The Block AU S20 Episode 19 - Main Bedroom & WIR Week
Transcript
00:00Previously, Christian and Mimi, after a big win, a huge loss.
00:08It's a very brave decision that you've made.
00:11Love you all.
00:13And a red herring.
00:15I'd like you to meet your new contestants.
00:17Hello.
00:18Georgia.
00:19Georgia came up and introduced herself
00:21and announced that her and Ronnie were taking over House 1.
00:24You're leaving?
00:25Yeah.
00:26Why?
00:27If they come on, I'm leaving.
00:28I'm done.
00:29Our prank has backfired.
00:31Oh, no.
00:32They're only here for a date.
00:34All the best. Good luck.
00:35See you later.
00:36You're going to need it.
00:37And then, all-stars Ronnie and Georgia
00:39were replaced by the real new contestants,
00:42sisters Maddie and Charlotte.
00:44And they have a secret weapon.
00:46They're property flippers.
00:48I know that this is not your first rodeo.
00:50No.
00:51We don't want anyone else to know.
00:53Straight away, they encountered the unique challenges of the block.
00:56What's the goal with last ring?
00:58It's because Jessie and Paige are now gone,
01:00we said we'd love if Brendan could work with us.
01:03So, like, one of the things, obviously, on the block
01:05is you sort of have to find all your trades.
01:07Tonight, the sisters fight battles on all fronts.
01:10OK.
01:11You can do it, Anthon.
01:12Yeah.
01:13Just talk to me and I'll tell you if we can achieve it or if we can't.
01:15Yeah, I appreciate that.
01:16I don't care what you want to do.
01:17Grand cops are served from yours truly.
01:20It's unfair to the other teams,
01:22so that is almost paramount to cheating.
01:25And plaster panic sets in.
01:27They are our plasterers, like, get them back.
01:29You're going to leave me high and dry.
01:41Friday, we've got a lot of stuff happening,
01:44so we're going to have a really busy day.
01:47Yep, the teams have a massive amount of work ahead of them.
01:53Their main bedroom and walk-in robes all have soaring ceilings
01:56and an average footprint of 30 square metres.
02:00Which still need to be sheeted, painted, furnished and styled,
02:04all before Sunday's reveal in less than 50 hours' time.
02:09Guys, have a great day.
02:11Enjoy. Thank you very much.
02:13And because Monday was a public holiday,
02:15it's a shorter week for the biggest room that requires the most trade.
02:20What a time to throw the new kids on the block into the deep end.
02:25It's a little bit crazy because we had a challenge yesterday
02:28and then the first day we only came through like halfway through the day.
02:31So we need to sheet the rest of the room and down the hallway
02:35and then do all the externals on the angles
02:38and then set hopefully maybe two coats of set today.
02:43And then I have to go shopping for the first time.
02:46And it's Friday. Is it Friday? Yeah.
02:49So I need to get all the linen, all the cushions,
02:52or everything really.
02:54We do have investment properties we bought when we were younger
02:58and we have renovated them.
03:00But I've never styled a room
03:01and I've never designed a multi-million dollar property in a week.
03:06Welcome to the block, ladies.
03:11Of all the houses so far,
03:12Carly and Brad's main bedroom and walk-in robe is the most advanced.
03:17Yeah, we're going not too bad.
03:18We've got to finish the base and then top the plaster.
03:22We're going to finish our cladding.
03:24The door's going in.
03:26Are you going to make it to the finish line?
03:28Are you going to get there?
03:29We're going to get there.
03:30But we're going to definitely be sleep deprived by the time we get there.
03:34It's going to be a push.
03:37In house three, the plasterers are also hard at work.
03:41We're definitely not where we hoped to be.
03:44But I think we're still on track to get our plastering finished,
03:48hopefully get it dried so we're painting early tomorrow.
03:51But plastering is not so straightforward for houses one and five.
03:56When Jesse and Paige left, we were sharing the same plasterer
03:59and I thought it would be fair to keep sharing them for one more week.
04:05The understanding was that Brendan, he was going to come in with a team.
04:08He's got about four or five people that are inducted and work with him
04:11and then we're going to do both houses.
04:14But today, Brendan's crew is just himself and one other plasterer,
04:18which is not enough to do the plastering in house five, let alone house one,
04:23leaving the sisters in a precarious position.
04:28Have we sorted out the plastering scenario?
04:30No.
04:31I think we're going to have two boys.
04:33So I haven't seen them yet. Have you seen them?
04:35No.
04:36Please come. I really hope so.
04:38Otherwise, if they don't get that done today, then...
04:40No chance, yeah.
04:42The whole situation was a bit of a schmuzzle.
04:44My understanding was that we were sharing the plasterers,
04:47but I think their alliance went more with house five over us.
04:52And Charlotte's right.
04:53While she hangs chiprock alone,
04:55Brendan's team of one is very busy in house five.
04:59We had one guy doing the top coat and he said he was going to struggle to finish.
05:02Do you think only one's going to get done tonight?
05:04None of them are going to get done. He's right.
05:06Really?
05:07And Christian's regretting the agreement to share the plastering team.
05:11I was trying to be too nice, and I should have just said to you,
05:14look, if you can't do theirs, just let me know
05:16and I'll make the hard decision to let them know
05:18that we're not going to finish your house.
05:23I have to find a plasterer ASAP because our carpenters have told us
05:27if we don't find someone to come this afternoon,
05:29then we will not finish, and that's not going to happen.
05:35Hello.
05:36Hi, my name's Maddie.
05:37I'm a contestant of The Block this year,
05:39and I was wondering if you happen to be available
05:42or interested in doing some plastering work for us?
05:48Right. Not really.
05:50No worries.
05:54I've called, like, every plasterer I know to man at this point,
05:58and everyone, as soon as they hear Phillip Island, is like, see ya.
06:02So, um, yeah.
06:05In house two, Courtney and Grant are hoping their ambitious room
06:08will score them their second ever win.
06:11As you enter, we've got a big curved ceiling through the hallway,
06:15which is a lot of intricate detail
06:18as it flows down into the walls as well.
06:21The hallway leads past the walk-in robe to the bedroom,
06:24where there's a Velux skylight, a gigantic bed,
06:28a herringbone floor and an inset fireplace.
06:33We may have bitten off a bit more than we can chew in terms of detail.
06:37It's a big job. Yeah, it's a big job.
06:39But we have got a bigger team this week with our plasterers,
06:42so we are hoping to put a bit of extra money into labour
06:45to then get the job done.
06:47With six plasterers, it's the biggest team on The Block,
06:51and they'll need every last one of them
06:53if they're going to have any hope of finishing.
06:57Did the girls have a chat to you this morning?
06:59Oh, they chatted to us last night.
