00:00The siphoning of the sunken tanker MTKR Terranova has been extended until September 13 to make

00:06sure all eight cargo oil tanks are empty of oily waste, according to the Philippine Coast Guard

00:11or PCG. Before this extension, the PCG had given the contractor Harbor Star Shipping Services

00:18Incorporated two weeks to remove the remaining 1.4 million liters of industrial fuel oil from

00:24the capsized motor tanker. The siphoning began on August 19 and by September 10,

00:30they had removed more than 1.3 million liters of oily waste. Lieutenant Commander Michael John,

00:36Commander of Coast Guard Station Bataan, stressed the PCG will not declare the siphoning operation

00:43complete until all oily waste has been removed from the tanker's tanks, pipelines, and compartments.
