halloween it's one of the best times of
05:34year we go all out for Halloween so we hit two neighborhoods and I've walked
05:39about two miles Alex is exactly the same as just as much energy as ever I don't
05:45notice any changes she's just running around in her costume showing the kids
05:48a good time you know when I was pregnant with my other kids I had nausea vomiting
05:53I had food cravings I had aversions she's had rough pregnancies every time
05:59fatigue morning sickness joint pain back pain heartburn she's always had problems
06:05and it always starts off like almost immediately but I don't see anything I
06:09see Alex once a week and she looks exactly the same as she always has we
06:13have five kids she would know if she was pregnant even though raising five kids
06:18is never easy I love being a mom it's the best thing that I've ever done with
06:22my life I just fell in love with taking care of somebody else and loving
06:26someone unconditionally especially our son who has leukemia Xander was
06:32diagnosed with leukemia 2020 was one of the worst stages of it seeing my son in
06:37the hospital sick is devastating it's the most heartbreaking thing a parent
06:42can go through but he's always kept a positive attitude Alex managed an
06:47enormous amount of stress when our son Xander was diagnosed with leukemia and
06:50the treatments alone are four days a week I only did that twice throughout
06:54the whole thing because of work and everything I don't know how she did it
06:57for almost three years it's very hard to be a mom with a kid who is sick because
07:02I'm always attending to him I can't always give my other kids attention as
07:06well and so I feel guilty about that a lot I really don't have time to take
07:10care of myself I'm just so used to pushing any health issues I have to the
07:14side it's December 2022 and Xander is finishing his treatment for leukemia
07:25what's amazing is he's getting to ring the warrior bell ringing the bell means
07:29that you're done with treatment and you get to go home this is a huge deal for
07:40our family because it means we get to go back to having a normal life Xander
07:44gets to start school he gets to be a normal kid I'm so proud of Xander he's
07:50the strongest kid I know I'm feeling really happy in this moment
07:56Keandre has to head to school early because he plays football Keandre is my
08:00person and having him away for a long time is kind of scary to me I'm going to
08:05school in Virginia I'm playing football and my major is business and finance I
08:09am going about an hour and a half away at the University of Louisville Keandre
08:13is about eight hours away so this is gonna be a big life change being so far
08:17apart for the first time I am really nervous about a long-distance
08:21relationship it's really hard to leave Gabby because we spend literally every
08:25day together and we do everything together we just really are each other's
08:29best friends I feel like my anxiety and my stress were heightened during this
08:34time I was having mood swings and feeling extra emotional but I attributed
08:39that to being apart from Keandre it's fall of 2022 and I'm officially a
08:48freshman at the University of Louisville moving day was stressful to say the
08:53least so I'm lugging lots of boxes lots of crates we just going back and forth
08:57we never would have let Gabby lift all that heavy stuff if we knew she was
09:02pregnant just looking at her she was exhausted I'm finally moved in and now
09:06it's time to say goodbye to mom and dad when I shut that door tears just rolled
09:10down my eyes I'm very proud of her and her being able to go to Louisville but
09:15at the same time you just always worry with them being on their own for the
09:18first time I have family in Louisville so my cousin Peyton basically my big
09:23sister is down there so she definitely gives me a sense of relief me and Gabby
09:27are really close we're cousins by blood but we actually grew up more as sisters
09:33I mean you obviously make really great relationships in college with friends
09:37but I think nothing beats having family there so I was really excited to show
09:42her around campus my first semester as a sociology major is going well I'm making
09:47friends and adjusting but I still miss my boyfriend I find myself kind of
09:53napping a lot more to fill up the time after class if I can't talk to him our
09:58schedules were just very opposite of each other so I felt like I was kind of
10:02losing my time in my relationship with him it is November 10th I have been
10:10experiencing pain for about three days now and it is excruciating and this is
10:15honestly the worst time because finals are coming up and I need to study but my
10:19pain is so bad that I can barely get any sleep at night so when I went to
