00:00with Reps London's Joanne Meir unfortunately sidelined for the
00:04remainder of this Grand Prix weekend we didn't see Meir the 2020 MotoGP
00:07World Champion take part in yesterday's proceedings and a nasty bout of
00:11gastroenteritis has unfortunately ruled Joanne Meir out for the remainder of
00:16this San Marino Grand Prix it's been a tough weekend so far for track house
00:22racing both of their riders coming up in this q1 session very very shortly
00:28Miguel Oliveira I'll just be hoping to see a few more checkered flags he's been
00:33out on the first lap in two of the last three Grand Prix
00:37Silverstone of course not his fault when he was caught up in that incident with his
00:42teammate Ralph Fernandez but as always Simon it's not easy to pick the two
00:47who are going to get through this one exactly this man has to be one one of the
00:53riders as favorite because like always you've got to look at who's on on the GP
00:5923s or 4s and he's one of them he is injured he has a not long ago dislocated
01:07shoulder but I think for a one-off lap he could dig deep and do something
01:11special especially at home race so he's gonna be one but I'll list some of the
01:15others Brad Bender was super close to go through really was Paul who's on screen
01:21right now he had some impressive times in the morning but said he's not used to
01:29throwing that soft tire in because he's been doing testing which you don't do
01:32you know you do it on a harder tire and lots of laps and get information and so
01:36he's a little bit rusty when it comes to throwing a soft tire and digging deep
01:40but he had a go yesterday I think with another shot at it you know I think he
01:46could that bike is obviously good he likes it he could do something special
01:49so there's those three and then you've got to count a lacious Barger oh he fell
01:55right at the end of that session yesterday so he he could do something
02:01and also I would say the last one that I could expect to do something as Miguel
02:06Olivera you said the track house was the weekend wasn't going great and you're
02:11right but it's quite different role looked and sounded last night at his
02:16debrief in trouble you know like he really was not happy where Miguel not
02:22the same just pushing the front of it like we were speaking about earlier
02:25trying to find a sitting that didn't do that he spoke about going through
02:29curve only and pushing the front on the other side so did Jack Miller actually
02:34and I think Miguel if they find the sitting he could do something special as
02:39well quick shout out to Johan Zarco the fastest Honda yesterday made a great
02:43effort yeah Johan Zarco pretty much has been the fastest Honda rider throughout
02:47this season he's getting his head down to try and develop that RC213 because he
02:51was in Q2 in Aragon last weekend and Matt how did I miss Alex Marquez he's so
02:56far down yesterday that I mean he is obviously in that group that on
03:01favourites that could go through you know but yesterday it really was yeah I
03:05think Alex was still feeling the effects as inevitably in some respects of the big
03:10crash with Bagnot in Aragon last weekend I'm sure he's been working with
03:13a physio overnight maybe upping the amount of painkillers he's been taking
03:18Fabio D'Antonio one of several walking Moody he said coming into his home
03:23Grand Prix here in Misano probably with that dislocated left shoulder something
03:27that heavy crash in Spielberg at the beginning of August it's just 60% fit he
03:34said it's a bit weak lacking strength lacking mobility as far as anything you
03:40can sort of say ways in his favour this weekend this Misano circuit only does
03:43have six left this is where I'll be struggling in the heavy hard braking
03:47zones where you're turning left as well that will be painful so with that little
03:51slip like yeah not a smooth slide always wrenches the shoulder and those
03:58ligaments in that painful for him he'd obviously be taking some painkillers but
04:03yeah again for the people that don't watch MotoGP all the time you need to
04:07it's two riders that go through and that's why this session they call it the
04:13jungle the riders do because it is so difficult to get out yes they pull a
04:20spy girl felt like you know I think his ideal lap time was around p7 p8 to get
04:24him into q2 we said he just made too many mistakes and you can't do that
04:27nowadays in a time attack when it's all the line you pretty much have to nail
04:32near on the perfect lap otherwise one tiny mistake and it can just pretty
04:37much compromise your entire weekend the John Antonio though is going to set up
04:41benchmark lap time it's a quick one as well a 131.574 he's got the
04:46special disco ball helmet is he going to be partying late on in this Saturday
04:51morning as he tries to get through this session Alex Marquez his day is
04:56going better than yesterday so kind of like you know like we expect him to be
05:01and he's fighting for that top two that go through to q2 yeah pass by girl he
05:06crashed right here at turn one in the earlier fp2 session still picked
05:10himself up dust himself down and found himself inside the top six at the end
05:15of that second practice session there's the John Antonio that now hard on the
05:19front end of that GP 23 through quiet a corner he goes now accelerates up to
05:25turn 9 and 10 Tremonto second gear about 75 comments that it's slow it's point
