00:00Some senators are not convinced that there is no Filipino help to get Alice Wu out of the Philippines.

00:06Yesterday, they asked the Philippine Coast Guard why Wu's car was not intercepted when they ran away.

00:24Because Alice Wu still does not want to explain how and who helped her get out of the country this July in the middle of the pandemic.

01:17So I asked her, if you told her that you're not going to pray, why did she ask you to flee?

01:24Why did she ask you to borrow money?

01:27So my conclusion to that is, maybe that's why Alice Wu was asked to leave the country.

01:34Maybe she was singing this song to facilitate her escape.

01:41Senators believe that there is a Filipino involvement in Alice Wu's departure from the country.

01:45That's why the Coast Guard was asked at the hearing of the transportation budget,

01:48why the yacht that was hijacked was not intercepted.

01:52In our existing memorandum circular on pre-departure inspection,

01:57vessels which are non-common carrier, we are now revising the circular, Your Honor,

02:04so the Coast Guard will have a role in the enforcement in this kind of vessels, Your Honor.

02:10You could have done that even before.

02:13Why do we need an Alice Wu incident before we can anticipate such a scenario and then cover it?

02:22The regulation was made in 2009 and I'm taking my role now to revise it, Your Honor.

02:30The hearing will continue on September 17, when the Tarlac Court also allowed Alice Wu to escape.
