00:00Okay lads, when I say stop, you stop boxing. When I say break, take a step back. Keep your hands up, protect yourself at all times. Good luck to you both, good luck.
00:11So here's a man with a big reputation, a man who trainer Ben Davison believes can have a brilliant career, a man who comes to the ring intending to do damage.
00:19And Richie, he's got the power to do it, you know him well.
00:23Yeah, I know him very well indeed. Obviously, I worked with him on his Olympic cycle, and not only has he got powerflex, he's a very skilful boxer actually, Luke McCormack.
00:32He can be very aggressive, and yes, he has got the power, but also he's got really good decent skills, and look at that for a left hook to the body straight away.
00:41And Teta Brodsky, the man from Czech Republic at the moment, doesn't know what's hitting. The answer is it's Luke McCormack that's hitting.
00:49And he's in there to do a job, and he wants to get it done quickly, and the body shots are breaking this man down, and he's mixing the punches to body and head superbly well in the opening 35 seconds.
01:00A flashing start here from Luke McCormack.
01:02Yeah, it all started with that good left hook downstairs from McCormack, and Brodsky certainly felt it, and he showed it as well, which is the ultimate sin really,
01:12against an opponent like McCormack, because he's just jumped on him, and now he's just planting his feet, and he's really going for power here is Luke McCormack.
01:21Got to watch it a little bit, because Brodsky's actually coming back with the odd shot here and there, but again, good shot from McCormack, that right hand.
01:28Well, Brodsky's won four of six himself, so he should bring some confidence in tonight, but McCormack is in there with bad intentions.
01:34It's only his second professional fight.
01:36He's 29.
01:37As Richie says, he's a former Olympian, lost to Andy Cruz, and a lot of people are saying great things about him, and his trainer, Ben Davison, pretty much did our work for him tonight, because he said he's tailor-made for TNT Sports, because he's so explosive, and the way that he started here tonight is every indication of that.
01:54Yeah, he is indeed, and fair play to Brodsky, because he's weathered the storm a little bit, so he seems fairly decent himself.
02:03But again, that was a superb jab from Luke McCormack, banged on the button, there was so much power in that shot there, that left jab, that was a cracking shot.
02:13He's got a bit of power himself, the opponent, three stoppage wins inside three rounds, but this is a step up for him.
02:21And I agree with you, I thought in the opening 30 seconds this wouldn't last much longer, because he was really feeling those early shots, but you can't fault his bravery, you also can't fault the accuracy and power coming from those fists of McCormack.
02:33Yeah, and I think because Brodsky got hurt early, Luke McCormack's really stepping, going forward now, and he's taking the odd shot himself, so he's going for the stoppage here early on.
02:45He's probably taking a few too many risks himself here, McCormack, and fair play to Brodsky, he's sort of weathered the storm, but again, McCormack is planting his feet and landing shots like that.
02:56Hurtful punches, and he's taken them remarkably well, Petr Brodsky, but it's relentless from McCormack, and every punch he throws at the minute, Richie, seems to be a stinging shot, a powerful shot, and a shot that could potentially end the fight.
03:11There's another one.
03:13Yeah, tremendous stuff, the uppercuts, the left hooks, the jabs from McCormack, everything he's throwing, he's throwing it with power.
03:25Well, there's the bell, and you do feel like standing and applauding here, the fact that Brodsky had the bravery to get through it. A lot of people would have buckled in there.
03:33Yeah, tremendous, he hasn't been stopped just as he did Brodsky, I think he's had one disqualification lost, but he's never been stopped by an opponent, and he showed real mettle there, did Brodsky.
04:03Ben Davison in the corner, he's gone as far as to say that Luke McCormack can possibly have one of the most exciting careers in British boxing history, and they are lofty words coming from a trainer like Ben Davison.
04:18There's his twin brother, that's Pat, he's here watching again tonight, he's slightly further on as a professional, having had five fights so far, but they're two brothers, Rich, looking to make a mark together.