10:23breakfast I could not even sit in the chairs that's when I knew that time was
10:28up and I needed to get to the hospital quick
10:37during the day she kind of kept texting me let me know that she still wasn't
10:41feeling well and she was having trouble walking I felt like someone was literally
10:46stabbing me in my pelvis and it was just a piercing pain and I told her I said
10:51well you need to get you know to a doctor now call Peyton she gets in the
10:55car and I can visibly see she kind of can't fully like sit straight she was
11:01honestly trying to put on a brave face for me but I could tell she was in a lot
11:05of pain I'm very scared because I would say that I have a pretty good pain
11:08tolerance we were thinking maybe it could be a cyst maybe or some sort of
11:12rupture and I knew that something was terribly wrong so we get to the ER and
11:18Gabby is describing her symptoms to the receptionist the nurse asked me if I
11:24could be pregnant I tell them no because it just didn't make sense in
11:28terms of timeline but they did order a urine sample just in case I'm like
11:33looking at Gabby and I'm like she doesn't look pregnant I don't notice any
11:37weight changes I'm around Gabby all the time there's no way she's pregnant the
11:41nurse finally comes back in with the results of my test she says I'm pregnant
11:47I'm in shock and I'm kind of breaking down and Peyton also is breaking down
11:52with me I was just like in shock like my mouth like visibly dropped open up
11:57and like tears just started falling she's only 18 years old now her life is
12:03completely changed like from this moment at this point I called my mom I told her
12:08and it was kind of the typical mom response did she just say she was
12:12pregnant of course I'm worried sick about her I actually went to a co-worker
12:17and fell on her arms crying I'm saying Gabrielle's dramatic I think I I'm a
12:22bit dramatic myself I promise you we got done there probably about 40 45
12:26minutes I was driving so fast and I think we both were kind of trying to
12:31calm each other down pretty much blacked out everything moved so quickly I felt
12:36like I was literally in a movie because they're like look like you're 10
12:39centimeters you're there and you're probably feeling contractions that's
12:43what this pain is I remember screaming and I honestly don't remember what
12:47happens after that because I passed out I'm on the phone with my mom at the same
12:52time and so she's just telling me you know Peyton be calm like you've got to
12:55be calm for Gabby and eventually they transfer her into the room she's gonna
13:00deliver in and the doctor comes in and I saw the doctor's eyes get humongous and
13:06he states that he feels hair it was kind of like an out-of-body experience I felt
13:11like I was kind of standing on the side of me and seeing what would happen thank
13:14God mom and dad are finally here I went into the mode of okay let me be the boss
13:19of this situation I said well guess what baby girl we gotta do this so push I
13:24remember feeling the ring of fire before he even came fully out that is a true
13:31thing that is not made up you feel the pressure you feel the burn it was a
13:35difficult situation because we were trying to support her and be there for
13:39her but also we had Keandre on the phone FaceTime what's going through your head
13:44every emotion you can think I was really scared more than anything though not
13:48sure if she's alright baby's alright everything was a blur this is crazy I am
13:58having some crazy back pains I can't get up and down my stairs I'm having a hard
14:03time even just walking around my house she's taking telehealth visits because
14:07she can't handle the pain she thinks it's a reoccurring issue from her
14:10slipped disc for me I know this is sciatica so for sciatica my doctor
14:15prescribed me medication to block nerve pain my doctor has no reason to suspect
14:21I could be pregnant it is June 24th 2023 and all the kids are home for summer
14:29break I'm gonna do something special so I make the kids bacon and pancakes for
14:33breakfast I woke up super early but before I can even start making the
14:38batter something feels off I'm really hot and I need to get in the shower just
14:42a couple minutes after I had been in there and all of a sudden I feel a pop I
14:46look down and I see blood the pain is excruciating I'm screaming for help but
14:52nobody can hear me I'm in bed and all you hear is thump thump thump holy I'm
14:58in a complete state of shock
15:04I was just stuck in the shower basically and I was crying and I was
15:13calling out for help I was freaking out and I was holding on to the wall and I
15:17was gripping the side of the bathtub my husband came into the bathroom and found