05:31and then now you really do start to unleash all that 300 horsepower and
05:35these two caddy mana GP bikes I've experienced one of these machines down
05:39here Matt and it launches unreal at this fast corner where they only need a
05:44slight tab on the brake or roll off and it's incredibly fast take some bravery
05:50the back of his mind I'm sure he's blocking it out right now because that's
05:53what these guys do the very elite riders Fabio the John Antonio a little bit
05:58wary that he may well have to have post-season surgery on that dislocated
06:03left shoulder he's very aware that could quite easily pop out again if there's
06:07another crash so the John Antonio at the moment doing a sterling job to get
06:13himself through into q2 down now to 131.472 that is a reference lap time
06:18which has been immediately bettered by Alex Marquez a bit of adrenaline a few
06:24painkillers seem to have sorted Alex on Saturday morning
06:27Polo Spargaro on that new development KTM doing a great job let's see what he
06:32can do on the soft tire which he's not so experienced at lately up into second
06:38place he goes so the John Antonio has now been pushed out of that top two as
06:43we suspected he would be playing a key role in the early part of this q1
06:47session he'll play a key role throughout is Brad Binder he'll get the power look
06:51at how that KTM squats on the rear tire the ride right up device engage and
06:56Binder finds a 131.148 yeah the boss happy with that one so Brad Binder at
07:02the moment that seizes control of this q1 session what about Alessio Spargaro
07:0711th to third he just misses out tight at the top Brad Binder last night
07:13speaking sounded confident that he could do something in in q1 to get through to
07:19q2 and he's a man of his word yeah so far so good for Binder and
07:24replicating back to racing Corsi Piero ability group yesterday did see a Costa
07:29Miller advance directly through Jack Miller was backing his teammate as well
07:35to safely negotiate this tricky q1 session it's got a view from out fair
07:42way of Brad sliding the rear into that turn eight is it even though it feels
07:46like turn seven yeah turn there is a turn seven here in Misano but it's
07:51pretty much just that the fast kink a sweep through which is which is straight
07:56line on the bike so it doesn't feel like a corner at all no Alex Marquez back in
08:01and that's an excellent first step for the Grazini racing rider brilliant first
08:06in 131.243 just nine hundredths away from Brad Binder he's gonna be aching
08:13inside those leathers very sore very stiff hard to break into a flow hard to
08:20keep consistency but at the moment Alex Marquez is doing a top job trying to
08:25join his brother Mark in that second qualifying session it is all the riders
08:30I expected in the top five but the one that I thought could be stronger and I
08:36hope that he is in the next one is Miguel Oliveira in eighth at the moment
08:42yeah we've only got Maverick Vinales at the moment from Aprilia going into q2
08:46the latest bar go the only time he's not featured in q2 this season was back
08:51at around two when he started 13th on the grid important out the moment
08:56Alacia's 131.339 is not good enough another shout-out to Joanne Zarko doing
09:01another awesome effort on the Honda yeah Zarko in sixth place he's also found a
09:07131.485 yeah he's doing an excellent job isn't he Joanne Zarko what was his best
09:17time yesterday 131.7 so yeah straight away on his first run in that q1
09:21session he's found three tenths compared to yesterday Alacia Spargo having a chat
09:26with his crew chief Antonio Jimenez and they've got work to do because they need
09:32to find a tenth or more to get themselves ahead of this rider Alex
09:36Marquez thinking about where you can make the time focus you know where you're
09:42lost a little bit on you think you know you put that soft tire on and it punches
09:47so well off the corners but sometimes there's more grip than you expected and
09:51you didn't extract all of it you know super easy to overstep so second one
09:56you've got another chance to get even closer to the limit and squeeze
10:00everything out but because they accelerate so well off the corner those
10:05brand-new soft tires then in the braking markers sometimes braking at the same
10:10point it's very hard to stop and you can then go in a little bit deep and ruin
10:15the next exit so it's about getting everything spot on there is Ralph
10:20Fernandez heading out of pit lane yesterday Fernandez in that 25 track
10:24out of three with 21st in both sessions he was 22nd in fb2 this morning and as
10:30it stands right now he's gonna be starting 22nd it's a second off the
10:34pace of Fabio Quattararo watches on he's not in this eventful a Q1 session
10:40his teammate Alex Rins at the moment in ninth place about half a second away
10:45from the best time we saw in practice yesterday when Pega Bagnani was in
10:49full flow in time attack mode at 130.685 is the best time we've seen of the
10:54weekend so far I'm not sure what Fabio was doing there
11:00watch you look like you look like a lost leg waiting for the school bus
11:07wondering what he was watching what info he's got in his satchel
11:11Fabio Quattararo thankfully for his sake fighting for a place on the first four
11:17rows of the grid it's been a tough qualifying only two races so far this
11:22season where Quattararo has qualified inside the top ten ninth on the grid in
