00:00PHIVOX is taking care of the residents of Canlaon City
00:03even when they are sick due to the volcano's eruption.
00:07Yesterday, 11,000 tons of sulfur dioxide were released by the volcano.
00:13Rion Lesigues will tell you the details live.
00:15Rion!
00:19Patrick, the latest record of the highest sulfur dioxide gas emission
00:24that PHIVOX has recorded from the volcano Canlaon.
00:28In the past few days, Patrick, almost 10,000 tons of sulfur dioxide
00:33were released by the volcano Canlaon.
00:36Now, it has reached more than 11,000 tons per day.
00:41The reason is to increase the number of barangays
00:44that are now experiencing volcanic smog.
00:50PHIVOX reminded the public who live near the volcano Canlaon
00:54that outdoor activities are limited as much as possible.
00:57This is because of the spread of volcanic fog
01:00due to the continuous eruption of volcano Canlaon.
01:04According to PHIVOX, they said that if they cannot avoid going out,
01:08they should use N95 face masks, drink plenty of water
01:13to reduce throat irritation and constriction.
01:16Currently, the affected barangay is in Siam, Patrick.
01:22Here are the barangays of San Miguel, La Carlota City, Barangay Masulog,
01:27Barangay Pula, Canlaon City, Barangay Kodkod, San Carlos City,
01:32Barangay Enolingan, and Moises Padilla.
01:35PHIVOX particularly cares for individuals with health conditions
01:40such as asthma, lung disease, old age, pregnancy, and children.
01:44Long exposure to volcanic smog
01:47can cause irritation to the eyes and respiratory tract.
01:51In the latest PHIVOX data,
01:53the volcanic sulfur dioxide gas emission from the volcano has increased.
01:57Yesterday, the latest record of the highest volcanic sulfur dioxide gas emission
02:02recorded by the volcano reached 11,556 tons per day.
02:08The volcano is still at alert level 2,
02:11but it is not far from rising due to the continuous eruption of the volcano.
02:15Residents are advised to remain alert
02:18and avoid entering the 4-kilometer radius permanent danger zone.
02:22It is far from avoiding danger such as pyroclastic density currents,
02:27ballistic projectiles, and rockfall events.
02:30Patrick, in the past few days,
02:33PHIVOX has recorded more than 300 volcanic earthquakes.
02:37The local government in Canloon City is now saying
02:44that all classes are suspended
02:48and that tourist destinations in Canloon City
02:55will be closed to nearby cities and municipalities.
03:00So far, the good news is that
03:03there is still no sign of ashfall in any part of the Canloon Volcano.
03:10Patrick.
03:11Be careful, our fellow citizens in Canloon City.
03:14Thank you very much, Ryan Leziguez.