07:01So whether they want to help afterwards, is that what you're referring to?
07:04Yeah.
07:05You prefer not to share teams?
07:07Yeah, we won't have time.
07:09I've got a good plastering team, I want to keep it that way.
07:11Maybe go tell them that, cos I think they're hoping.
07:13Yeah, I'll go have a chat to them. Yeah.
07:20Hello. Hello, how you going? Good.
07:22Are you having the plasterers? Yeah, the other plasterers.
07:24No good. No good? No good.
07:26They're going to be in ours pretty much all day. OK.
07:28They're going to be around our flooring guys,
07:29so they're actually going to plaster one side of the ceiling first,
07:31and then they're going to move across while the flooring guys
07:33do what they need to do and work on the other side.
07:35So it's going to be a bit of chaos. OK.
07:37Bummer. Bummer.
07:38Thanks so much for asking, though. No worries.
07:40Appreciate it. No worries. Thanks.
07:44I was going around stressing.
07:49Knock, knock.
07:51Whoa.
07:53Are they here? Kylie and Brad?
07:56They both out?
07:58Are you a plasterer? Yeah.
08:00Do you want to maybe come to our house after?
08:03How much more work do you have to do?
08:10Do you have any recommendations for plasterers?
08:13Not really, hey.
08:15With no plasterers, the sisters have resorted to builder Zak
08:18and his chippies hanging the chiprock.
08:21Not ideal, but perhaps it's the perfect time
08:24to check in on our blockheads.
08:26Oh, shell, you beat me to work.
08:28I did. Can you believe it?
08:30There you go, and I even got you a brekkie.
08:32Cup of tea. All sorted. Thank you very much.
08:34Hey, how much do you know about the girls in House 1?
08:37Obviously, they've come in on a whim.
08:39I know plenty about them. Right.
08:41And you're going to be very interested to hear their background.
08:43Yeah, I'm very, very intrigued,
08:45cos anyone who can just drop their life like that and land here?
08:4922 and 24, and they have a very big secret weapon.
08:53Yes.
08:57And then we also have 16K there.
08:59Hey, ladies.
09:01Oh, hi. Hello. How are you doing?
09:03Nice to see you.
09:04Shelly, so nice.
09:05And we've, like, grown up, like, watching her
09:07on, like, all the different shows,
09:09and so, like, it feels, like, so surreal.
09:11I want to know what mid-20-somethings
09:15could just drop their lives,
09:17jump on a plane and land here and start renovating within a day.
09:20Wait for it, Shell. Here it comes.
09:22Well, we actually work for ourselves.
09:24We flip properties.
09:25Oh, no! Oh, OK.
09:27Well, thank you very much.
09:29How many properties have you done so far?
09:31We've renovated four.
09:32Three are still going at the moment.
09:34So how old are you?
09:3524.
09:36And 22.
09:37Oh, my God. This is great.
09:39We actually are managing stuff at home as well.
09:42Like this? Like in your own block?
09:44Not to the extreme of this,
09:45because we don't have that much money yet.
09:47This is crazy.
09:48It's a different market.
09:49Like, we're appealing to people
09:50that can only spend $800,000 or a million,
09:53not millions and millions.
09:54All right, but how did you even get into that?
09:56You would have been...
09:57We just...
09:58Children!
09:59Yeah.
10:00I was 19, wasn't I?
10:01Yeah, 19. I was 21.
10:02And we've been saving for a house deposit
10:04since we were, like, literal...
10:05Kids.
10:06Our dad's a mortgage broker, and he said,
10:08this is your bank.
10:09Start putting your money in here and see it grow.
10:11And so, yeah, we finished high school with house deposits.
10:13Finished high school with roughly how much coin?
10:16Do we want to say?
10:17Do we want to say?
10:19Um, it would be close to, like, what?
10:23$100,000.
10:24$70,000 to $100,000.
10:25Oh, my God.
10:26This is ridiculous.
10:28Cheryl!
10:29This is so empowering.
10:31Even if you never went into this,
10:33your parents have done such an incredible job
10:35setting you up for whatever you want to do
10:37to your inspiration.
10:38That's amazing.
10:39Amazing, isn't it?
10:40That is amazing.
10:41You realise that no-one has ever done what you're doing.
10:44You've come in a month in,
10:46someone's already built some of the house.
10:48You've hit the ground running.
10:49You're mid-week.
10:50If anyone can do this, it's you two.
10:53Well, I hope so.
10:54Time will tell.
10:55OK, so what do you think of all of this, then?
10:57You've got your spreadsheet up here.
10:58And I'm also guessing that this may not be the house
11:02that you'll want to go to auction with,
11:03so there might be some little re-do's along the way
11:06if we have to budget for those as well.
11:08I mean, Jessie and Paige did a beautiful job.
11:10I haven't seen this room.
11:11It's such a beautiful home.
11:13I know they were saying it's modern colonial,
11:14but I'm like, it's just not us.
11:16Us.
11:17I would describe our style as, like, coastal luxe.
11:19That room's going to be an actual shambles.
11:21Some of it was ordered by Georgia,
11:22then I've come in and been like,
11:23oh, I don't really know if I like that,
11:25but it's kind of too late because it's already ordered
11:27and the wallpaper's already coming.
11:28I ring up, I'm like, can I change it?
11:29And they're like, no.
11:30And I'm like, dang it.
11:31And then...
11:32Can you not use it?
11:33Can you just put...
11:34Should we go down and have a look?
11:35Yeah.
11:36Let's go down and have a look.
11:37We need your advice.
11:38In their main bedroom,
11:39Georgia's design has continued the modern colonial theme
11:42established by Jessie and Paige.
11:44Rust-coloured chairs and striped wallpaper feature.
11:47This is the wallpaper which I don't really love.
11:50I love this.
11:52See, Ronnie and Georgia have chosen,
11:54they don't like any of it.
11:55No, no, no.
11:56This is not screaming coastal luxe.
11:58Just remember, Ronnie and Georgia,
12:00the last time they did the block, they came last.
12:02You're going to get us into trouble.
12:03No.
12:04I like what you're doing.
12:05Georgia has created this beautiful room, right?
12:07OK.
12:08I don't, like, it's not my style,
12:09but I'm like, am I going to, like, flop even more
12:12if I try and, like, so last minute change something?
12:14Are we, like, risking not even finishing it?
12:16Yeah, but stripes for me is just not doing it.
12:18OK, well, don't do it.
12:19What I would have liked to have done
12:20is some sort of, like, v-groove panelling on the back wall.
12:23Yes.
12:24Which is just sheets.
12:25No, we can't because we have to noggin.
12:26I don't think we're allowed to because of the metal.
12:28I don't know, we have to check that.
12:29I'm scared to talk to the carpenter.
12:30He's going to bite my head off.