11:25Portimao eighth on the grid in front of his home fans in Le Mans
11:28that's Pit Buyer in the wheelchair on the right speaking with the glasses the
11:34main man at KTM then on his left the legend Heinz Kinnergartner who has been
11:40a KTM he's a long-term KTM Dakar winner enduro winner yeah KTM legend and
11:46hoping to see Brad Bind to get the job done here in this session he's got it
11:50done so far he will still lead us Fabio Degel Antonio we're on board with him
11:56he came out of turn eight just looking for clear track and now he gets on with
12:00it it's Alex Marquez and Zarko also doing a bit of dawdling on the outside
12:04before they hit into turn nine something else about Pit Buyer that people might
12:09not know while there's a bit of a lull in between tires is he was a very good
12:14motocrosser very good world championship yeah so I only know that really because
12:19I got to go following motocrossers I'd grown up with when I was motocrossing
12:25but they made it to World Championship I went to support them and Pit was one
12:28of their main opposition very good runner and of course now such an integral part for
12:33many many years of KTM's rise of prominence in so many off-road
12:39disciplines they've been able to dominate Moto3 they were successfully
12:43Moto2 and they've enjoyed some success in MotoGP but not enough for a very
12:49ambitious factory they want more that's why they put together arguably their
12:54strongest line-up their strongest quartet for 2025 Acosta and Binder in the
12:58factory team Mignaz and Baccinini in the satellite team as Binder just making
13:03sure that he's gonna get through into Q2 yellow flags out in sector two was
13:08Polisbargo that turn eight second crash of this sprint Saturday then for
13:13Polisbargo and that's probably it has ended his hopes of getting into the Q2
13:16and will lay in some others hopes because the yellow flag but Binder was
13:20passed and he's doing a great job so far squeezing that little bit more out
13:25of that soft tire although he's lost back down to where where he was
13:29originally let's see if he can do that last split perfectly
13:33here he goes and now attacking hard drops the left leg into turn 16 about
13:38115 kilometers an hour as they sweep through that final corner Binder with a
13:42131.148 not able to improve it was close not even two
13:48hundreds away from his best lap time Alaysius Bygrove just set a fastest first
13:53sector the yellow flags had they cleared in time when Alaysius came into the
13:58second split I'm not sure they did because he lost a second so I think he
14:01had to roll out of it and save that tire yeah roll out of it don't keep pushing
14:05save that tire for the next lap speaking of that Binder might be able to improve
14:12on that second leg he's still most riders will get two laps out of it
14:16Pitbuyer looks on anxiously at the moment you can relax a little bit
14:20because Brad's got it covered as he stands right now and he is just once
14:24again trying to make sure that there are no late dramas late fireworks
14:29coming his way here he is at the top of the circuit through Tremonto he goes and
14:34then now it's just all about clicking through those seamless shift gearbox
14:38second third fourth fifth 300 kilometers an hour now as you tip into the super
14:44scary turn number 11 240 kilometers an hour through the curve on the inside
14:49there then you're sort of dropping speed reducing
14:53all the way through 12 and 13 and then into the tight first gear
14:59Caro corner turn 14 about 70 kilometers an hour that good lap that's coming in
15:04from Binder one corner left then for the South African the 29 year old low podium
15:1011 since the opening Grand Prix in Qatar but he should be sailing cruising
15:15in the Q2 here Binder first 130 lap of this session a 130.908 thank you very
15:22much over three tenths clear then of Alex Marquez surely that's enough for
15:27Binder to go through the Q2 great great work from Brad that second lap magic
15:32that's a time and a half unfortunately track house racing Saturday morning
15:37looks like it's drawing to a conclusion there were no Q2 appearance for Oliveira
15:42and Ralf Fernandez and they're gonna be 18th and 19th on the grid Alex Rins on
15:48the factory Yamaha well he came from 21st to 9th place last weekend in Aragon
15:53it's gonna be down in 20th place on the grid as it stands right now only
15:57Marini, Nakagami and Bradle a trio of Hondas sit behind him as Alex Marquez
16:02finds a brilliant lap look at that that's Grazini racing chuffed to bits
16:06for that one a 130.903 from Marquez as they should be chuffed there was a magic
16:11lap as well so Binder and Alex Marquez almost identical times yeah five
16:16thousandths of a second splitting your top two right now and Aleix Sparger then
16:21third at the moment but over nearly three and a half tenths further back
16:24with Stora-Leix come over the line he has got one more crack at it and he needs it
16:29he's got to find a big lap as well though Aleix Sparger because he needs
16:32three and a half tenths just to get on par with Marquez and Binder so a big
16:37ask here for the 35 year old in a red helmet for DG first split so maybe he's
16:43gonna upset the effort card as well right at the end yeah Aleix Sparger has
16:47absolutely nailed the first sector he's found nearly a tenth and a half in that
16:51first split including that aggressive change direction between turns one two
16:56and three managing the wheel spin through four and five getting a drive
