00:00Cassandra Lee Ong and more than 50 others are facing a new complaint
00:05because of their involvement in the Pogo Hub, Lucky South 99, and Whirlwind Corporation in Porac, Pampanga.
00:12Luisa Eris Peza reports.
00:17Cassandra Lee Ong is no longer involved in her involvement in the Pogo Company, Lucky South 99, and Whirlwind Corporation in Porac, Pampanga
00:26because of the new complaint filed by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission and PNP-CIDG in the Department of Justice.
00:34She is the one being accused of being the owner and the incorporator of the alleged companies.
00:40She is one of the incorporators and the owner of Whirlwind Corporation.
00:45And aside from that, there is evidence that she ran Lucky South 99.
00:52The complaint she will face is Qualified Human Trafficking in Person and 53 others.
00:59According to the DOJ, aside from Ong, Whirlwind and Lucky South 99 are running the company
01:06based on a complaint that they believe that the two companies are one.
01:11According to them, Lucky South 99 and Whirlwind Corporation are one.
01:17There is a saying, grand implied conspiracy.
01:21And aside from that, they did something that is often done in the corporation law, piercing the veil of corporate fiction.
01:28This is very important because we should not allow the criminals to use the corporation law, the layering, to do what the criminals do.
01:40The number of witnesses in the complaint is 10 Chinese and 4 Filipinos working in Lucky South
01:47who experienced abuse in the company.
01:50But Paok believes that Lucky South has a deeper problem
01:54because the company was involved in a series of cases of human trafficking.
02:00We have been saying for a long time that Lucky South 99 is notorious within the POGO communities
02:07because they are the biggest pickers of people.
02:11They buy people from the casinos.
02:15There is a group, a Chinese group of kidnappers.
02:22There are loan sharks in the casinos in Metro Manila.
02:26They are looking for the vulnerable to borrow money.
02:30Then they sell the money to the POGO.
02:34Aside from Cassandra Lee Ong and her associates,
02:38one of the complainants is a Singaporean national named Zhang Ji, who used to be the owner of Lucky South.
02:45Zhang Ji also believes that he helped Alice Guo in Singapore and Indonesia.
02:50That's why it's possible that Lucky South has a connection with the former Bamban Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo,
02:55who is still being investigated.
02:58Meanwhile, in a complaint filed by the Commission on Elections against Alice Guo for a misrepresentation complaint,
03:06Comelec gave a new extension to Guo's company to file their counter-affidavit until Wednesday, September 12.
03:14Luisa Erispe for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
