00:00I'm talking to them now, this must mean a fair bit to you to see two years after not having a team and now you're in a grand final.
00:05Look, it means everything to be honest. We've worked so hard. I'm a bit emotional because of it, because I know what a struggle it's been for us.
00:13Darlene threw everything at us today and we responded. We were down, we'd come back.
00:18So I'm just so proud of these girls. We didn't have Lani again today, so she was doing a dent today.
00:24So for us to just push through with not much, we couldn't do many changes today, but Ruth Smith came on when we needed her and helped out.
00:34But yeah, it means a lot to us. We're really proud and to have three teams through, including 43 finals this week is amazing.
00:41Lani will obviously be back in two weeks' time though. She'll help back down there?
00:44Yeah, she will. She's such a talent for a 16-year-old kid, you know, to be in the Aussie team up.
00:51And it just gives us something of difference. If it's not working with Taz, we can roll her in.
00:57And she's a great impact player, so yeah, a great person to get back into your team.
01:01Where did you win it? Because they jumped you early. Where do you think you got back?
01:05Look, credit to them. They were really defensive and they've done their homework on us.
01:09They took Simona De Filippo out of the game in the first quarter to the fact where I had to actually take her off the court and try something different and then put her back on.
01:17But I think once we got away from them in the second quarter in particular and found some depth into the pockets and got our running going, that's when it sort of changed a little bit.
01:29But they kept coming. They're such a great team, Darlie. We know they're always going to keep coming at us.
01:33How nervous did you get? You got five up and then all of a sudden it got back to two and they had the pass and it was like, it's on again.
01:38I'm always nervous. Always nervous until that last game. And for every game that I watch, we're 10 goals, 20 goals, one goal, I'm always nervous.
01:46We had the timer going. We just wanted that buzzer to go. But yeah, I was pretty nervous because I know how quickly you can score a net ball like you can score in eight seconds.
01:56So we just wanted to make sure that we did the basics well, get our hands over the ball, take three seconds, take a breath and then go.
02:03When you had possession, you could pass it around a bit, couldn't you? You didn't have to go straight down and try to score.
02:07Even that last minute, there was probably seven or eight passes just in the back half of the court.
02:12Our word for today was composure. We needed to be composed and not panic and make sure that we had some really definite leads to the ball rather than just throwing it.
02:22So no laterals, have an angle, drive to it and go the easy pass rather than make it difficult. And I think we did that well.
02:28Fantastic. Thanks Kim.
02:29No worries.