15:23me there I didn't know what happened I couldn't see the front of you so I
15:26couldn't tell if you were injured from the front I didn't know if you fell
15:29were you having a heart attack I just didn't know he helped me get out of the
15:33shower could barely walk and I managed to make it to the edge of the bed yeah I
15:37remember being stuck here and I couldn't move at all yeah it's terrifying cuz
15:42you're so scared that that's gonna be it like the second before the paramedics
15:46showed up there that that was gonna be the last time I was gonna see you cuz I
15:49didn't know I didn't know anything that makes me sad that you thought you were
15:53gonna lose me I didn't know that you felt that way it's all like everything's
15:58pointless without you you're my best friend so it was pretty terrifying and
16:03then the paramedics showed up and then I was essentially pushed out of the room I
16:08didn't know that you weren't in there with me was down the hallway so I just
16:12remember being stuck like this one of the paramedics felt and said holy shit
16:18there's a head I just couldn't believe it so after he came out one of the
16:25paramedics put him on my back and I think they were suctioning his mouth out
16:29maybe after a minute or so he started crying on my back the paramedics he
16:34turned around to me and he goes do you have any blankets so I went and got him
16:37blankets and then 30 seconds later they were passing something back I thought
16:42maybe they're changing out the towels he handed me a pile of blankets that ended
16:46up being a baby one of the EMTs helped me go up the stairs and that was really
16:51really hard to do and then put me in the ambulance and then we got to the
16:54hospital and they immediately put me into a room and the nurses and doctors
16:59took him and we're checking him out so many thoughts are going through my head
17:03about how this baby could be sick I'm praying that this baby is okay but
17:08finally after what seems like an eternity the doctor comes back and tells
17:12us that he's perfectly healthy and I just remember feeling like a flood of
17:17relief this baby is perfect I can't stop staring at him I'm enveloped by him I
17:22can't explain it other than there was just an immediate connection he has big
17:26dark blue eyes the instant they put him in my arms I was in love with him and
17:32now I'm a mother to six kids I'm pacing around the room trying to think of a
17:36name with everything that happened he's got to be the luckiest kid and so I
17:40named him luck luck is nine pounds three ounces and twenty two and a half inches
17:44long the reason why I wouldn't have felt movement this time is because the
17:48placenta was huge I mean it was massive and if that attaches in the front then
17:55the placenta blocks you from being able to feel movement from the outside we've
18:00made it home with luck and all of the other kids are freaking out they're
18:04super excited and they just want to hold him and look at him he actually has been
18:08one of the easiest babies ever he slept through the night immediately he's just
18:15happy all the time we have a group chat and Alex sent these pictures of a baby I
18:26totally thought it was a joke I just kind of looked and go what the heck is
18:29this and she's like welcome the new addition apparently Alex did have a baby
18:33we might have taken a week off from gaming the next time we game there was
18:37luck he's allowed me to get like kind of a redo on some things because every time
18:44you have a kid the next one you do better with luck like I really want to
18:48do my best so I'm pretty excited to kind of just roll with the punches
18:59after my baby was born they went ahead and had my mom cut the umbilical cord
19:04because I could tell that my dad was a little overwhelmed obviously we're all
19:08shocked we're all cut off guard by this but our main focus is Gabby's health and
19:14the baby's health like I cut all the fear that I was having and anxiety that
19:18I was having for Gabrielle being a mother and I felt like everything's
19:23gonna be all right at the start of the day I was just waking up going about my
19:26college day going to classes and now I'm here at the end of the day seeing Gabby
19:30like with a baby so like even though it was scary and so unexpected I think like
19:35in that moment when I saw him I was like oh like Dave you're like meant to be
19:39here where does the baby come from like one minute I'm chilling my friends
19:43playing a game 2k relaxing then boom baby once they did place him on my chest
19:50and I felt the warmth of him and I just cannot believe my eyes and how beautiful
19:54he was I ain't have no dad to grow up with just me my mom and my brothers so
19:59like I just always had this idea when I'm a dad