12:32How do you run your carpenter's backhoe?
12:33We have a relationship, like, over three years.
12:36We, like, run the show and, like, he's, yeah, not intimidating.
12:40He's here working for you, you employ him,
12:42you pay him for his hours, he does what you want him to do.
12:44You're in charge.
12:45So, you've got two choices.
12:46Yes.
12:47Rip it apart, do your own thing,
12:48stick to what Georgia did and not like it anymore.
12:50What would you do?
12:51I think, at this point,
12:52we probably can't rip out the whole room of plaster,
12:55but at least do a feature wall so I can get rid of the wallpaper.
13:00So, Georgia's wallpaper is out, replaced by hardy-groove panelling.
13:04With the colour scheme becoming a more coastal beige and sage.
13:08I'm meant to be going shopping today to get everything
13:11and I'm like, I don't even know what I'm looking for
13:13because I'm, like, everything's so off in the air.
13:15How about we go shopping?
13:16Yes.
13:17Yes?
13:18Yes.
13:19I could cry.
13:20We have experience renovating on a smaller scale.
13:23We haven't had, like, a lot of experience in design.
13:26So not confident when it comes to styling.
13:29If you don't start doing your style now...
13:32It's never going to happen.
13:33It's never going to happen.
13:35But they kind of gave us the confidence
13:36to just stick with the guns of what we want to do.
13:38Yeah.
13:39And start from scratch.
13:41Boom, boom.
13:42I'll talk to Zac on the way out the door.
13:43Yeah, OK, you can talk.
13:44You got this.
13:45Let's go, Shell.
13:46It's chaotic.
13:47This is awesome.
13:49I'm going to flip this on its head.
13:51We might not finish, but we're going to push to the end.
13:54Coming up, Shell,
13:55I don't know if you've met the new host of The Block, Grumpy.
13:58I get grumpy with Grumpy.
14:00That is not allowed to happen ever again.
14:03Oh, my God!
14:05And he cops a special kind of punishment.
14:08An hour-and-a-half drive there, an hour-and-a-half drive back.
14:11Really made the wrong decision.
14:12While blaster pressure ramps up.
14:15Where's Sam?
14:16You are the heroes of the day!
14:18Why are we letting other teams borrow our blasterers for?
14:21Can we just get the whole team back in there?
14:23I feel like it's going to be enough.
14:33Mmm!
14:35Thanks to a mammoth effort from both Charlotte and their build team,
14:39the new kids in House 1 finally have gyprock on the walls.
14:43Now they need plasterers to do the base coat and top coat today.
14:47So the girls can sand the walls, paint
14:50and finish their room in the next 46 hours.
14:53On top of that,
14:54they have decided to completely change the design of their room,
14:58starting with George's wallpaper choice.
15:02First of all, I need to work out noggins, if that's even possible,
15:05because if we rip off gyprock...
15:07And then James Hardy, we need to contact,
15:09to see if they can actually come today.
15:11OK, I'm going to ring this number.
15:13Please, please, please work.
15:15As much as Georgia and Ronnie's design was so beautiful,
15:18it just wasn't me.
15:20Please answer.
15:22You have reached the message bank.
15:24I feel confident that I can do a better job at executing my style
15:29than executing someone else's, but it's Friday.
15:33They have a lot of questions.
15:35The person who can answer one of them is Aidan,
15:38site manager for 9 and 6.
15:40We've had a bit of a last-minute panic change
15:44and realised that the room that Ronnie and Georgia planned,
15:47while it's beautiful... Oh, here comes our builder.
15:49Perfect.
15:50It's beautiful, it's modern, colonial,
15:53and we're trying to move away from that.
15:55I want to put James Hardy product over gyprock,
16:00but I don't know if we can do that.
16:02Hardy groove or something. Hardy groove, yep.
16:04There's no reason we probably can't glue it to the plaster
16:07and we'll come up with a fixing detail.
16:09We'll have to put some screws through into the studs.
16:12Yeah, I think it's doable.
16:14How quickly can you get it?
16:16I think you should ring Mitre 10 and talk to Barry.
16:18Is he still here? Barry's right there.
16:20I think he's got some product at Mitre 10.
16:22OK, let's go and talk to Barry.
16:24Do you happen to have some of the James Hardy V-groove in stock?
16:30Yes, we do.
16:31Could you have that delivered to us ASAP?
16:34Awesome, I can do that.
16:35Amazing, you're the best.
16:37Thanks, Barry, appreciate it.
16:38All right, guys, take care.
16:39Thanks.
16:40Wow.
16:41OK, so gyprock's staying.
16:44Rightio, time to continue on this week's walkarounds.
16:48Ah!
16:50Hello.
16:51Shell, I don't know if you've met the new host of the block, Grumpy.
16:55He's making all the decisions now.
16:57He is, indeed.
16:58Am I? Is that the word on the street?
17:00He showed us yesterday when you just decided
17:03you weren't going to come to a challenge.
17:05Where's Grumpy?
17:06He's working.
17:07What?
17:08He's part of the build team.
17:10Who's running this show, Grumpy or me?
17:15That is not allowed to happen ever again.
17:17That is not.
17:18It's your obligation to come to the challenge.
17:21Number one, because I said so.
17:24And number two, it's unfair to the other teams.
17:28You're here working on your bedroom, winning 10,000 bucks,
17:32while they've left their bedroom back at the challenge.
17:35So that is almost paramount to cheating.
17:38I disagree.
17:40So that is almost paramount to cheating.
17:43I disagree in the fact that we would not have plaster up on the walls
17:47if I didn't stick around.
17:48But everyone else is in the same boat, Grant.
17:50Yes.
17:51They had to leave sight.
17:53You were meant to leave sight, so it's an even playing field.
17:56They're all struggling to get plaster on the walls as well.
17:59Yours are set. Next door's not set.
18:01And if you win this week, how filthy are your mates going to...
18:04Well, not mates going to...
18:06You had an extra day.
18:08How about you just have a little time out with me
18:11for a couple of hours shopping?
18:13We can move on. We can move on.
18:15OK, I'll come and get you later.
18:17We got in trouble.
18:18So Shelley was going to take him out this afternoon
18:20as a bit of punishment.
18:21It won't happen again. No, definitely not.
18:23But do you have any regrets?
18:25I plead the fifth.
18:28Grant and Courtney are adding plenty of luxurious inclusions this week
18:32to create their modern Mediterranean bedroom and walk-in row.
18:36Look at this. That bed is beautiful.
18:38It's gorgeous. Where's that from?
18:40That's from the block shop.
18:41Look at that velvet, green velvet, like ruching.
18:44Ruching around the edge.
18:45The mattress is inset, and then you've got the...
18:48Oh, this velvet cushion.