17:00out of turn six Antonio's lost a chunk of time in the second split the rider
17:05keep an eye on here as Aleix Sparger it's gonna be mighty mighty close here
17:09between Aleix Sparger, Aleix Marquez and Brad Binder the Antonio and Aleix
17:14Rins look like they're on course for personal best laps don't think they're
17:18gonna be threatening that top two what about Aleix Sparger he's about to come
17:22through sector three now as the factory appear this is gonna be really close
17:25Aleix Sparger here and there could be some late drama at the end of this 15
17:31minute Q1 session we're still tracking the Gen Antonio over the line Digier will
17:36go fifth place he moves up into fourth Aleix Rins is telling what about Aleix
17:41Sparger then is he gonna creep into that top two no lost time gain time over the
17:47whole lap but lost time vitally in that fourth split so Aleix Marquez and in
17:53particular Brad Binder they can both breathe a big sigh of relief because
17:57they've survived the jungle they're in Q2 further down Aleix Sparger third it'll
18:04be 13th on the grid the Gen Antonio was fourth Aleix Sparger fifth after he
18:08crashed mid-session at turn eight Zarco once again by far the leading light for
18:13Honda sixth place for the Frenchman ahead of Augusto Fernandez tough morning
18:18four-track ass racing their riders eighth and ninth respectively Aleix
18:23Rins will start 20th head of the Hondas of Marini, Nakagami and Bridal and the
18:29emotion in the teams Matt you know the top two so happy to have the chance now
18:34to go through to Q2 and being that 12 riders that well you you're at least 12
18:39on 12th on the grid now but you have the chance to use another tyre you don't have
18:44many left maybe one more to fight and see if you can do even better remember
18:49Pedro Costa fighting all the way to the front row last week at Aragon so it
18:55least gives you the opportunity but huge disappointment from third to 13th so we
19:00now know we have two Revolcator factory racing bikes in Q2 with Brad Binder
19:06joining Jack Miller and we now have two Grazina racing the Catties in Q2 the
19:11Marquez siblings will be in the hunt for our pole position number 13 what a
19:17beautiful just five thousandths of a second between Marquez and Binder
19:21they're in Q2 missing out was Alessia Spargaro Fabio DiGelantonio third and
19:26fourth respectively a crash in that session for Polispargo leaves him 15th
19:30on the grid ahead of Zarco Augusto Fernandez points up for grabs of course
19:34in the sprint this afternoon 23 points is the rather big gap that Jorge Martín
19:39has to either extend or defend over world champion Peco Bagnaia coming up
19:45later on this afternoon in the hunt then for pole position here in San Marino is
19:51world champion Peco Bagnaia directly through to Q2 yesterday were Marc Marquez
19:56Martín, Mormodelli, Bastianini, Acosta, Betseke who led the way in FP2 this
20:01morning Vinales, Quattroraro a great job by the former world champion of the
20:05Factory Yamaha and Jack Miller and out of Q1 came Brad Binder and Alex Marquez
20:13so Peco Bagnaia then getting himself fully focused and set for this Q2
20:21session one pole position so far this season for Bagnaia that came in a
20:26dominant weekend in Assen 58% starting record on that front row his average
20:32grid position has been third it's qualified front row in the last three
20:36Grand Prix's but of course qualifying third in Aragon last weekend really hurt
20:41him on the dirty left-hand side of the circuit after all the heavy torrential
20:45overnight rain on both Friday and Saturday night really did compromise
20:50Peco Bagnaia's chances of certainly running with that Jorge Martín in second
20:54place start this weekend feeling a little bit under the weather but in
20:58gorgeous weather here Inmezano is your MotoGP World Championship leader who's
21:04had five pole positions already so far this season that is some average starting
21:09position for Jorge Martín isn't it second is his average grid position in
21:142024 of course it was right here 12 months ago where he had probably one of
21:20his best MotoGP weekends he was absolutely awesome pole sprint win
21:26Grand Prix win led all 40 laps Mark Marquez finding his way back to the top
21:32step of the podium last time out in Aragon just his second pole position
21:37seven days ago on board the Grazini Ducati Marquez has an unbelievable record
21:44here in Inmezano as well nine podiums seven victories four of them in the
21:49premier class this looks like it will be a big big scrapper big fight for pole
21:55position Simon really looking forward to this one I saw you laugh there my
21:59legs bouncing I'm excited and I'm making this green wobble that we're watching
22:04because this is gonna be fireworks you know there's so such a high grip level
22:10and such a high talent level and machinery level I am really looking
22:16forward to see who can go fastest Jorge Martín predicted yesterday that we
22:21could see as we've seen pretty much every Grand Prix this season helped of
22:26course by the developments with the new Michelin rear tire and all time that
22:29record go this morning 130.390 is the time to beat that was set by
22:36Martin here last year Fabio Quattararo season-best eighth on the grid for the
22:42Frenchman that came in front of his home crowd at Le Mans there's been no top ten
22:47since there you can see how difficult Fabio Quattararo's Saturdays have been
