00:00Good morning from Skegness. We are live from Pride Street where the East Coast
00:07Pride Festival is moments away from starting. I'm with Brad Johnson who's one
00:12of the organisers. Brad what can we expect today? Well you've got a family
00:17friendly event across Skegness. You've got the blue light zone at the lifeboat
00:21station, the family zone in Tower Garden. Behind me is our market street where
00:25we've got vendors but we've also got organisations that support mental health
00:29fostering, recovery and wide support service including NHS providers and
00:35behind you... Yeah just swing around because we have got the stage. There we go
00:43zooming in a bit. Yeah I mean that's looking quite impressive with the clock
00:46tower behind it. Now things are kicking off from 11 o'clock I understand. Yep so
00:53our zones open at 11 o'clock. You can see there's a hive of activity already. The
00:58blue light zone at the lifeboat stations opens 11 till 5. Our family
01:02zone where you can meet characters, there's games, there's also a really nice
01:06picnic area from 11 till 5. Our reflection zone where you can leave a
01:10message for a loved one who's no longer with us or maybe a wish for next year in
01:15Compass Garden and then we are open in this area 12 until 8 with our headline
01:20act Queen's at 7 o'clock. Yeah I mean that sounds like it's going to be some
01:24show and it's been in London I understand that show. Yeah Queen's have
01:30had a London residency over the summer they've also just played Las Vegas and
01:34so from Las Vegas to Skeg Vegas they are performing here and we are so excited
01:39and it's gonna be a day of love, kindness, friendliness and if you've never been to
01:44a Pride before come down and see what it's about. It's a fantastic day it's
01:49just a day of fun, positivity and love and whether you are a member of the LGBT
01:56community or not events like this are for everybody. We want people to come
02:00together, share the love, share kindness and to show what a community is.
02:05Well it's just moments away from starting now you were talking about the
02:11the 999 area sort of what emergency services are going to be down there?
02:18Well I think I've not been down there just yet but we've got the lifeboats
02:21are out we've got lives which is a fantastic Lincolnshire based service
02:25we've got the blood bikes we've got the police we've got the ambulance we've
02:29got fire service we've got all of the blue light services that you love and
02:33are an amazing part of our community here in Lincolnshire and that's from 11
02:37till 5. So plenty going on all over Skegness and it's for families and it's
02:43free? It's completely free come and see us it's been a real labour of love over
02:49the last nine months the whole event is put on by volunteers and it's funded by
02:53businesses in the town and the community. This event although we are organising it
02:57is the community's event and we want people to have an amazing day with us
03:01and if you've never been to a Pride before come down to Grand Parade and
03:04come and see us. Well good luck with it all it is a bit
03:07overcast at the minute so I think all the colourful stands behind they're
03:11certainly brightening it up but it's warm it's dry and here's hoping you have