18:49Yeah, sit around the outside.
18:51It's the best fits-the-leg king and queen.
18:53Ooh, I love that.
18:54Wow.
18:55Now, the budget is $16,000 for this room.
18:57The plaster bill alone is going to be absolutely enormous.
19:01We're going to be over-owned soon.
19:03You're going to be a molar.
19:04But we saved the last two weeks.
19:06I saw your plasterers out there getting the curves ready.
19:09You've got so much painting to do, haven't you?
19:11Yeah.
19:12We still don't know if we're going to finish.
19:14No doubt they'll be one of our biggest pushes to the finish line.
19:17Well, choppity-chop-chop, hey?
19:19Yeah.
19:20Yeah, let's go, Shel.
19:21Hey, um...
19:23Be prepared.
19:24Shel will pick you up sometime.
19:25Cos I'm very strict, very stern.
19:28Also going all out this week in the hope of a win,
19:32Mickey and Hayden in house three.
19:34And here we are.
19:35God, these are big spaces.
19:37Absolutely love the scalloped doors in the walk-in wardrobe.
19:41What are you doing?
19:43That's great.
19:44We've stepped it up, mate.
19:45This is cool, too.
19:46I like this.
19:47And what's that going to be, a feature?
19:49It's a mirror.
19:50It's a mirror?
19:51It's a giant mirror.
19:52It is not a mirror.
19:54And what are you going to put up there, stars or something like that?
19:56What are you doing?
19:57Stars are here, mate.
19:59This mystery feature is a coffered ceiling with LED lights.
20:03For a holiday resort feel, there's a porter timber bedhead
20:06and a palm tree grafico print.
20:08So we wanted to do something a bit grand,
20:10obviously being the main bed,
20:12so we didn't just want to have a big flat ceiling.
20:15A lot has gone down this week.
20:17Yeah, it's been massive.
20:18Crazy.
20:19First, obviously, Jessie and Paige leaving,
20:21then Ronnie and George are showing up.
20:23So then Ronnie and George are left.
20:25And Maddie and Charlotte turned up.
20:26And did you spend any time with them?
20:28We didn't meet them until the challenge day.
20:29We didn't even know anyone was here.
20:33We don't check our mail.
20:34So we're just doing our thing here in House 3
20:36and apparently those girls moved in 24 hours later.
20:39We found out about it.
20:40There's two new girls living in House 1.
20:41Welcome.
20:42We have no idea.
20:43No worries.
20:44Righto, come on, let's go, Cheryl.
20:45See you, boys.
20:46All right, thanks, guys.
20:47See you later.
20:48We are in a different world down at the bottom end of the block.
20:52Right now we're just focusing on ourselves.
20:54We don't check the mail.
20:55We know nothing.
20:56Well, not checking your emails can be a big problem on the block.
21:00So when we had our consult with Flooring Extra,
21:04we wanted the floorboards to go through from the hallway into the master
21:08and then have carpet through the walk-in robe.
21:10But we did get a confirmation email just saying
21:13what the understanding was of the flooring through the house,
21:17and I just missed it.
21:19Yeah, do you want me to resend you that email
21:21where I'd send a summary of what you've hit?
21:24No, it's all good.
21:26All right.
21:27Thanks, Ricky.
21:28No worries.
21:29Have a good day.
21:31Yo.
21:32Did you know that there's carpet going in the master in the main bedroom?
21:36We thought we had boards the whole way through.
21:38It's definitely mentioned in the email.
21:40It says carpets have been installed in master and walk-in,
21:43bedroom one, two, and upstairs bed.
21:45I don't like that.
21:46Nah, it's pretty ****, eh?
21:48Too late to change it?
21:49I don't know.
21:53I can't take the call right now.
21:55If you leave a name, number and brief message,
21:57I'll return the call shortly.
21:59Like Maddie and Charlotte in house one,
22:02Ricky and Hayden are now changing a major aspect of their room
22:06with less than 45 hours till room reveal.
22:12Earlier today, Maddie revealed some communication problems
22:15with their builder, Zach.
22:17I'm scared to talk to the carpenter.
22:19He's going to bite my head off.
22:20How do you run your carpenter's backhoe?
22:21We have a relationship.
22:22Like, he's, yeah, not intimidating.
22:25We'll talk to Zach on the way out the door.
22:26Yeah.
22:27Hey, Zach, listen.
22:29The girls are slightly intimidated by you guys.
22:32They're a bit nervous about asking you to do, like, a change
22:36or anything like that, and so just work with them, okay?
22:39Why are they nervous?
22:40They won't change it.
22:41It's fine.
22:42Tell me what you want and I'll do it.
22:43Yeah, great, great, great, great.
22:44I don't know what the problem is.
22:45No, there's no problem.
22:46But clearly there is a problem.
22:50Yes.
23:03Yeah, we just didn't want to, like,
23:04we obviously know that it screws you over and, oh,
23:06like, the carpenters are not going to be thrilled about that.
23:08Look, I don't give a **** what yous want to do.
23:10Yous can do anything, right?
23:11Yeah.
23:12Just talk to me and I'll tell you if we can achieve it
23:14or if we can't.
23:15Yeah, I appreciate that.
23:16I don't care what yous want to do.
23:17Just don't **** me on TV, all right?
23:19We said you were good builders and stuff.
23:21No, your work is, like, we cannot fault it.
23:24The difference is, between us and everyone else here,
23:26is we **** live here and we work here.
23:28No, we...
23:29If we get a **** hand on TV here, my work's **** gone.
23:32It's very hard to run a work site
23:34and to have authority when you feel out of your depth.
23:37Obviously being new and overwhelmed
23:39and confused about the whole situation,
23:41and you're trying not to piss people off
23:43because you need them.
23:49Which contestants do you think
23:51are creating a winning room this week?
23:53To cast your vote, all you have to do
23:55is head to the Block website now.
23:57And while you're there,
23:58don't forget to check out all of our amazing room galleries.
24:12Whoa, hello.
24:13Hello.
24:14Whoa, hello.
24:15Yeah.
24:16Love that.
24:17Oh, you do?
24:18Yes.
24:19I'm glad to hear it.
24:20Carly and Brad's Japanese charred timber feature wall
24:22is a showstopper, but not the only one.
24:25There's gilded wallpaper on the ceiling,
24:27which continues through into the open-shelled walk-in rug.
24:33Now, do you approve of the new contestants?
24:35Yes, we've met the new contestants.
24:36What about if they win? Are you going to stay or leave?
24:39No, I'll stay.
24:40Oh!
24:41I just was a bit threatened by Roddy and Georgia,
24:43and they come in and they were like,
24:44we're taking over, and I was like, hold on.
24:46What's going on?
24:47I'm not happy.
24:48You're not happy about what? It's a competition.