22:53in terms of qualifying his average grid position 15th this season nothing wrong
22:57with his race pace he said yesterday afternoon when he spoke the media he
23:01feels like not the pace of the top Ducatis but he feels like he's got race
23:06pace around sort of fourth fifth or sixth the problem is they can't get a
23:10tune out of a soft tire on that factory MR dumps him all the way back down the
23:13grid they only really improved by three to four tenths of a second where that
23:17Ducatis in particular they could make a leap or a jump forward of around a
23:22second which they've had that advantage for a couple of years now I think the
23:26whole paddock that's not on the Ducati is wondering how they do it wanting to
23:31know so so they can replicate it it's almost like they've got a turbo button
23:34for these 15-minute sessions isn't it they do find something special with the
23:39soft tires the light fuel load yep so light that some of the bikes don't make
23:43it sometimes to on the warm down lap after the checkered flag so the less
23:48weight you can carry the better they'll have the small sprint tanks on fuel
23:52tanks which are under the seat only hold half the capacity and and they're alone
23:58they only want the amount of fuel that they can do to use that tire which is
24:03usually an out lap two fast laps and an in lap here we go then time to find out
24:11who will be the master of Misano in Mana GP qualifying this morning there is
24:16Marc Marquez looking for back-to-back pole positions looking for back-to-back
24:20victories since Austin and Emilia Romagna Grand Prix three years ago we
24:26can finally put that one to bed can't we Marc Marquez's last Grand Prix
24:29victory it's no longer Emilia Romagna in 2021 a thousand forty three days of
24:36some dark dark times for Marquez ended in supreme fashion in front of his home
24:42crowd in Aragon last weekend but as he said it's all about consistency now that
24:48is the real strength of the likes of Bagnot and Martín over the last couple
24:52of seasons or so Marquez needs to show that he can be there picking a fight
24:57with those GP 24s week in week out 70 points he sits behind in the world
25:03championship Bagnot was keen eager to get on with this Q2 session wasn't he
25:07wanted clear track in front of him as now he sweeps through the Misano corner
25:12that is out lap completed and now it is time for a head down full throttle on
25:17that factory Ducati as he finds his first flying lap of this Q2 session
25:22we track him through turn two this is where the pain in the ribs he was really
25:27feeling yesterday we have to be aggressive on that flip-flop through
25:31this first sector and super hard on the brakes now it's so slow incredible
25:35forces coming off from those carbon brakes trying to hold yourself back into
25:39those tight turns and then a flick left and then the first of the hard acceleration on this lap
25:48under the bridge there from the Red Bull bridge you can see there about 300
25:52kilometers now maxed out in sixth gear they now go through Quetta corner good
25:56overtaking hotspot on the brakes in the sprint and Grand Prix tomorrow same here
26:00on the brakes into turn nine one of the most tricky corners to get right it's
26:04kind of double apex or odd corner but that's the most important bit is the
26:09drive on to that long straight out of it and now this is Bagnot territory this is
26:14where he excels in this sector three particularly through that Cavone corner
26:18turn 11 he's almost unbeatable untouchable through that high-speed
26:24sweep through Cavone hard on the brakes and now they go into the first gear turn
26:2814 down to about 70 kilometers an hour I'll tell you what man it looks like Alex
26:33Marquez using Pico as a reference is not doing a bad job right behind him either
26:38he's done well to hang on to back of the world champion here hasn't he through
26:41Mazzano corner we go then this is going to be on the reference lap time early
26:45part of this Q2 session it's a 1.30.928 great lap by Bagnot over half a second
26:54clear of Alex Marquez who was in hot pursuit what about Jorge Martin
27:00his lap cancelled for a track limits infringement I wonder whether Martin was actually wide
27:03if he made a mistake going into turn three or turn four on the early part of
27:09that lap Acosta looking for back-to-back front rows of course he was on second
27:14place on the grid in Aragon never had back-to-back front row starts as the
27:19rookie he's second at 1.31.293 it shows the level of Bagnot being able to
27:24come straight out of the garage and go into the 30s just on his first flyer so
27:30it's going to be interesting you know with that reference and what he can do
27:33on the second one and second time yeah and that was just a warm-up now he is
27:37getting into his now he is finding his speed now he is finding his rhythm just
27:42this is a sight to behold just watch him full attack full commitment just
27:47slightly roll the throttle as he attacks through Cavone he seems to be able to do
27:53what everyone wants to do through that corner at will every lap yeah and it's
27:57on rails I reckon if you put a euro coin on one part of the entry to that Cavone
28:02corner he just run over it lap after lap after lap yes of course he does have a
28:07wealth of track experience he's here non-stop with the VR46 Academy
28:12riding production Ducatis around Misano but here we go then at 1.31.293