04:28Yeah, tremendous, obviously Pat McCormack, Olympic silver medalist, but they were both very experienced GB boxers, they've boxed all over the world against the best amateurs, the Cubans, the Russians, the Kazakhs, the Uzbeks, and held their own with them all, so that shows you the quality that they both have, and yes, it could be a very successful career for both of them.
04:53Down goes McCormack, and that's a punch, according to the timekeeper, Lee Every says no, Lee Every says it was a slip, despite the fact that they weren't going to stop counting at ringside.
05:04Yeah, we'll just have to have a look at that again, won't we, whether he was just caught with a shot on the, looked on his shoulder, or...
05:11Oh, what a shot from McCormack, spun the head round at Brodsky, but somehow he's managed to stay up, and then the body shot has him down.
05:20How he took the first shot, Richie, I'm not sure, I thought his head was going to twist off his shoulders.
05:25Yeah, cracking shot, and then McCormack then finds quality in his work after that, uppercut and left hook downstairs to the body.
05:34It's the accuracy and the quality of the shot you see, Fletch, is the difference here.
05:38Well, he finished Robin Zamora on pro debut in the second round, and you wonder with a minute and 40-odd seconds to go whether he can do that here tonight against Petr Brodsky, who is remarkably brave, I have to say.
05:50Yeah, he's a tough nut, isn't he? He's been taking some big shots from McCormack, and he's got through it again.
05:57But it's the quality in the work, the variation, and the power from McCormack, very impressive indeed, what a shot that is.
06:05Astonishingly accurate, full of power, and it's doubled him up, look at him.
06:12Well, he's dragged himself up off the canvas again.
06:16Indeed, and that was a tremendous body shot from McCormack, who just moves in again now, and he's looking for big shots again, left hook.
06:24Snaps the head of Brodsky once more.
06:28The courage and bravery of the man from the Czech Republic should be applauded, but Lievre is prepared to see no more.
06:35And it's quite fitting, really, that the final shot was a body shot, because he couldn't handle the body work from Luke McCormack.
06:42It's back-to-back stoppage wins, back-to-back second round wins to start the professional career, and I think we're all going to enjoy watching this journey.
06:50Yes, tremendous stuff from McCormack, and right from that first 30 seconds when he landed that left hook to the body, it was a peach of a shot.
06:57And Brodsky just made the mistake of showing that he was hurt, and then McCormack really pounced on him.
07:03Let's have a look here, see, Brodsky's actually landed a good shot there himself, but gets caught with that first left hook.
07:08Then McCormack moves in, uppercut, two uppercuts, one misses, then it's the left hook downstairs, the crunching shot.
07:17What a punch that was. There's the left uppercut on the inside, and another right uppercut downstairs as well.
07:24And these are hurtful shots, Fletch. Accuracy and power, look at that for a left hook that's gone in. You don't recover from them.
07:31He's got that bit of spite in there, Richie, I think you'll love to see. He's got that spiteful side to him when he's in there.
07:37Well, they're both very, very spiteful, Pat and Luke, I think. Luke's probably a bit more spiteful than Pat is.
07:44Pat's a little bit more reserved, but only slightly. But they're two very vicious and capable boxers indeed.
07:51I mean, the reality is, I don't think they're going to be too slow with him, are they?
07:55Based on the fact that he's 29 and he's got all of this talent and amateur experience,
07:59they're already talking about the likes of Dalton Smith, Adam Azeem.
08:03Big fights early on because they know what he can do.
08:06Every punch he threw in there tonight was sharp and accurate, aggressive and spiteful.
08:11It's a stoppage victory for Luke McCormack, two out of two, and Dev can confirm it for us.
08:19Ladies and gentlemen, at the time of two minutes and eight seconds in the second round,
08:24your referee Lee Every calls a halt to this contest. Therefore, your winner by TKO, Luke McCormack!
08:39Two with two stoppage victories for Luke McCormack.
08:42And when you look into the record books next to Petr Brodsky's name,
08:46there's the twin brother Pat applauding the performance.
