00:00I'm gonna consider this the belt line here on up it's gonna be good you got my instruction
00:05locker room protect yourself at all time listen to my command at all times touch gloves good luck
00:10both of you. So we are set to go with our opening contest of the evening as we take a look at the
00:17tail of the tape Moreno Fenderro and Carlos Oroner. You see Fenderro enjoy a reach advantage here
00:24tonight identical in terms of height very disparate in terms of amateur experience Fenderro medalist
00:32at the 2023 world amateur games and now six and oh as a professional and he's already
00:38got the pro wrestling fans excited by entering to Kurt Angle's theme music.
00:45And he also has the boxing fans excited by firing that straight left hand right down the pipe every
00:50time we see Moreno Fenderro Corey he's added a few more wrinkles to his game every time we see
00:58him there's a little more craft to go with the speed and the strength and the athletic ability
01:02that are very obvious. Yeah the first time we saw Moreno Fenderro he was mere weeks out of
01:08amateur competition so we've really been able to see him blossom into a really powerful professional
01:14style here and live up to that billing that Mark Ramsey had when he came out of the amateurs he
01:20described him as a southpaw version of Christian Mbili and they're not necessarily identical
01:26Morgan but you can see the comparison you see the comparison again because they are both
01:30physically imposing for the weight class uh strong fast athletic I mean the one difference you'll see
01:36between Mbili and Fenderro is that Fenderro has really long arms for his height Mbili doesn't
01:42necessarily Mbili uses all these angles finds ways to get inside it really goes to work he gets sort
01:47of to his office and gets to work. Fenderro can fight from a variety of ranges as opposed to a
01:52variety of angles because he has long arms and he can shrug things up and rip shots to the body as
01:58we saw a moment ago nice body work there from Fenderro as Carlos Roner looks for a home run
02:05counter left hook there a moment ago we last saw him scoring a disqualification win over Leon
02:11Gallivan in December of last year in a rematch of their 2022 bout and Morgan he's had a couple
02:18of fights on the schedule to fight outside of his native Argentina they've always fallen through
02:23so he's achieving a little bit of a dream here tonight absolutely and shout out to whoever
02:29covers boxing at El Mar Platense Mar del Plata Argentina because there's three guys from Mar del
02:34Plata on the card tonight and one thing we learned in our research is that the local press covers
02:40every fight each of these guys participates in regardless of what their record is these guys all
02:45get a lot of coverage back home so whoever covers boxing at El Mar Platense is going to be busy
02:50and their competing publication La Capital from the same city they're all covering these guys
02:56as Moreno Fenderro covering all of his bases offensively going back downstairs to the body
03:04still backing Roner up with a steady jab nice uppercut there from Fenderro
03:09yeah that lead hand uppercut
03:14really made Roner think twice about what he's doing really got Roner's attention
03:20closing moments of the opening round of our broadcast
03:24Moreno Fenderro looking good here in the early going
03:39When you go up to the head, it's still too much power.
03:42Right now, everything you're doing is fine, but when you go up, you're putting too much power into it.
03:46I want to go fast and precise, okay?
03:50We place our elbows and we take it up.
03:52Don't force it, just place your elbows.
03:57Corey, here we see Fenderro measuring with the jab and then banging hard to the body
04:04with the right and the left it's become it seems pretty clear that he is under instructions
04:09this fight to go out and concentrate on the body and it's definitely what he did in round one.
04:13Round two underway dominant start for Moreno Fenderro
04:37That's Carlos Roner fighting on the road for the first time in his career
04:41with a tough assignment here tonight against one of the new protégés
04:45of Mark Ramsey who just landed a beautiful straight left hand
04:50and Morgan more and more I think the broader boxing audience is becoming aware that
04:55if Mark Ramsey is in a fighter's corner, it means something.
04:58If you look back at Ramsey's training history, there are very few if any outright misses.
05:04You might have fighters that maybe didn't reach championship level,
05:08but they certainly weren't busts.
05:10No, and these are not people that just sort of stroll through the door.
05:12Often they're people that Ramsey has identified often at a transitional period in their career,
05:17like towards the tail end of their amateur career.
05:19One of the one of the talents and the skills that Mark Ramsey has is that he can look at
05:24a group of 10 elite amateurs and figure out which of these elite amateurs projects
05:29well to the professional game and I think Fenderro is another one who's on that trajectory.
05:36Roner landing a nice straight right hand a couple of moments ago.
05:39Roner's not a bad offensive fighter. He's a lot better when he's moving forward.
05:43His problem tonight is that Fenderro is going to force him to move back.
05:49If you watch a little Roner on video, one of his pet punches is sort of a counter uppercut.
05:56If he catches you leaning in, he caught Gavilan with that two times.
05:59That's what ended their first fight and he's going to look to catch
06:04Ronero Fenderro leading into one tonight, but I think Fenderro is a little bit too
06:08schooled to fall for that. He's been offering it a couple of times.
06:11Another right hand from Roner landed about 10-15 seconds ago,
06:15but a better left hand from Fenderro got there just seconds later.
06:26Fenderro showing that physical strength, just bumping Roner off,
06:29sending him into the corner and now another stiff jab.
06:34Another huge left hand and it's clear too that Fenderro is not all that concerned.
06:44Not that he's reckless on defense. He's not all that concerned with the offense coming back his
06:50way and it shows the way he goes about this attack coming straight in the front door again with that
06:55straight left hand. Steps in behind a heavy left hand. You do have to wonder how many of these
07:01head-snapping left hands can Fenderro land before they start to take a visible effect on Roner.