28:17was his previous best and he's taken a big chunk of time out of that previous
28:221.30.581 there now and you're in complete control of this Q2 but I was
28:27impressed with that Vanya's first flyer Jorge Martins first flyers just come up
28:33look at that 36 30.6 on your first flying lap he is just gold isn't he he's
28:42absolutely awesome in time attack Martin only six hundredths behind Bangaia then
28:47there's a big gap between those two a tenth and a half nearly between Martin
28:51and Acosta there is Acosta lean angle he gets through turn five then he attacks
28:57left then going through turn six build up to about three hundred pumps now
29:01they're now hard on the brakes going into Kwajiko in a turn eight as I was
29:06saying about Bangaia Martin on a second one should be able to improve you
29:11know that that was the reference you know the first flyer and he did
29:15incredible only you know six hundreds behind Bangaia but he's got a bunch of
29:20traffic lengths I don't know if you'll get through there or be balked and lose
29:25that second lap. The beast building an exceptional lap as well himself he's
29:29just swept through your picture as Bas Chieny on the 23 Factory Ducati he'll
29:33now be hard on the brakes here he is into turn 14 just the two left-handers
29:38remaining then for a Bas Chieny lost time in that second split already on the
29:43second round six potentially picking up a couple of spots here though could
29:47creep up to fourth place got a big head shake there didn't he as he attacked in
29:50the turn 16 good lap just behind him as well coming in from Fabio Quattro did
29:55that cost Nair no it didn't up to fourth place Quattro up to seventh on the
30:00middle of that third row you just have to doff your cap to Quattro on that
30:04Factory Yamaha to be just over half a second behind Pekka Bangaia we know how
30:10difficult it's been to get that explosive lap on a Michelin soft tire
30:15for the Yamaha's Quattro at the moment out qualifying Betseke, Binder, Miller
30:20and Vinales just awesome magic really really good seventh on the grid right
30:25now he'd be super happy with that problem is can he go faster than that
30:30he's been here testing I think he's well up to speed he said he was on the limit
30:35yesterday the difficulty will be to go faster than what he's already done and
30:40other people will that so if Fabio can that'll be super impressive
30:47that last braking effort of a Nair on the end of his flying lap and picking
30:51the back off the ground into that last left-hander back coming off the ground
30:56so hard braking then step sideways a little bit in the air and then touches
31:01and flicks back into line he was really like good skills to keep it together and
31:07get the get the lap finished I've just checking I was just looking at the
31:10the standings we've only got 11 riders set times about you can see Frankie
31:14and Mormodelli he's the only rider at the moment that has not officially
31:18registered a lap in this Q2 session he's not strong all weekend as well as
31:23Frankie, fourth he was in both sessions yesterday top six again in FP2
31:28this morning so expect Mormodelli to be figuring for a place on those first two
31:34rows, Bagnaia left pit lane all his lonesome didn't he as we see the two Prima
31:40Pellatt Ducati's heading out on circuit, Mormodelli just ahead of Jorge Martín
31:46Vignal is then the alone a brilliant representative in this Q2 session
31:52Alexis Bargro not getting through Q1 and a poor Saturday for Oliveira and
31:57Ralph Fernandes who were way down the order they'll start 18th and 19th in the
32:01sprint later on this afternoon. Acosta's lap time met for a rookie first time in a GP
32:08at Misano, unreal. He's probably thinking we should have gone back to that standard setting up maybe a
32:14little bit earlier than what we did, hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it
32:17but so good to have him back yeah it really is you know like he was at the
32:21beginning of the year just awesome. You have to forget that this is just the
32:2615th Grand Prix for Pedro Acosta in Misano never ever ridden about a GP bike
32:32around here before and at the moment he's picking a fight with the Ducati's
32:36just as he was in Aragon last weekend. Fair to say he certainly has got his
32:42mojo back. Alex Marquez did a good job he matched the time that he did in Q1
32:4730.9 Brad Vindal will be disappointed something happened there he's three
32:52tenths slower maybe a mistake or someone in the way or because for those two
32:58riders that came through that may have been their only chance that one tire so
33:04you know that's if for example Brad might not have been on that tire yet he
33:08might have who knows but let's see what they can do and it seems tactically from
33:14a strategic perspective as well Alex got it pretty much nailed on because he made
33:18sure he went out of pit lane for that first run tucked in behind Pekka Bagnaia
33:22so that would have definitely given him a reference if you're gonna follow
33:24anybody around Misano you might as well follow Pekka Bagnaia, he's the guy to follow
33:29around here isn't he the helicopter shot that picks up Jorge Martín and yet
33:35Vignelli's not, the helicopter shot cut away there Jorge lost the rear
33:41Martín lost the rear coming through turn three
33:48hopefully we get a replay there yeah I think we just cut away at the point
33:51where Martín the reason we cut away was because Bagnaia's on another flyer but
