00:00Good morning sir and good morning to all of you, I am Atty. Jamie Lynn Benguet from the Market Development and Administration Department.

00:28Atty. Jamie Lynn, can you tell us, especially to the residents of Quezon City, what is this program and where can vendors be helped here in Quezon City?

00:38The Vendor Business School is an initiative of our Quezon City Government to teach and help our small food vendors on how to manage their business,

00:52what they can do, what they can add, how to cope with climate change, especially crop seasonality, and things like that.

01:01What is this Vendor School?

01:07Yes, it is a business school.

01:09How will they enroll here and what will they learn here?

01:13We at MDAD choose who will enroll here at the Vendor Business School.

01:20We have categories of who will enroll here. There are age standards, market, private, public market, and temporary vending sites or what we can see on the vendors' streets.

01:36But we heard that this will be held inside the Quezon City Hall.

01:40Will this be held?

01:42Yes, the sessions actually, because we have 7 classes in the first batch, they are from different places.

01:51Some have sessions in the market, others in the city hall.

01:57So they go to the city hall to have classes and they will go to our facilitators or their teachers one-on-one to have coaching sessions.

02:07There are no other requirements, you just need to ask the authorities there that you are a vendor.

02:15We just look at it in our registration if they are legally licensed by Quezon City.

02:21There is a permit from Quezon City.

02:24So there is no fee for this?

02:27No, there is no fee.

02:30Recently, you have 108 graduates. What are they doing now?

02:39Now, they are applying what they learned in the Vendor Business School.

02:43They are learning how to record their sales and what they are buying.

02:49That's what they are doing now, they are applying for it.

02:51Now, because they just finished their graduation on August 23,

02:56a partner of the Quezon City Government is studying the Consultative Group of International Agricultural Research or CGIAR

03:05to see what can be improved in the modules that were used in the first batch.

03:10What is the feedback of the graduates in the program?

03:14Did this help them?

03:16Will their business prosper?

03:17Surprisingly, yes.

03:19They are very happy in this program of the Quezon City Government

03:24because they were helped in a way that they learned something.

03:29They also got incentives.

03:31They have kits that they can use even if there are no more sessions.

03:35They also have what we call a life-long program.

03:41For the information dissemination,

03:45for sure, not all vendors in Quezon City have an idea in this program.

03:51How do you advise others to have a chance to expand their business through the help of LGU?
