00:18that her pet Aspen is not allowed to enter a pet-friendly restaurant.

01:04Why do you have to know my dog's breed?

01:08I already had a feeling that it's going to be about the breed, isn't it?

01:14It's going to end up because she's an Aspen,

01:16we won't let her in.

01:17Or because she's an Aspen, they don't want her.

01:19Lara criticized the restaurant's pet policy.

01:22She was shown pictures of dog customers

01:25that were posted on the restaurant's social media page.

01:32I knew it was about Yoda.

01:35I knew it was about her breed.

01:36Don't say you're pet-friendly when you're not.

01:39Because what about people like me who travel from Manila?

01:43What about those who had spent their entire day

01:46planning a day to go to Balay Dako,

01:49thinking that they can bring their pets,

01:50and then they get there and they're turned away.

01:52I got to the car and I started crying.

01:54The Potion Project is a witness of an animal welfare group

01:58and rescue shelter that is a calm and kind Aspen, Yoda.

02:03We really felt off because they asked what breed.

02:08That was really what hurt me as someone who's been very passionate

02:12about elevating the status of the Aspens.

02:16And according to Malu Perez,

02:18it's sad to accept that Aspens are discriminated against.

02:22I'd bring rescues to the vet.

02:24Even if it's an emergency,

02:25they won't accommodate you first.

02:28And then you'd see other dogs with breeds.

02:31It's just a check-up.

02:32It doesn't become a law.

02:33They're okay.

02:35But why would they go first?

02:36Because they think,

02:37these people have more capacity to pay

02:39because these dogs are with breeds.

02:42So, you know, this is discrimination.

02:45It doesn't really just happen in restaurants.

03:15But netizens noticed that the picture of a big dog was removed

03:19from their social media posts.

03:21According to Lara and Malu,

03:23the incident could have been a lesson.

03:26People should have empathy.

03:28Because that's where it started.

03:30Once you grow that empathy on these animals,

03:34you know, that's where the actions start.

03:37Everyone who has been sharing and talking and defending Yoda,

03:41really, thank you so much.

03:42But I do hope that this opens everyone's eyes to, you know,

03:45what Aspens are really like,

03:46and might even make them want to consider either fostering,

03:49sheltering, sponsoring, or just visiting shelters,

03:54spending time with these dogs.
