00:00And YB Teresa has given full cooperation to the police in this investigation.

00:10And we have been informed that this investigation is a continuation of police reports that have been made

00:18related to the statement that has been issued by YB Teresa Kok.

00:23Which we know that this statement is related to the issue of a prohibition to obligate the registration of Halal documents

00:33which is now a hot topic by many people.

00:38My original statement on September 6th was actually a response to the statement of the minister

00:46at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Naim Mokhtar

00:51that obligates restaurants that do not sell pork and alcohol to register Halal documents.

01:00My statement was a response to the suggestion to obligate to register Halal documents.

01:10I also want to emphasize that I have never opposed Halal documents

01:18and since I have been in the government of Selangor, I have been promoting investment to Malaysia and Selangor.

01:27I have always promoted the registration of Halal documents in Malaysia.

01:32Because what I have said to investors is that the registration of Halal documents in Malaysia is the highest standard in the world.

01:43So if they want to import goods or want to register Halal documents to sell to other Muslim countries,

01:54they have to come to Malaysia and register Halal documents.

01:59After that, they can export their products to other countries in the Middle East.

02:06This is actually my position as a member of parliament, as a former member of the Selangor Executive Council and as a cabinet minister.

02:17For me, I have a responsibility to voice the problems and concerns of the people.

02:28And that is why I ask the government to re-examine the suggestion that Tatoe Mahamad made.

02:36This is my statement. I do not question the Halal documents, legal rights or disrespect the religion of Islam.

02:49The DAP party has made a clear statement that YB Teresakof is not at fault.

02:57He is only doing his job as a member of parliament to express his views and concerns raised by various parties during the election.

03:13We will turn to the police to investigate.

03:17And we hope that all parties will handle this matter calmly and professionally.
