00:00The Department of the Interior and the local government wants to make sure that whoever
00:05is involved with the Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is held accountable.
00:08Quiboloy's camp will ask the court to transfer Quiboloy to the custody of the Armed Forces of the Philippines,
00:15which is the duty of the Department of National Defense.
00:19Here is my first news.
00:22We are not the breakers.
00:26On August 24, when the police entered the compound of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ,
00:31or KOJC, in Davao City,
00:34their mission was to arrest KOJC founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and other accused.
00:40Quiboloy was handed over to the authorities and was taken to Camp Krame.
00:45According to the PNP, he is the one wearing a cap with an eagle mark
00:49from his face to his body.
00:51The faces of the accused and KOJC members,
00:55Jacqueline Roy, Ingrid Canada, Crisente Canada, and Silvia Semanes, are also covered.
01:01Before this,
01:02Do you have the right to remain silent?
01:05they were charged with Miranda Rights and were put under a booking procedure.
01:09Those who were caught in this process were learned by the PNP before being distributed to the media.
01:15They became mugshots.
01:17They are now in prison at the PNP Custodial Center.
01:20What Quiboloy's camp is trying to do is to surrender and not arrest the pastor.
01:25An arrest is only made when there is an actual restraint of the person to be arrested.
01:29In this case, there was no actual restraint.
01:31He decided to make the ultimate sacrifice of surrendering
01:36so that the sufferings of his members would end.
01:40But President Bombong Marcos and the Interior Department are trying to corner them.
01:46That's why he was forced to surrender.
01:47He won't be released if we don't catch him.
01:52He was forced to go out because the police is already close to him.
01:57Our police and my instructions to them were decided.
02:01This is the last time.
02:02I told them, when we go in, don't leave until you get A.
02:07And that's exactly what they did.
02:09For me, it makes no difference if you surrender.
02:13Because that's it.
02:14Practically, he was cornered.
02:16According to the DILG Secretary,
02:18the information is currently being spread outside the KOJC compound.
02:22Quiboloy surrendered.
02:23It's like a cartoon.
02:25Do you know why?
02:27If you're already outside, then run away.
02:30He's been saying that for a long time.
02:32He won't be arrested, right?
02:34The DILG wants to investigate and answer the accusations against Quiboloy.
02:40The lawyer of the pastor is ready to participate in the investigation.
02:44He had to meet his leaders again.
02:48That is why, on September 8, there was already a decision that he will surrender.
02:54And on September 8 in the morning, I was informed about it.
02:58And in front of the ISAF officers and the PNP, the decision was made.
03:05Prior to September 7, he was not in the compound.
03:08He also argued that he just found out where Quiboloy hid.
03:12He told me that he was in the mountains of Davao City.
03:16I was not able to verify from him.
03:19It happened too fast.
03:22On Friday of last week,
03:24the PNP received a tip that Quiboloy was hiding inside the ACQ College of Ministry.
03:301,000 staff and SWAT were assigned around the area
03:34to make sure that no one will be able to get out.
03:37The final assault was carried out,
03:39but there were surrender feelers, so the assault was suspended.
03:42At 10 p.m., we heard about the feelers.
03:46The National Headquarters called because the negotiations were high-level feelers.
03:52I said okay sir, I will hold until 1 p.m.
03:55My first assault was to hold until 3 p.m.
04:01Quiboloy's camp wanted to surrender and board an airplane to Manila.
04:06A C-130 plane of the Air Force arrived in Davao and went out of where Quiboloy was hiding.
04:12They were ridden by a convoy that traveled to them to ride the C-130.
04:16The President said that Quiboloy asked for the presence of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in his landing.
04:22But the AFP said that it was just for additional forces,
04:25and the PNP was still the first in the operation.
04:28I hope the AFP has a presence because they said that they don't trust the police.
04:32So fine, that's what we did.
04:35But let's be very clear, this was a police-led operation.
04:39Quiboloy was charged with human trafficking, child abuse, and sexual abuse in the Philippines.
04:45Quiboloy was also wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of America
04:49for sexual trafficking of minors, fraud, conspiracy, bulk cash smuggling, and money laundering.
04:57The arrest order of the court for Pastor Quiboloy is now in effect.
05:01The next thing he will face is in the hands of the judicature.
05:04The President assured that he will protect his rights
05:08even if there is no special treatment that will be given to him.
05:11Quiboloy was brought by his lawyer to the PNP Custodial Center.
05:15They asked the court to remove Pastor.
05:18We filed a motion for the transfer of his custody to the AFP, citing among other grounds security reasons.
05:26And we are hoping that the court would grant the same.
05:30Or at the very least, a house arrest, knowing that he is already 74 years old, he has a health condition.
05:39But the Defense Department said that the motion to transfer Quiboloy's custody to the AFP will be followed.
05:45The AFP facilities have strict operational security protocols.
05:50That's why this is not the agency that should hold the custody of suspects in criminal cases.
05:55This is the first news. Maris Umali for GMA Integrated News.
06:01Kapuso, Kapanayam, we should have Attorney Israelito Torrion, the lawyer of Pastor Apolo Quiboloy.
06:08But until now, he is not answering our calls and text messages.