24:50Did they say that?
24:51Yeah.
24:52Did they say that?
24:53Yes.
24:54Oh, my goodness.
24:55So I was a bit like, ooh.
24:56I think she was still a bit emotional after the whole thing.
24:59Yeah, it was a big, big couple of days.
25:01It was a really hard week, there's no doubt on everybody,
25:04cos Jessie and Paige were loved,
25:06and you're a really tight-knit bunch.
25:08Yeah.
25:09It's the Block, you've got to take those things
25:11and move forward.
25:12Yeah.
25:13Not move forward to the airport.
25:15Yeah.
25:16Like you threatened to, go cranky at me on the phone.
25:19Just trying to talk you in.
25:21Can I say, I just walked past last week's room,
25:23which is gorgeous.
25:24Yes.
25:26Where was the penguin?
25:28The winner of week four on the Block is, by half a point,
25:33it's Christian and Mimi.
25:35Last week, Carly and Brad would have won
25:38if only they'd played their one-point penguin.
25:42Yeah, look, I didn't want to use the penguin.
25:44Not yet.
25:45We'll save it.
25:46A win's a win's a win.
25:47Ten grand, ten grand, ten grand.
25:49No, I know, but it was like we were equal third at the time,
25:52and I didn't personally think we would have made it
25:55even using the penguin.
25:56Because you know if you play it, it gets the penguins back in play.
25:59Yes.
26:00So then you just win it back.
26:01I don't want to give it to someone else yet.
26:03Well, it won't be happening again.
26:04If there's another shot at it,
26:05it's going whether she likes it or not.
26:07There you go.
26:08And you know what's going to happen, Brad will play it
26:10and we'll lose still by half a point.
26:12Then I'll be up in s***.
26:14I want a true win.
26:15I just want a win like Mimi and Christian
26:17where I don't have to use my penguin yet.
26:20We'll be playing the penguin if we get close enough.
26:29As this week's main bedrooms are slowly taking shape,
26:32deliveries are coming thick and fast.
26:35My bed's here!
26:37From Japandi Estate.
26:39Thanks, Step and John.
26:42Don't drop it.
26:43Oh, yeah, lovely.
26:44That's not ours.
26:45It's the world's biggest bed.
26:47Wouldn't want to drop it.
26:50None of this is ours.
26:52Well, this one is
26:54because Maddie and Charlotte's last-minute order of Hardy Groove
26:57from Mitre 10 will become a feature wall
27:00in their redesigned coastal luxe room.
27:03Wow, Barry, you are a legend and a lifesaver.
27:06Got it?
27:07Yeah.
27:09It's heavy, hey?
27:15In House 5, Christian and Mimi will be very happy
27:18with their very special delivery,
27:20the Hayflue wardrobe upgrade.
27:23Part of their prize package for last week's second bedroom win,
27:26along with a vintage Gucci dress and earrings,
27:29which will no doubt take pride of place in their walk-in robe
27:33that opens onto the main bedroom.
27:37Well, excuse me.
27:39Who had this sitting on their doorstep?
27:42This is, of course, last week's win.
27:45What's in the box?
27:46I've got a few little goodies.
27:48It's very groovy stuff.
27:50This is my favourite thing.
27:52It is!
27:53Leather coat hangers, I love them.
27:55$300.
27:56$300 for a coat hanger?
27:58Yes.
27:59And how many have you got, do you know?
28:00A few.
28:01Well, you actually only need one for the fabulous Gucci outfit,
28:04don't you?
28:05I don't have anything to hang on a thing worth $300.
28:08You've got your $50 shirt on your $300 coat hanger.
28:12Yeah.
28:13These wardrobes, the kinsmen, look outstanding.
28:16How stunning.
28:17And I love this space.
28:19It's attached and it's open and it's big.
28:21Yeah.
28:22To open up the space, I find it very luxurious.
28:26The bedroom will feature a porter timber wall,
28:28a wave-inspired bed head
28:30and a palette of yellow, ochre and cream.
28:33I've got a new name for Mimi.
28:35Million Dollar Mimi.
28:37Because she's spending like a millionaire.
28:39Your budget's alright because you're winning plenty of money, right?
28:42But wow, can you spend.
28:44Is she like this at home?
28:46Yes.
28:47There's a new box every single day getting delivered.
28:50But I'm actually doing really well on the blog.
28:52Really well?
28:53I'm decisive and I know exactly what I want.
28:54I'm not buying it just for the sake of it.
28:55And I've been, like, on budget.
28:57I'm taking one of the new girls shopping later
29:00just to show them where to go and what's around.
29:03Would you like to come?
29:04Yeah.
29:05Okay, cool.
29:06Sounds good.
29:07Fair enough.
29:08Well, I'm taking everyone out.
29:09Hey, have a great time.
29:10And the transport that you're going in.
29:14Do I get to take your car?
29:15No.
29:16It's better than that.
29:17Is it?
29:18Is it a helicopter?
29:19No.
29:20It's better than that.
29:21I'll see you later.
29:22Sounds good.
29:24Congratulations.
29:25They're beautiful.
29:27See you guys.
29:29Today, one member from each team has volunteered
29:31to go shopping with Shelly.
29:33However, Grumpy has no such say in the matter.
29:36I'm making him go due to his lack of attendance
29:39at yesterday's challenge.
29:40I was thinking, okay, maybe we're all just going to go
29:42in a little mini van and we'll just hang out.
29:44But no.
29:47The block doesn't do things in half.
29:50Awesome.
29:55Shelly and Jack from Freedom rolled out.
29:58Welcome aboard.
29:59The Lux Coach, otherwise known as Shelly's Party Bus.
30:04It's literally a bar on wheels.
30:20Well, I guess it's always five o'clock somewhere.
30:24So how does an hour of freedom with freedom sound?
30:28Sounds great.
30:29Sounds good?
30:30Shop like demon.
30:31But then I am going to chuck in a little mini challenge
30:33with 5,000 cash for grabs.
30:36Is it worth the ride now?
30:37It is worth it.
30:39I thought we were just going on a local trip.
30:41No, it was to Frankston.
30:43Freedom.
30:44An hour and a half away.
30:45What's the challenge?
30:46You'll find out when you get there, guys.
30:48I thought we were there and back in an hour.
30:50An hour and a half drive there.
30:51An hour and a half drive back.
30:54Probably two hours in store.
30:55We're not going to be back till 8 o'clock.
30:57Really made the wrong decision.
31:04Everyone's like, oh yeah, we're going to do a challenge.
31:06I'm like, this is fun, but I actually have to shop tonight.
31:08Look, it's empty.
31:10This might be the last time I get to shop this week.
31:13An old fabulous.
