00:00It's up to the experts to find the use of artificial intelligence in cybercrime.
00:05Personal data obtained from hacked websites can also be sold worldwide.
00:11Dano Tingcunco has the first news.
00:17There are many ways now for cybercriminals to get their way,
00:21especially in the middle of artificial intelligence or AI and the advancement of new software.
00:26One of them is deepfake and deepnude, which are often hacked and easily done using AI.
00:31According to experts, it can be used to deceive even banks and financial websites.
00:56It used to be the case that it was more made by hand.
00:59An artist would create a deepfake with Photoshop.
01:02Now we have deepfake automated programs.
01:06Personal data is also sold worldwide, especially on hacked websites.
01:11If you're a criminal nowadays, the community is such that it's very well built
01:16and it's very easy to make money online.
01:19So there's a lot of possibilities.
01:21Now it's up to the criminal to hook up with other criminals
01:25and get either the pieces to create an attack
01:30or once you have a successful attack and you got a lot of data,
01:34to monetize that data, to sell that data and make money off of it.
01:38So pretty quick, pretty easy, very worrying for all of us.
01:43In ransomware, cybercriminals must now target big companies
01:48where the payoff is higher.
01:50This is also happening to government agencies in different countries around the world.
01:54What we're seeing, at least in the ransomware part,
01:57is that they are going more for the bigger, juicier targets.
02:01So they're affecting fewer people,
02:05but those who are affected, they're getting higher ransoms.
02:09It's more payout for the bad guys.
02:11So instead of targeting small little company, they go for the big bank.
02:15The problem for the defenders is that
02:19public budgets are not as high as a private budget.
02:25So a bank would spend a lot more money on security than a ministry would normally.
02:31So that's concerning.
02:33We are still trying to get hold of the DICT.
02:36This is the first news.
