00:00for one great college baseball pitcher that was supposed to
00:06revolutionize Major League Baseball. Kumar Rocker gets his
00:10call up today. He will start and make his MLB debut for the
00:14Rangers. Craig, it's been a wild story for Rocker since he left
00:19Vanderbilt. Can you detail the story a little bit for some
00:22that do not know and what your expectation is for him today in
00:25Arlington? Yeah, I mean, it's pretty it's it's pretty simple
00:29when you when you get drafted, you don't have to sign with the
00:32team they get drafted with in baseball. You know, simply put
00:35Rocker, you know, was drafted by the Mets. The Mets felt like he
00:38was injured after they signed him and you know, no one really
00:42knows specifically if the Mets went back on the deal or
00:44Rocker's camp wasn't happy with the deal. But essentially, you
00:47know, he left, he came back, then the Rangers ended up
00:50taking him and now they're hoping that Rocker and Jack
00:53Leiter are fronting that rotation for many years to come.
00:56Ben, it remains to be seen. It's very hard to tell at this
00:58point. You know, Rocker comes with a lot of fanfare. He's
01:01supposed to be very good, but really how many guys come up
01:04like Paul Schemes? Very few. So I would temper my expectations
01:07at least initially for him, but it is cool to see the Rangers.
01:10They're really not back in the race, so to speak, but they're
01:12kind of like hanging around. Any team that wins five, six
01:15games in a row right now can put themselves back in it. We'll
01:17see if the Rangers get Rocker and Scherzer and the Grom and
01:20all these guys back for the end.