31:16Now, as I mentioned on the bus,
31:18you will have an hour of freedom with freedom
31:21to shop for whatever you need for your homes whilst we're here.
31:24But first, let's win some money, hey?
31:27Yes.
31:28All right, there's $5,000 on the line.
31:30What are we going to do, Jack?
31:32I think we might sell some beds.
31:34Why not?
31:35That's a great idea.
31:38I don't even think you've made a bed in your life.
31:46Oh, oh, this energy.
31:48One half of our couples are at freedom
31:50to compete in a bed styling challenge.
31:53Not really Grumpy's area of expertise.
31:57Are you ready, set, go for $5,000?
31:59Woo!
32:03Oh, ah, hold on.
32:05No, no, no.
32:06What size are we doing?
32:07Queen or king?
32:09Queen?
32:10We were made to style a bed in the space of 10 minutes.
32:13Get out of my way.
32:14Is it queen?
32:15Did you say queen, yeah?
32:16Sorry, five minutes to find all your linen
32:18and you have five minutes to style the bed itself.
32:21I don't know what I'm getting here.
32:24It was a mad rush and I got the wrong one.
32:26I got a queen instead of a king
32:27and I'm throwing stuff everywhere.
32:29You're just doing that colour.
32:30I'm not going to do that colour.
32:32Kylie's putting on the fitted sheet.
32:34Nice work, Kylie.
32:35Moving fast.
32:36I have children.
32:37This is it.
32:38You make the beds like this every day, don't you?
32:40Yeah.
32:43You all good?
32:44Hey, olive for the two feature pillows, yeah?
32:47If you're going to have olive as a coverlet
32:49and then you've got terracotta underneath.
32:51Yep.
32:52Olive euro cushion.
32:53Olive euro, yeah?
32:54He asked me, he goes, what's a European pillow?
32:57Is it the one at the front?
32:58I don't know.
32:59God, honey.
33:00And what about feature cushions?
33:02What are you doing crawling?
33:04He can't be getting help.
33:05No, you can't be getting help.
33:06Go on, give me your phone.
33:07Oh, OK, apparently I can't talk to you.
33:09Bye.
33:10Hang up.
33:11All right, bye.
33:12I didn't know I couldn't get help.
33:13Again, the rules aren't clear like yesterday.
33:15The rules are pretty straightforward,
33:16I would have thought.
33:17No cheating.
33:18Guys, am I cheating?
33:19I don't feel like I am.
33:22Three minutes to go.
33:24Oh, no.
33:25No, we need more time.
33:27$5,000.
33:29Teams, I give you permission to take off
33:31any of the cushions on any bed spread, anything you see.
33:37Oh, here he goes.
33:38He's taking the fitted sheet.
33:40That's it.
33:42What?
33:45No.
33:46Oh, I had it the wrong way.
33:48I'm getting stuck.
33:50We can steal from any bed, can't we?
33:52No one knows that that's there.
33:54Oh, no, don't you dare.
33:56Oh, wait, wait, wait.
33:57Sorry, I genuinely thought that was me.
33:59Grant, here's some pillows.
34:00Grant, here you go.
34:02Here's some pillows.
34:0330 seconds.
34:0710 seconds.
34:09I'm puffing.
34:10I'm puffing.
34:113, 2, 1.
34:14Yeah.
34:16Two down.
34:18Two's down.
34:19Two's down.
34:20Oh, God.
34:21I need aircon.
34:22Kylie, she is so good.
34:25I looked at her bed because she was right next to me.
34:27I'm like, how do you do this?
34:31Great efforts also from Maddie, Hayden, and Mimi.
34:34But Grumpy's not so thrilled with his creation.
34:37Everything was just flopping on it.
34:39Oh, that's sad.
34:41It was a sad-looking bed.
34:44Well, that was fun.
34:45That was.
34:46That was fun.
34:47Thank you for playing the game.
34:49The winner of the bedroom styling challenge is...
34:56Kylie.
34:57Yay!
35:00Congratulations, Kylie.
35:02Five grand worth the party bus ride.
35:04Wow.
35:05100%.
35:06I think it was the speed that got me the win.
35:09I have to do it quick at home because you've got to make it
35:11before the kids want to destroy it.
35:13Thank you again for playing.
35:14You now have an hour of freedom.
35:16Yeah.
35:17With freedom.
35:18Yay.
35:19So shop your little hearts out.
35:26Definitely need a rug.
35:27I want it to be soft.
35:28I needed to buy linen, cushions, all the styling bits involved.
35:32I had the biggest pile of stuff there.
35:34All the little girls are like, oh, my goodness.
35:36But, yeah, it's been fun.
35:40Hey, we've got an hour to shop at Freedom.
35:42Is there anything you want?
35:43You want an hour to shop in Freedom?
35:45Yeah.
35:46Come back.
35:47I'm trying to come back.
35:48We're not allowed to come back.
35:49It's not my choice.
35:50This part, definitely a punishment.
35:51Without a doubt, this is not me.
35:56Back at the block,
35:57Maddie and Charlotte's walls are only partially base-coated.
36:00That's because the plastering team they're sharing
36:03is over at Christian's place.
36:05And so I somewhat understand the plasterer's situation
36:07because he's trying to please two parties.
36:10But in reality,
36:11he actually has a far better relationship with House 5
36:14because he knows them.
36:16Christian also needs to get his room done
36:18and he has probably more leverage.
36:20Is it going to fit?
36:21Up on the vertical.
36:23With Christian's room pretty much done,
36:25he's got the plasterers helping with his 40 winks delivery.
36:32Over at House 2, there's plasterers galore
36:35and they're just sitting around.
36:37We've got herringbone flooring going in our main,
36:40which is just super tedious, very time-consuming.
36:43They basically had to start with the herringbone floor
36:45to go right down the centre
36:46and then basically work their way out,
36:48but no trades would come in then.
36:49We had six plasterers just basically on standby.
36:52Now, look, I was just next door.
36:54Yeah?
36:55And there's about six plasterers
36:57that are sitting down with nothing to do for an hour,
36:59hour and a half.
37:00I said maybe I should go and talk to them again.
37:02I reckon.
37:03Lead your case.
37:04Okay.
37:07We're going to get them.
37:08You boys look so bored.
37:10Ah.
37:11Would you like something to do?
37:13Would you think of maybe coming over for a little bit
37:15to give us a hand, please?
37:17We're so behind already
37:18and we're just fanging to get back in there
37:20to keep going so we can get it finished.
37:22Are you just waiting for it to dry?
37:23No, we're waiting.
37:24The floras have kicked us out, so...
37:26But even if it's like half an hour, any minute,
37:29will be so helpful to us.
37:31I'd rather be moving than sitting here.
37:33So I was like, perfect.
37:34Even if you come for 15 minutes, half an hour,
37:36we were just desperate.