33:55Martín had a big moment on the gas as he powered through that turn three I was
34:00looking at the timing screen and seeing Vignelli's down not where I expected him
34:05you know coming into this weekend I thought he could do two more things still
34:09not going well for the factory this could be an all-time lap record a 130.390
34:17the fastest lap of Misano and it has been beaten it is an all-time lap record
34:21and who else but Bagnaia has done it a 130.304 and that has altered the
34:28landscape of this Q2 because he's now nearly three and a half tenths clear of
34:33Martín of course we saw a massive gap last weekend didn't we the biggest gap
34:37between pole and second in qualifying between Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta
34:42in Aragon biggest gap since Valencia 2011
34:46Mormodelli there now through the Misano corner
34:49yeah Jorge Martín did have that big scare coming through turn three on that
34:54previous lap Mormodelli does go we said didn't we Mormodelli has been a
34:57contender for the top six all weekend he's on the front row a 130.589
35:03Marquez has crashed Marc Marquez has tipped off Igrizini Ducati few concerns
35:09there as he sort of held that right hand as he was on his knees turn 15 this is a
35:14quick get up how early did that go yeah yeah and I wonder if there was not
35:19enough temperature on the left side you know as he I'm really not sure what lap
35:24he was on but that's usually the cause of a crash at 15 something around here
35:27isn't it right it's why I'm thinking of it been on the left and you lose
35:32temperature in the left side throw it in there in the front just folds you know
35:36whenever I see Marc adjust himself on TV live um the thing is he got up and he
35:45was holding his hand I thought oh he looks sore but he you know with
35:50frustration banged into the wall there and I'll tell you what big pain takes
35:54away anger Matt I don't know you know like a good punch in the face when you're
35:59in a boxing ring takes your aggression away and that's what I've noticed about
36:03racing if you crash you hurt you're not angry you're worried you know so a bit
36:08of anger there is a good sign I think he's okay costly though costly very
36:12costly at the moment Marquez well he'll finish this session at best in seventh
36:16place so that's the third row start here in Mizano for Marquez it's getting worse
36:20because Marco Berseke fires himself onto the front row of the grid that's done
36:24Mark then now back into eighth place well he got a bit of a low blow in the
36:27gravel trap there didn't he as well Mark Marquez how do we put this politely
36:32a bit of a knock in the old nether regions a painful one for Mark Marquez there he is
36:37there now back on the scooter that just looked like the classic cold tire going
36:41through turn 15 just how early it went of course it was there in 2021 where
36:46Pekka Banyaia was leading crashed out and then Pabllo Quattararo won the world
36:51championship we've seen so many I think two riders both factory riders crashed
36:54out temperature dropped and yeah turn 15 any lack of temperature in the left side
37:00can catch you a mark is suffering here because he's now the back of the third
37:06row he's been pushed back down to ninth but to be fair it is q2 and the second
37:11tire you're pushing so hard even if the temperature isn't it you're right on the
37:16edge as well as so that bike went into turn 15 a fair old rate of knots we can
37:22see it barrel rolling the brazini race in the case we've got it all along to
37:26prepper great two bikes for the sprint this afternoon
37:30Quattararo then comes out the final corner 10th place for Quattararo absolutely brilliant right
37:36it doesn't sound much on paper but when you realize just how hard Fabio Quattararo is
37:41pushing for that 131 flat all you can do is just say outstanding ride three quarters of a second
37:48he is off the pace and you know that Fabio is riding as fast as I mean it's got to be close
37:54to this man on screen right now you know to be 7 tenths down and qualifying on Pecco at Misano
38:01on you know on the Yamaha so Fabio is still an absolute weapon 30 seconds of the session
38:08remaining when Martin came over the line he's in fourth place at the moment that's session over
38:12so Jorge Martin then for the third grand prix in four the boss not looking particularly enamored
38:18with life but third grand prix in four looks like Jorge Martin will be starting from p4
38:23which is a familiar sight from him qualifying almost a familiar sight is for him to take
38:27second in sprints and grand prixs of late that clearly didn't go to plan because Jorge when it
38:32does go to plan he's fighting for pole isn't he and but but I've got to say on the positive
38:38Marco Bizzicchi on another nettle flyer right now in third and you know Frankie Morbidelli both
38:45those riders having a tough season and uh to see them go like this great we know that Valentino
38:50Rossi's watching on trackside he'll be absolutely loving life in Misano this morning because at the
38:57moment you have a front row for their home grand prix of Bagnaia Morbidelli and this rider Marco
39:03Bizzicchi might even get better for Bezza I was just going to say might be an attack for pole
39:06position but three vr46 academy riders on the front row of the grid Valentino Rossi lives up
39:13in the hills around Misano in Tavulia this is his playground this is his backyard and this is just