07:09My guess, Corey, is not many more.
07:15Last left hand, almost lifting the lead foot of Roner off the canvas.
07:20You saw that uppercut there from Roner. That is his punch.
07:24That is his punch and if he lands it, he's happy. If he lands it and he hurts him, he's even more
07:30happy.
07:53That was fast.
07:54Ava, repeal your coat.
07:56Some wings you just can't.
07:57Game time, wing time.
07:58That was fast.
07:59Ava, repeal your coat.
08:01Some wings you just can't.
08:02Connects right there. Measuring with that jab,
08:05just to get a sense of the distance and the timing and really driving that backhand home.
08:11Another straight left hand. Bet Roner over the top rope.
08:27Round three begins. Moreno Fenderro and Carlos Roner opening things up for us.
08:42Fenderro, last time out, we saw him score that six-round unanimous decision over
08:46Rolando Matsusha, who we'll see coming up next as he'll move up the card to take on Wilkins Mathieu.
08:53Oh, huge left hand and Roner is out. A monstrous knockout from Moreno Fenderro.
09:07That is a frightening knockout, Morgan.
09:12Yeah, and you had asked the question earlier on, Corey, how many more of these flush left
09:16hands could Roner take? And it's one thing to be tough, but there are just limits to
09:22the amount of punishment you can take. And direct blows from a guy as strong and well-schooled
09:28as Moreno Fenderro. Oh, this is a scary scene in the ring right now.
09:37At last glance, the eyes of Carlos Roner were still closed.
09:43We'll certainly monitor this before
09:45getting excited about anything that happened here, or
09:49evaluating it in earnest as we take a look back at this shot. Just absolutely titanic left hand
09:56from Fenderro. Yes, you can see his eyes roll back in his head when that shot landed.
10:04On the temple, of course.
10:16We are evaluating the situation here from ringside.
10:30Certainly some distressing scenes in the corner of Carlos Roner at the moment.
10:36And we've yet to see movement or communication from Roner.
10:40There we see his eyes opening. I mean, that is a very, very good sign.
10:51I don't know about you, Corey. I don't know about the people at home watching,
10:55but when I saw his eyes open, when I saw Roner's eyes open,
10:58the main sensation I felt was relief. Yes.
11:04See him blinking to see him responded.
11:16We've seen some frightening knockouts in this ring just over the last year or so.
11:20You think back to the Osleza-Glacier.
11:22Yeah, I think it's the Osleza-Glacier.
11:23Yeah, I think it's the Osleza-Glacier.
11:24And you'd have to put this one up there with any of them.
11:41Carlos Roner responsive and moving slightly, but...
11:46See the head still being stabilized at the moment.
11:53Moreno-Fendero understandably muted in his celebration.
11:56That's what I was going to say, Corey. You can see it on Fendero's face,
11:59because whatever you sign up for, this is a competition.
12:03You don't... You understand people good can get hurt,
12:06but you don't necessarily sign up for it.
12:08You don't necessarily sign up for it.
12:09You don't necessarily sign up for it.
12:10You don't necessarily sign up for it.
12:11You don't necessarily sign up for it.
12:13You don't necessarily sign up for it.
12:14You can get hurt, but you don't necessarily sign up to hurt people.
12:17And a one-punch knockout that definitive,
12:22even if you're the person dishing it out,
12:24has to be scary, has to be frightening, has to be terrifying.
12:38Ringside Physicians taking no chances here,
12:40stabilizing the neck of Carlos Ronere.
12:45And I believe I see oxygen coming into the ring as well,
12:52as Ronere will be hoisted out of the ring.
12:54And again, Corey, we can't speculate on exactly what is happening,
13:15but there is, again, a sense of relief
13:17to see him moving his arms and his legs on his own.
13:19Because if you watch enough football, you've seen similar scenes
13:23where someone goes down and they don't get up,
13:26and you don't know whether or not
13:27they can move their arms and their legs on their own.
13:31But if you are a medical staffer here, if you're the promoter,
13:34if you're an organizer, you have to take every precaution.
13:37You can't assume he's going to get up and walk out of the ring safely.
13:42You see Moreno-Fandero doing what I'm sure a lot of viewers
13:46are doing at home right now,
13:47biting his fingernails and watching what's happening at the moment.
13:53A seventh win of the career of Moreno-Fandero,
14:03but a distant second in terms of importance at the moment.
14:22Take a look back at the knockout here.
14:40Yeah, Corey, an absolute fastball of the left hand.
14:44It lands on the temple, which we don't often see
14:49that cleanly with that much force.
14:53And to put things into perspective,
14:56the only two men who have stopped Carlos Roner
14:58to this point coming into this fight were Gerardo Vergara,
15:04you know, a man who's about 20-0 right now, I believe,
15:06and then Francisco Varone, a pretty high-level fighter
15:10we saw last weekend in the Overtime Boxing 154-pound tournament
15:15losing to Brandon Adams.
15:17So it's taken quality fighters to stop Carlos Roner.
15:23And we are happy to see him carried out of the ring
15:27and being given medical attention.
15:30A frightening way to start our broadcast.
15:37Ladies and gentlemen, official time.
15:3930 seconds of round number three.
15:44Your winner by knockout, Moreno, the Soldier Fandero.
15:52So Moreno Fandero with the knockout win,
15:59but the thoughts, obviously, of everyone here
16:02are with Carlos Roner.
16:04And, you know, we've talked about the educated fight crowd
16:08that we have here in Quebec.
16:10They certainly knew how to respond to this, too, Morgan,
16:13a very muted kind of...