37:39You are the heroes of the day.
37:41Welcome to our humble abode.
37:45Have we got all six of you?
37:47Well, we've got nothing else to do for an hour.
37:49Oh, boys, the legends are here.
37:51Hello.
37:52They're coming to save the day.
37:53We so appreciate you, boys.
37:55Yeah.
37:57Oh, is that...
37:58Jai!
37:59Where's Sam?
38:00I went into the room for like two seconds.
38:02They all went to one,
38:03but they still had stuff to do here.
38:05Like one of the girls, like,
38:06just basically grabbed the plasterers
38:07because I was sitting around.
38:08Why are we letting other teams borrow our plasterers, Cor?
38:11Can we just get the whole team back in there?
38:12Hold on, I can find them. Hold on.
38:14Sam!
38:16Hey, Sam.
38:18I've got Grant on the phone.
38:19Yeah.
38:20Hey, Sam.
38:21Hey, mate.
38:22Look, I'm just...
38:23How much longer do the flora guys say they're going to be?
38:25Yeah, well, now...
38:26Yeah, well, now we've walked over to the next door
38:28because we've been sitting there...
38:29Like, we've given him an hour and a half.
38:31Oh, s***.
38:32So we've kind of been poached to come.
38:35What, in house one?
38:36In house one.
38:37Mate, we need to get this f***ing room plastered.
38:39That's...
38:40No, no, s***.
38:41We need to get in there.
38:42We've got a lot to do.
38:43He's like, they are our plasterers.
38:44Like, get them back.
38:45Do you want to just call me back?
38:46I'll call you back. I'll call you back.
38:48All right.
38:49Sorry, but I'd rather finish our house first than theirs.
38:51Like...
38:52Yeah, no s***.
38:53Now the whole plastering crew
38:55is deserting Maddie and Charlotte's house.
38:57Looks like my plasterer is leaving.
38:59He's only been here for three seconds.
39:01I'm not really sure what happened.
39:03Did they leave?
39:05All the boys?
39:06Yeah.
39:07I don't know what's going on.
39:08I missed that whole thing.
39:09Oh, so did I.
39:10Absolute disaster.
39:11I need plasterers.
39:13Plasterers are in high demand on the block today.
39:15Courtney had to retrieve her plastering team
39:18from neighbouring House 1.
39:20The whole team went to Charlotte's.
39:24And I was like, look, there was still stuff for us to do.
39:27So I went in there.
39:28I was like, look, guys.
39:29What else is there left to do?
39:30I don't know.
39:31I don't know.
39:32I don't know.
39:33I don't know.
39:34I don't know.
39:35I don't know.
39:36I don't know.
39:37I don't know.
39:38I don't know.
39:39I don't know.
39:40I don't know.
39:41What else is there left to do?
39:42A lot.
39:43We need to get in there.
39:44Like, not how it works.
39:47Get your own plasterers.
39:48It's, you know, it's still a competition at the end of the day.
39:54Meanwhile, Grant is still trapped in freedom,
39:57penance for missing yesterday's challenge.
40:00Can you just let me know what happens?
40:04How much do you want to get back to the block?
40:06Like, I wish I could click my fingers and be there right now.
40:11House 2's plasterers may be back,
40:13but they're still delayed by the flooring team.
40:18In terms of timeline, it's really pushed us behind.
40:21The one thing they can do is install the easy jam
40:24or concealed door jam in the hallway.
40:27So if we can do our easy jam now,
40:29and then could we get into the wardrobe or not?
40:31How's Grant handling it all?
40:33Grant's always stressed.
40:35It'll be fine. We'll work it out.
40:38So what's happening in our house at the moment?
40:40Plasterers are all working and the flooring guys are still going.
40:43Flooring guys are still going. They might have to come back tomorrow.
40:46We worked out they're going to do half the room
40:48and plasterers the other half and then they'll swap.
40:51We don't finish, we don't finish.
40:54We're going to finish. We have to finish.
40:57It's 20 to 7.
40:58Half the floor is down and the plasterers can get back into the room.
41:02Art, the site shuts down at 8.
41:05I'm putting you on speaker. Sam, Grant's on the phone.
41:07Besides sanding, are we still pushing in tomorrow?
41:10Yeah, if we get kicked out at 8, we're not going to finish.
41:13We can't work after 8, so we can only get done what we can.
41:18Plasterers need to finish tonight. I can't have plasterers in here tomorrow.
41:21So he's had to negotiate when we can work.
41:24Ask for an extension.
41:25It's the only way we're going to finish this room.
41:28And the only one who can grant extra time is site manager Aiden.
41:33Is Aiden here?
41:35Not yet, he's still on his break.
41:38I'm home.
41:40Hey Aiden.
41:41Hello.
41:43Are you in a good mood?
41:44You're always in a good mood.
41:45So we're probably not going to finish our room.
41:48Well, our plasterers are still going.
41:51Is there a possibility of having an extension?
41:53Don't know.
41:54I'll have a walk around in a minute and then I'll think about it.
41:59Love your work.
42:00No worries.
42:01Alright, bye.
42:02What's happening?
42:03I don't know.
42:04I'm still waiting for Aiden to come back.
42:06But I feel like it's going to be a no.
42:14In house five, with the top coat drying, the plastering is complete.
42:19There's only an hour remaining until tools down
42:22and shed plasterers Josh and Brendan are finally back in house one,
42:26working on the base coat.
42:28But they're far from finished.
42:30When the base coat is done, they'll then need to apply the top coat.
42:34They were going to finish the job at house one, but then come to find out
42:37he was not very keen to come back Saturday to do his top coat.
42:40So it just needs a top coat?
42:41Just about, yeah.
42:42How long does a top coat take to set?
42:44We won't be done.
42:45We won't get done.
42:46No, I'm done.
42:47I'm absolutely knackered, mate.
42:49And then what, back tomorrow morning?
42:51I won't be.
42:52Will you be back?
42:53I've got a couple other jobs to get done
42:55that I've had to push back just to be here.
42:58And I was trying to, like, get it out of him and be like,
43:01is there any chance you can?
43:02Because we really need the top coat done.
43:04Otherwise we're not going to present.
43:06So will you be back tomorrow then?
43:08Don't know yet.
43:09When do you think you'll find out?
43:12When I probably stop and look at my phone and make a phone call.
43:16Is there any way of pushing that job back?
43:19No, because I've already pushed it back twice to be here.
43:21It's like the last leg of the race, you know?
43:23You can't push it back one more day.
43:25No, not really.
43:28I can't really ruin my livelihood, sorry.
43:30You're going to leave me high and dry.
43:32I'm waiting for a phone call.
43:34Well, I can't come back tomorrow because it's my missus' birthday
43:36and she will kill me.