39:20the front row the doctor ordered Pagani with an all-time lap record Frankie Morbidelli that's his
39:27first front row start for the 29-year-old Italian since Hereth back in 2021. Mark Marquez looks up
39:34at the screens inside the Grazini racing garage and unfortunately he'll see his name a lot lower
39:39than expected ninth place it looks like Marquez is starting the sprint and the grand prix
39:45it's a lot of work to do for Mark from that third row
39:49four four Ducatis and in the top four places and so that makes me want to give a shout out to
39:56the Piero Mobility group bikes of Pedro Acosta, Brad Binder in fifth and sixth top job that I'm
40:03sure Pit Buyer will be proud of that one just wonders absolutely could not agree more just
40:08wonder Simon whether that moment that Martin had losing the rear going through two and three
40:13he was just thinking you know it would inevitably just drain you a little bit of confidence would
40:18have gone a little bit of feeling the thing is um I will hear about it in uh debrief tonight I'm
40:23sure but it makes me think something wasn't feeling right you know for him to have a big scare
40:28and then usually we're about to see Mark's crash into turn 15 watch this first as he flicks left
40:34pushing really hard in front I mean we we couldn't see the brake lever so I don't know what he was
40:39doing there on the brake if he'd made a mistake more pressure but it did look like lack of
40:44temperature how quick and early it went down yeah look he just sort of slid for quite some distance
40:51on his uh on his face sitting on his front and luckily that bike didn't come out to meet him
40:58so what a day for the VR46 academy what a day for Pertamina Enduro VR46
41:04racing as well we sent in FD2 this morning when he was fastest great to see Bez back on song back
41:10on form in front of his home crowd he's back on the front row as well for just the second time
41:15in 2024 let's get some thoughts from Pavlonieto and with uh Uccio Saluccio that I've grabbed
41:21actually because what a day for the VR46 concern Marco back on the front row here in Masano and
41:27he's joined there by Frankie and Pecco does it get any better than that yes turns out everybody
41:31today for us is like a victory because the first row here after this period this period is not very
41:36good for us very bad for our team now we start the first road with the Bagnani and Morbidelli
41:41the first row the academy road maybe and I'm very happy and I hope today or tomorrow we do
41:47a good race but we have also the good treatment for the race and I'm happy I'm happy yeah every
41:52right to be happy congratulations thank you ciao to everybody yes that was of course the very
41:57distinctive voice of a very very happy happy happy Uccio Saluccio from Pertamina Ranger and VR46
42:04as we're watching Fabio have a scare with the front a little front slide bit of chatter and a
42:10threatening to lose grip or losing grip and uh it just shows how Fabio's trying to squeeze that
42:16last bit out great to see Marco Beccechi hitting his top form and once again as he mentioned
42:23his first front row since the Spanish Grand Prix in a row just a second
42:27of the season and what a front row I'd love to see a shot of Valentino Rossi right now and we
42:33haven't seen Marco and uh Park Ferme for a while I look forward to his interview um they normally
42:38make me smile yeah he'll bring some uh some joy to Park Ferme what happened later on then to
42:44Maverick Vinales that turn eight I'm gonna see the most likely front
43:00no idea yep hard to pick the bones out of that one what is not up for debate is Maverick Vinales
43:06is going to start the San Marino Sprinter San Marino Grand Prix here in Misano from 11th place
43:12on the grid what a session that was it probably well we promised you fireworks we certainly got
43:17it an all-time lap record from Paco Bagnaia a 1.30.304 after everything he's been through over
43:23the last few days or so putting his body on the line a battered body on the line and he takes
43:29the big rewards with pole position all-time lap record what a front row here in Misano as well
43:35morbidly second second third Mark Marquez with work to do from ninth place on the grid
43:41after that massive crash uh happy happy team I've got to switch to Marco's team here they've
43:49been through a tough time you know he he was amazing last year and uh he's been an average
43:55for a MotoGP rider this year we know struggling with a new rear tire combined with that GP23
44:01and to see him at his home race coming back like this let's hope he can keep it rolling from here
44:06and much the same with Franco what do you think man Frankie oh brilliant awesome to see morbidly
44:11but there we go as we told you his first front row since the Spanish Grand Prix in 2021
44:19three long years three and a half years since his last front row start it's another four place he
44:25started fourth on the grid at Silverstone he started fourth last weekend in Aragon he finds
44:30himself fourth on the grid here in Misano I look forward to hear what it was Matt because you know
44:35how this this man with two chances he he will do something special you know two laps he had
44:41he had a mistake we obviously he's talking about there or or what his problems were but
44:46to not do it on the second one either I look forward to hear what happened
44:50he's probably going to say I did the best I could I'm the next best qualifier
