Transcript
00:00Hey, hey!
01:00I know our attachment since maybe 10 years. I was also in the exposition,
01:10also in the vernissage from him, from the other artists. And 10 years ago maybe we
01:17made, I made another exposition in this house where we collected all the nice
01:24things and nice people and all the lovely stuff we put together here in a
01:34collection. The house we painted it in rose. It was very experimental. But this
01:42house is also a good place for this, you know, to experiment and to experiment
01:49with the place here, with the haven, with the ships, with the people who just pass
01:56by. And yeah, it's a place who lives in the daily life. It's not a classical white
02:07cube. Of course the walls are white, but the life comes inside. This is nice.
02:49It is always like a very, in a process what I want to do.
03:19So I had the idea just to put the windows in a milky way that you can't
03:30see through the windows. And that suddenly the house become a frame for
03:37painting or for a drawing. And this was my idea in the beginning. And then I
03:45started to work here inside and I saw that I need this material, for example.
03:53And this mattress, it's not a mattress, but I don't know exactly the name in
03:58English of this material, but I had this only, this rose, always in my house and I
04:06experimented with that. And once it was in the rubbish and then I took it
04:12out again because I thought, no, it is not rubbish. I have to do something with
04:17that. And also this, also this gray. And so this material, I just throw them away.
04:27Then I take it out because I think, no, I have to continue with it. And then it's
04:39like a moment, just, how do you say, geste. And then I started in this coin, I
04:53worked here to this coin and then I just managed to do the whole exposition. And
05:02in the end, it is what it is. It is like a river, you know, it's like floating and
05:10it is like a process. And it will also change, I think, during these two months
05:16where this exposition is.
06:02I love to put stuff inside something.
06:33And I was like always working with this material. And then I saw that I had in my
06:42store, in my collection, this ice cream. And I saw that the color is corresponding
06:50to this material. And because I had the topic of this exposition is,
06:58Heute ist ein guter Tag für einen Ausflug. Today is a nice day for an excursion. I
07:06thought this is really good to show this. It is, you know, it's like playing in the
07:15moment. I didn't know that this work will come out. I was like just experimenting
07:24with my storage, what I have in my house. And the result is this. A lot of
07:32intuition and staying in this room and feeling what it needs.
07:53I just feel a lot for the material.
08:24The material, this is very, it's not hard, it's weich. And this is a cold and hard
08:34material. And this is here, maybe you can show, because when I just make like this,
08:42you see, like a little cloche is ringing. For me, sound is always connected to
09:02visual stuff, because I am synaesthetic. So if I hear a sound, I see a color. If I
09:11see a color, I hear a sound. That's why also the instruments are here. I'm a
09:21visual artist, but I'm also working a lot with sound. And you hear also in this
09:28exposition, a waltz coming all 10 minutes. It is like also a waltz, waltzer, played
09:39wrong, played five notes more down. But I like it because it's so melancholic. And
09:49if you play it higher, it's like very happy, it's too happy. But this is very
09:55melancholic. And it goes also, it fits in this exposition, because these colors are
10:01very happy. But you feel something strange with this chain, something hard, no? Also,
10:09as I feel it. And yeah, maybe it is this contrast between so floaty, nice and hard.
10:26Love it.
10:44They get their funding from the miners.
11:25Cool, cool.