43:37Yeah.
43:38And I was like, is there any chance?
43:39Hopefully it'll only take, like, two hours kind of thing,
43:41like, quickly done.
43:43And then he was like, I'll make some phone calls, come back.
43:45OK, well, keep me updated.
43:49He went and packed up his stuff and didn't say bye.
43:53And then I saw him out at Christian's house having beers.
43:55And then so I went over there, but then he was on the phone.
43:57So I was like, oh, great, he's having his phone call that he needs to make
44:00to work out if he can come back tomorrow.
44:02But your neighbour also chose to have a beer with the plasterer
44:05who could have been finishing some work for you.
44:07He could have, but he chose not to.
44:09Yeah.
44:11And then so I went back inside, and then five minutes later,
44:13I came back out, and then security told me he left.
44:16So he didn't even say bye.
44:22Coming up.
44:24First week's tough.
44:26There's just so many different, like, moving parts.
44:28You're right.
44:30This is overwhelming. I'm fine. I'm absolutely fine.
44:32Charlotte is left hanging.
44:34I was just checking for tomorrow
44:36if you're still good to come to do the top coat.
44:50It's Friday night of main bedroom and walk-in rape week on the block,
44:53and in house two, the plasterers haven't finished.
44:56They still need to apply the top coat to get the job done,
44:59so site manager Aidan has arrived to address Courtney's request
45:03for an extension to working hours.
45:05Hello.
45:07How did you go?
45:09Well, I've had a bit of a think and all that around.
45:11Yeah.
45:13I think we should say we'll do another hour.
45:15OK. Yeah? That's amazing. Thank you.
45:17So nine. Let's go nine.
45:19Thank you. How do we feel about nine, guys?
45:22Yeah?
45:24Is that enough?
45:26We'll take what we can get.
45:28Someone who doesn't need a one-hour extension
45:31is Christian in house five.
45:33Yeah, room's good.
45:35I've just got the final coat of the plaster drying now,
45:38the top coat drying now, so...
45:41Um...
45:43Yeah, hopefully tomorrow morning we'll wake up and it will all be dry
45:46and we can start sanding and painting and...
45:52I was going around to all the other houses,
45:54trying to see if they were done so we could use their plasterers.
45:57Hey, Sam.
45:59Do you want to do me another favour?
46:01Tomorrow?
46:03Whoa, that looks so good up there.
46:05Thank you. That looks so good. This is all Sam.
46:07I don't know if we're going to...
46:09I'm going to Adelaide tomorrow.
46:11Anyone else in your team?
46:13It's just top coat. Top coating.
46:15Um...
46:17Well, we've got that much to do in here.
46:19Charlotte was pretty upset.
46:21Um, they couldn't find a plasterer.
46:23First week's tough.
46:25There's just so many different, like, moving parts.
46:27You all right?
46:29It's just overwhelming. I'm fine. I'm actually fine.
46:33Yeah.
46:35With the trip back from shopping
46:37a little less glamorous than the ride there,
46:39it is a cramped return journey
46:41for half of our contestants in the Freedom Van.
46:44Art Carly is happy to celebrate her bed-styling win.
46:48Baby!
46:50Winner, winner.
46:52Winner, winner!
46:54$5,000.
46:56Where are the other people's beds?
46:58I don't know. I didn't take a photo of theirs.
47:00It's not important. Just the winner.
47:02Just the winner? Yeah.
47:04No-one did three layers, did they?
47:06No.
47:08No, you won that.
47:10And three... Technically four pillow layers.
47:12No, you killed it.
47:14In house three, Ricky and Hayden's plastering is done.
47:18They are preparing for a night of spray-painting
47:20and bracing for a big day tomorrow,
47:24thanks to a last-minute change to their flooring.
47:26Hats off to Flooring Extra.
47:28Even though I called them at 2.20 today,
47:30they managed to make a call
47:32and tomorrow we get our floorboards installed.
47:34So it's a six-hour process.
47:36On the last day,
47:38So it's a six-hour process.
47:40On the last day before handover.
47:42So...
47:44Yeah.
47:46Tomorrow's going to be wild.
47:48But the finish line is nowhere in sight
47:50for Maddie and Charlotte.
47:52With only their base coat done,
47:54they still have a top coat to do
47:56before their plastering is complete.
47:58At, like, 10pm,
48:00I rang the plasterer and was like,
48:02so, what's the go? Are you coming back tomorrow?
48:04Hello?
48:06I'm from the block, house one.
48:08How are you going?
48:10Good. I was just wondering,
48:12I was just trying to catch you guys before you left today
48:14and when I came out,
48:16I couldn't catch... I didn't see you there.
48:18I was just checking for tomorrow
48:20if you're still good to come
48:22to do the top coat.
48:24No, unfortunately not.
48:26No chance at all?
48:28Yeah, I've called all my contacts and everything
48:30and unfortunately I can't do it.
48:32I've already been in contact with Zach and let him know.
48:34OK, cos Zach hasn't let us know yet.
48:36Oh, hasn't he?
48:38I've probably told him, like, an hour ago.
48:40OK. I've called heaps of people
48:42and everything and unfortunately I can't.
48:44There's no chance of trying to...
48:46Is there anything that we can do to bribe you?
48:48Cos we just need to...
48:50Like, we won't be able to finish the room.
48:52Sorry I couldn't be there but, yeah,
48:54unfortunately I've got stuff I need to do.
48:56Do you know anyone else?
48:58No.
49:00OK.
49:02Yeah.
49:04OK.
49:06OK, thanks for that.
49:10That's fabulous.
49:12Sunday night.
49:14It's going all over my walls.
49:16Mmm.
49:18You look horrified.
49:20I'm not a judge, so it doesn't matter.
49:22It's the biggest week so far on the block.
49:24Race is to conclusion.
49:26If we can get this done,
49:28the boys are a red-hot chance for a win.
49:30Maddie and Charlotte's plaster disaster
49:32gets worse.
49:34The girls want to know if you're keen to help them out later.
49:36It's if they calm down.
49:38Even if I, like, pay them extra?
49:40Oh.
49:42We're literally screwed.
49:44And our blockheads
49:46go to any lengths to push to the finish.
49:48Please put some clothes back on.
49:50I'm going to have to put on the floor.
49:52I don't care, just do something.
49:54I'm doing everything at the moment.
49:56OK.
49:58Then judging time brings some astonishment.
50:00Talk about personality.
50:02This is the most marketable room
50:04so far on the block.
50:06This takes my breath away.
50:08And some big shocks.
50:10Look at the pillows.
50:12They're just shoved there.
50:14I wish that I could give them a good score.
50:16Before I go back here, Brad and Kylie,
50:18you've got a penguin bonus point.
50:20What do you want to do?
